This was a very gripping read overall, it had great twists and turns and kept me hooked all the way through.

This witty novel takes a sharp turn from the glossy world of brand management and into the messy reality of family dynamics. Sasha, a woman in her early forties yearning for a child of her own, finds herself unexpectedly mentoring Jenna, a wide-eyed young assistant clinging on by her fingernails in the big city. Sasha's glamorous facade cracks as she grapples with the indifference of her older husband, who already has grown children, and the silent judgment from her environmentally conscious stepdaughter. Jenna, meanwhile, juggles two jobs to make ends meet, adding a touch of humor (and relatable desperation) to the narrative. While the intricacies of a green airline branding campaign might feel like an unwelcome detour, it cleverly becomes a battleground for Sasha's personal struggles. The author masterfully weaves together themes of ambition, family tension, and the quiet ache of unfulfilled dreams, making "The Baby Chase" a surprisingly poignant and thought-provoking read.

Covering similar territory to 'Precious You/That Woman' and 'Techbitch,' 'Everything You Have' focuses on the story of an older woman in the branding industry - Sasha is in her early forties, married to an older man with two kids of his own and desperate for a baby - and her relationship with her new assistant, an undistinguished young woman trying to make it in the big city.

This book had its strengths - I liked Sasha a lot, despite her baby fixation - and really enjoyed Jenna's struggles to keep it together in London while working in an Archway Road-style gastropub to supplement her first-timer's wages at the branding company. Most people will be able to relate to that!

There were some things I found worked less well, such as the explanation of all the details of a branding campaign Sasha and Jenna are trying to run for an environmentally friendly airline (represented by Sasha's unpleasant ex-boyfriend) and how Sasha's Extinction Rebellion-loving stepdaughter Georgie gets involved in it. I wouldn't say this didn't go *anywhere* but there was a lot of it and it didn't add much to the plot, similarly to how Stella Newman's novels cover the world of work - it all makes sense, but you kind of wish you didn't have to hear about it.

Despite its flaws and some wobbly pacing, a sure-fire summer page-turner and beach read!

This book is really the battle of two strong women, a successful professional and her assistant who just may be out to get her… A thrilling and at times satirical ride!

Sasha knows all too well that having it all is a myth, but like so many others she is intent on keeping up appearances - even as she is fed up with her job and struggling to handle her teenage children.

So when Jenna, her new assistant, proves to be reliable and incredibly efficient, Sasha feels that she may finally be able to get a handle on things.

The problem is, Jenna is not really who she says she is. Then again, neither is Sasha...

Told In alternating POV, this is a gripping story that will hold the reader's attention. It gets 3.5 stars

Firstly thank you to S&s for my early access in exchange for a honest review .

I absolutely loved her debut and had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago .
So I was eagerly awaiting the next piece of writing !

Written In alternate narratives this builds up the tension and suspension perfectly .
Not all is as it seems in either of these women’s lives and they will do anything in their power to keep that secret .
Lies, scandal ,power and revenge this is a fantastic book. Completely unpredictable this will get under your skin and make it difficult to trust your new work colleagues again…

My only criticism is it felt a bit too long with scenes that didn’t benefit the plot .
However this is set to be another summer top read!!
