This was interesting. Parts of the book moved slow and others moved much quicker. Collin left his small town to join the marines after murdering someone who broke into his house. His girlfriend at the time lowyn was devastated that he left and didn’t tell her. They are reunited after many years and how do they pick back up?

This is one of those stories where it could last for so many books. I really enjoyed the characters and mystery and can not wait to get book two. The romance was spot on for the story I think. Not to much and not to little and I have to say that I loved it so much!! The cover really does it for this book it matches the vibe so well. So if you want to read this because of the cover you will not be disappointed!! This story where everything isnt what it seems was a hit with this reader and I think fans of romance and mystery will enjoy it!

Second chance romance is not for me, and this was more YA than I thought it would be. If you like those things you may enjoy this book.

I originally wanted to read this for two reasons. The cover and the fact it’s set in West By God Virginia. The story is pretty decent. The last 20% of the book was the best. I will admit I almost dnfed. But once the action starts, it didn’t let up. Colin and Low were pretty cute together. I’m always a sucker for high school sweethearts reuniting. I may or may not continue with the series.

'The Rumble and the Glory' by J.A. Huss and was left feeling a bit underwhelmed. The story didn't quite live up to my expectations, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged. Despite this, I appreciated the author's effort to create a unique narrative. However, I couldn't help but feel that the book fell short in terms of overall impact. Perhaps with some further development, the story could reach its full potential.

Excellent book, loved it! Looking forward to more from this author! Apologies for the lateness of my review

When I initially requested this title I didn’t realize it catered more to young adult. The cover is what sold me. I think it’s the perfect read for a younger generation though. I just wasn’t the right reader.

Thank you for the advanced copy.

The Rumble and the Glory by J.A. Huss is a gripping exploration of love, betrayal, and redemption within a fiercely competitive environment. The story unfolds through the lives of complex characters who navigate intense emotional landscapes while facing the harsh realities of their choices. Huss’s engaging writing style and intricate plot twists keep readers on their toes, as the protagonists grapple with their pasts and seek their paths forward. This novel is perfect for fans of passionate romances intertwined with personal growth and dramatic stakes.

The Rumble & the Glory was such a good listing of tropes I adore... second chance romance, small town, found family, etc. It totally lived up to the expectation and I loved the background story building. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series brings!

The Rumble and the Glory by JA Huss is a deep dive into a gritty world of exptreme poverty that survives despite the odds. The tension is as taught and frayed as the emotional ties between characters, the passion as firey as the conflict and the storyline as strong as the will to survive in this environment. What a blinding introduction to this author! Fantastic!

Thank you to NetGalley, and JA Huss for this ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

JA Huss’ The Rumble and the Glory is a gripping blend of high-stakes drama, intense passion, and complex character relationships. The chemistry between the protagonists adds layers of tension, pulling readers into a world where ambition, love, and personal struggles collide. Huss masterfully balances the emotional highs and lows, with the competitive backdrop adding an extra punch to the story. While the plot is fast-paced and thrilling, it’s the raw, real connections between the characters that make this a standout read.

This is a second chance romance with a little bit of spice and a lot of mystery.

I was very excited to start this series just based off the beautiful covers but was a little disappointed. The storyline was good and something I haven't read before. I think the characters have potential, but the first book fell a little short with their development. The setting was great in the hills of Appalachia. I just felt very disconnected from the book, it didn't grab me like others do. Having said all of this I do look forward to continuing the series, sometimes the first book just takes a bit to build.

Thank you NetGalley for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Oh WOW. I’ve read a number of books by this author and she never fails to disappoint. Loved Lowyn and Collin and the idea of old time revivals keeping their towns afloat. Can’t wait to read the other books in this series

The Rumble and The Glory by JA Huss 2.5⭐️

The premise for this book was super interesting and unique. Unfortunately this book fell short of my expectations. I wanted more angst and groveling from Collin after he up and left Lowyn with literally no explanation. I feel as though she forgave him far too easily for the man that supposedly “ruined” her. There were also a ton of characters in this book and it made it difficult to keep track of everyone. The plot twists came completely out of nowhere and honestly just confused me more than anything. I know this is set up to be a long series but I feel as though there were WAY too many cliff hangers/plot lines left unfinished. I probably won’t continue the series.

Took a while to get into this but once I did I was hooked! A perfectly dark-but-not-too-dark romance. I loved how detailed her world is, and I definitely want her house haha! It was interesting beyond just the romance, as it really keeps you hanging on, but also the spice is delight Totally recommend!

Rumble and Glory
You know, I really wanted to like this book. It had good tropes and an intriguing premise but didn’t work for me. My favorite thing about this book was the cover art.

One reason being, it really needed a better editor. I understand I was given an ARC and should give the author a little grace but c’mon. For example a direct quote, “And then there he is. Looking like a fuckin’ whatever.” How descriptive.
Also if I took a shot for every time the word guffaw was used, I’d need my stomach pumped.
Reason number two, there’s such thing as TOO much instant gratification. In my opinion, I should’ve had to work for the tragic backstory. But it was front and center about 10-15% in. And I’m sorry; you wouldn’t just let the man waltz back into your life after abandoning you for 12 years. He should’ve BEGGED for her forgiveness, groveled at her feet instead he just forced proximation. Yet, all her friends are just like why aren’t you sleeping with him yet?? Did y’all forget he abandoned her at a very traumatic time in her life??? Doesn’t matter how hot he is now, that’s not okay and those are some crappy friends. And the entire story happens is in the span of a week?? Like let me get this straight, Collin moves back after 12 years of no contact- after breaking up with her via his friend and enlisting in the military- hits on her twice, then shows up on her work trip and takes her on a date? Absolutely not.
Lastly, I just didn’t feel any connection with the characters or the world building. At first I was intrigued by the festival but by the end I was so tired of it. I didn’t care about the plot twist, I just wanted to be done if I’m completely honest.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review!

This was a great freaking book.
It started off slow and did take about half of the book to finally hook me in (which is the only reason it isn’t 5 stars) but after that half way point I was GLUED to it.
It’s different than any romance book I’ve read, and I know it’s not just romance, but it’s soooo different from anything I’ve read, genuinely unique.
I love books that I can’t tell where they are going, so many out today have the same story line, and become predictable, but this book is so incredibly unique and surprising.
I HIGHLY recommend this book!

It was difficult for me to get into this story. I’ve read other books by JA and this the first time I’ve experienced this.
