The Stepdaughter was my first book by this author and I was a fan. Cross is an auto buy author for me. My Perfect Husband had me drawn in from the very beginning and kept me engaged.
This was a fun fast paced mystery, and I very much enjoyed it. This author is new to me and I must say that I really enjoyed the writing style and how quickly the book moved. I enjoyed going with Lauren on the journey of finding out information about her missng sister and how her husband could possibly be involved with her.
This was a thriller that I made several predictions on but none of them were right and I love that!!!
Just not my cup of tea. Why are we reading this crap? Not something I want to see again. Yucky in so many ways.
Psychologiacal thriller that will make you really think. I thought I had it all figured out but Ms. Cross blew my mind! It is well-written and a really great book!
I enjoyed the book and it kept me reading. I didn’t quite go for the ending though. Quite an engaging ending:
This book I had to set it down, I’m a mood reader. Once I was able to pick it back up, It’s very interesting it was super twisty! It held my attention. There really isn’t much O can say about this book without giving too many details and ruining the storyline. That ending is though! Georgina Cross can really pack a punch!
Multilayered domestic suspense.
This book takes place mostly in New Orleans so I could just feel that humidity pressing in on me.
It’s got a husband and wife, Alex and Lauren. Lauren’s sister, Ellie, has been missing for over a decade. When Ellie’s body is found in an abandoned house in New Orleans, secrets start unraveling fast.
There are so many surprises along the way that made this a one sitting read for me.
Georgina does a nice job of using the past and the present to tell the story which I’m still thinking about.
I happen to love a good domestic thriller, so this one was a no brainier book to try out for me. I was not disappointed, while I have never read anything by this author previously I will be adding her to my must read list. This book has it all suspicious husband, morally grey characters, red herrings and plot twists.
The premise of this book sounded so twisty with so much potential, but I was let down. The pacing of the story was slow and I was not satisfied with the ending. It seemed rushed and unfinished.
Georgina Cross’s My Perfect Husband is a twisted and jaw-dropping chiller that will keep you up all night.
The bottom had fallen out of Lauren’s world when her little sister Ellie had disappeared. Lauren had searched high and low for her sister, but Ellie is nowhere to be found. Out of this dark and desperate situation though, Lauren had met Alex and fallen head over heels in love with him. Like Lauren, Alex also had a sibling who had gone missing and the two of them had bonded over their grief and their loss and formed a friendship that had developed into love.
When Lauren gets news from the police that Ellie’s body has been found, her entire world is turned on its head once again. She thinks that she cannot take any more shocking surprises – until the police pull up a crumpled photo of her sister with a man’s arm around her and the man is none other than her husband who had swore that he had never met Ellie. Why did Alex lie to her? Could he be connected to Ellie’s disappearance? Has he killed her sister? And is her husband now coming after her?
A creepy thriller packed with twist after twist, Georgina Cross’s My Perfect Husband is a dark and exciting domestic thriller full of shocking secrets, deadly deceptions and dangerous lies that kept me glued to its pages. A propulsive page-turner not for the faint of heart, Georgina Cross’s My Perfect Husband is a must-read for thriller fans.
I was fully expecting a quick, entertaining read with a twist that might or might not be predictable, but the twists were shocking and just kept coming! To say this book exceeding expectations is an understatement. It was really the ending that turned this one into a memorable read, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Im always attracted to a domestic thriller or drama. This one started off great but I found the book to be too repetitive. The ending was frustrating and left me disappointed.
These types of thrillers are my favorite. I thought I was able to figure out where it was heading but then I was mind blown over and over. Georgina knew exactly what she was doing when she wrote this book. I loved it.

If @thrillerbookloversthepulse crew recommends it, you know it’s going to be hot! Georgina’s One Night was one of my favorite thrillers of 2023 so I knew I had to read her latest, My Perfect Husband.
After missing for 12 years, Lauren’s younger sister Ellie is found dead with an unexpected photo on her - in it is Lauren’s husband Alex. Secrets, lies, lots of potential suspects and at the heart of it all, New Orleans.
I love popcorn thrillers and this one delivered. And though I enjoyed the journey of all puzzle pieces sliding in together, for me the star of the show was the city itself. I wanted to crawl into the book and taste the food and hear the music and experience everything Ellie loved about living in New Orleans.
If you’re looking for a character driven suspense that will keep you turning pages, this is definitely a book for you!
A big thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This would’ve been a good read for me but the ending kind of ruined it… if the information was originally included it wouldn’t have felt like that. If you omit the information entirely the no one can really grasp the story in my opinion. I can’t say too much without spoiling anything but I think this just wasn’t my cup of tea. I do think that lovers of domestic drama and mystery would enjoy this if you like a plot twist that you have zero clues for pops up at the end.
This author will always deliver! This one was super twisty and set in New Orleans, which I love. It’s about a married couple, both have missing siblings, which is part of their bond. Years later, they get a call the missing sister is found. That’s when it all begins to spin out of control!
Gripping.
i couldnt put this one down once I started.
this was such a thrilling read and i highly recommend this for psychological thriller fans
What a wild ride! This is a must read author for me!
SO your sister is missing… Just left one day and never came back… poof 💥 … Is Ellie just being a free spirit?? Or did something unthinkable happen?? 🤔 Lauren wonders… Thankfully she has the most supportive husband… he totally understands… you see Alex’s brother… is missing too… WHAT?? 😳Weird concidence right??! 😬Hmmm… I would say it’s always the husband.. but he never even met Ellie!! 🤷♀️
This went sideways really quickly!! Creepy… twisted.. and a fast binge read!! I loved it. It will have you second guessing… EVERYTHING and EVERYONE!!😉 Ummm and that ending!!! 😳
Thank you to NetGalley, author Georgina Cross and Bookouture publishing for the opportunity to review this book.
This was my first read from this author. The title and cover is why I chose to request this book. I never read the synopsis because I find it generally reveals too much of the book.
My perfect husband was a well done domestic thriller. So many different twists, so many suspects and the ending I did not see coming. It is a binge worthy read that kept my attention.
The character development was well done and it was easy to relate to the characters. Lauren and her grief over the loss of her sister and I totally hated Alex from start to finish.
The storyline was good. It is one of those storylines that has been done by numerous authors but Georgina Cross put a whole new spin on it.
I’ve already got a list of her other books on my TBR list.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross is a mystery/thriller. It starts on an intriguing note and the intrigue was sustained right to the end. The twists towards the end leaves one's head spinning, and the cliffhanger at the end was well done. It certainly lived up to expectation. Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
