Alex and Lauren met at a grief group for missing persons, years later she’s wondering if it was coincidence or something that was well planned. This is a suspenseful, quick read with an ending that is asking for a sequel!

Trauma bonding…or so you think. This thriller is fast-paced, with so many twists and turns. Anytime I thought I had it figured out, another piece of the puzzle was revealed and I had to start over.

I really enjoyed this book about Lauren and Alex, who met in college over a shared experience. It is told from Lauren’s POV and being inside her head during this wild ride was perfect. 12 years after Lauren’s sister goes missing, she gets a phone call that changes everything; including how she looks at her husband. This book takes us to the scene of the events in New Orleans and the story is off and running from there. A quick, enjoyable page turner at under 300 pages that is worth it!

Lauren finally gets the call she’s anticipated for the last 12 years.. news about her missing sister, Ellie.
But now she’s trying to figure out why there is a picture of her husband in Ellie’s pocket? When she didn’t meet him until the year after she went missing?

Full of mystery and suspense! A fast paced, fun read that will keep you guessing! I had many guesses and I was wrong about them all! I love books that are a whodunnit and you don’t know who to trust, and this gave me everything I would want and expect in that type of book! Definitely recommend!

This is my first book from this author and I will absolutely be seeking out more from her!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for my advanced copy.

This was a unputdownable thriller which had me gripped from the first page until the very last. It was a unique thriller with many twists and turns. The characters were well developed and the setting style was excellent.

Lauren met her husband Alex not long after her younger sister went missing. Alex has a brother who is missing so together they have built a life but always looking for their siblings. When Lauren gets a phone call saying they have found her sisters body she is devastated but when the detective send her some photos that her sister had in her pocket Lauren is shocked how can her husband have known her sister? Who is the man she is married to and how dangerous is he.

This was a fantastic thriller with an excellent ending. I can’t wait to recommend this brilliantly written thriller.

I have to agree with the description - this is a “unputdownable” thriller!

Lauren’s sister Ellie has been missing for 12 years, During that time, she’s met her devoted husband Alex and created a life together. Brought together by grief, Alex also has a sibling who is missing. When a detective contacts Lauren with an update on her sister’s case, her whole world unravels. While I thought I had this one figured out, I was not expecting what really happened to Lauren’s sister. Plus, this one has an ending that will you jaw in the floor! If you love a book with a great setting (hello, NOLA) and a unique mystery, check out The Perfect Husband.

This story is told from the perspective of Lauren but centers around her husband and their missing siblings. I loved being in Lauren's head with her limited but deep view of the story as it unfolds and she tries to piece together what happened to her sister Ellie. The New Orleans setting was immersive and well-described The plotting was twisted and mysterious with many clues and red herrings abound. I don't want to say too much and give anything away, but if you're a fan of twisted psychological domestic thrillers, you'll love this book.

Lauren and Alex met at college and they both have something in common. They both lost a sibling. Lauren lost her sister and Alex lost his brother. Twelve years later Lauren get a call from the police in New Orleans a body has been found in an abandoned house and it's her sister Ellie. There are photos found on her body and Lauren is shocked to see that the man in the picture is her husband Alex. Did he have something do do with her disappearance?

I loved this fast-paced thriller! I read it in one sitting. A married couple who met in a support group who bonded over the loss of their siblings. Her sister and his brother have been missing, and now 12 years later the truth will be revealed. So many unexpected twists and turns up until the very end!!

A slow burner for me. Well written characters with enough red herrings. The storyline was ok but just a bit on the crazy side of over the top for me.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross is a good domestic psychological thriller set in Chicago and snippets of action in New Orleans.

When Lauren's sister vanished, Alex, Lauren's husband, put up posters and put her back together. But when police pull a crumpled photo from her dead sister’s pocket, Lauren sees her husband’s familiar face smiling back, and her world shatters.

Lauren thought they’d never met. Was she wrong to trust the man she married?

There were some good tense moments, but a lot of exposition and a slow-burn psychological thriller. The story had some twists and "oh, wow" moments. The story ended a bit abruptly; I thought there might be more to reveal. Overall, a good fast read with good twists.

I gave the book 4 stars because it was a little slow in some parts for me. I kind of had the plot figured out, but that didn't detract from my enjoying the story and finishing the book.

I would recommend this book. I will check out more books by this author.

That was an afternoon well spent. I raced through My Perfect husband in one sitting. A story with so many twists it just needs to be read. I loved the New Orleans setting, the author firmly placing the reader in the streets with her descriptions of the area. I found myself second guessing everything ai read at one time or another and the ending was perfect.

12 years after her sister Ellie went missing, Lauren gets the phone call that she has been dreading. Her remains have been found and there were some familiar faces in the photos found with the body. That is all you need to know. At under 300 pages, you will fly through this book.

Thanks to Bookouture and Thriller Book Promotions for my advanced copy to read. Published on May 16th.

In My Perfect Husband we see a couple, Alex and Lauren, who are in love and happy.

That is, until the police contact Lauren about her long lost sister. They find the body and send pictures that were found in the sister's pocket. One of the pictures is mind blowing - it is of Alex.

This psychological thriller takes the reader on a wild ride with twists you won't see coming. It is chilling and raises questions about an institution that those involved expect to be the backbone of their lives. What does it mean to distrust the very person you rely on the most?

A book that keeps you up at night

Lauren and Alex are happily married. They have one major thing in common as they both have missing siblings. One day Lauren gets the news about her missing sister Ellie. She is found in New Orleans, but sadly she is dead. Their father is in a facility and she must tell him the heartbreaking news after all these years.

Pictures have been found with Ellie which will turn this novel upside down and filled with one emotional ride full of twists.

Cross always delivers unique, mind-blowing and twisty novels that are page turners. Stayed up super late because I HAD to finish. Those novels are the best.

Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 16th May. This was a fast- paced twisty domestic noir with many secrets and everything else in between! The book had an addictive and engaging plot that was very hard to put it down, it was so good I read it in 24 hours!

My favourite character was Lauren as I would always wonder what would happen next for her. This book is a must read for thriller fans finally, this is the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m now a fan! 😊

Lauren's sister has been missing for twelve years. When she was at college, she met Alex, who, surprisingly, has a missing brother.
They both work hard to get leads, and then the phone call comes.
Ellie has been found deceased. Not far from where she went missing. But Lauren makes a horrific discovery when photographs taken from Ellie's pocket are shown to her.

This is a slow burn thriller. There are red herrings and discoveries that take the reader into another direction.
Very cleverly written, and the twists are great.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

What an amazing spin on a domestic noir. This was so original and different from 90% of the other husband and wife thrillers out there. The plt flowed well, its well written, the characters are layered and original and the twists just never stopped! Couldn't put it down

Alex and Lauren are married as they bonded in college over both having a missing sibling. Alex misses her sister Ellie so much. Now, 12 years later the phone rings and shatters her world. The New Orleans police have found Ellie's remains and on her she has a photo in her pocket of her with two men. The police send her a copy of the image and as she opens the image on her phone she is shocked at who is pictured with her sister.

Alex and Lauren might act like the perfect couple but they are both liars. They have kept secrets from each other and once the secrets are revealed will they be able to move forward?

I liked this fast paced, twisty thriller.

Lauren and Alex are married and connected over their missing siblings. Lauren receives a call one day that her sister's body was found. In her pocket is a picture of her husband. Lauren and Alex head to New Orleans separately for answers. As time goes on, Lauren finds out her sister had a stalker, finds pictures that she didn't know existed, relationships that seem strained when her sister was alive. What does her husband have to do with all this? Secrets are revealed in shocking ways. I didn't like how the very last chapter went, but overall this was a good book with suspense.
