When you are married, your other half is or at least should be the one to stand by you, to comfort you whenever you need it and vice versa of course. But what when that person suddenly seems to be the one you should not have let into your home and into your heart at all?

What if you uncover they have kept important things from you and you feel like you don't know them at all?

But maybe you are not the person you portray to be either.

Who did what to whom? Who kept what from whom? Is there a way out of this tangled web?

The author cleverly builds up this story, guiding the reader in one direction to make a u-turn towards a shocking ending.

You may think you have covered all your tracks, but you should always sleep with one eye open...

A great book that left me flabbergasted. 5 stars

Thank you

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 If you are into non-stop, psychological thrillers that give you a gentle unease that grows, this book if for you! My Perfect Husband wastes no time jumping right into the action, creating that small pit in the bottom of your stomach that will just sit there even after you close this book. Grief brings people together in the strangest ways. Lauren met her now husband, Alex, in a grief group. Their deep bond and love was formed over the shared loss of their siblings. When Lauren receives the dreaded phone call that they have found her sister’s remains, her world implodes in ways she could have never imagined and creates a depth of doubt that she may never recover from. Why was there a photo of Alex found in her dead sister’s pocket? Trust me, you will want to read this one to find out.

Review is posted on Goodreads and will be on Instagram well ahead of the publication date!

Oh my Word. The Twists!!! I felt like I was on a rollercoaster holding on for dear life from the twists and turns in this story.

I was engrossed from page 1 and there was no way I was putting this book down til I finished.

Cross has done it again brilliantly. She made her characters real and I trusted noone. I thought I knew it but nope, I was completely wrong.

If you love psychological thrillers I suggest getting this one. A definite recommend

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest opinion.

This author just gets better with every book, and I was blown away by hr latest. Do yourself a favor and go in as blind as you can because the synopsis gives too much away, I think.

Lauren and Alex are blissfully happy in their marriage even though they share a common pain, which is the anguish of a missing sibling. Lauren is always aware of her intuition, and one morning it tells her something is going to happen. It does. One phone call changes everything. Her beautiful, vibrant sister Ellie, who disappeared in New Orleans years before, has been found. And she's dead. While she's grappling with her grief, the detective tells her some photos were found in Ellie's jean jacket and asks if he can send them over to see if she recognizes the people she's with.

Her heart stops when she sees the photo.

That, my friends, is all that you need to know. This story will take you on a wild ride with twists that you will never see coming. The pacing was frenetic, perfectly done for this plot, and the characters were so believably constructed that I felt what they were feeling; the grief, the deception, and the guilt. It was an added bonus for the city of New Orleans to play such a main role as it's my familiar neighbor to the west. Cross perfectly captures the lush beauty of the Garden District and the stately homes and historic hotels. It truly was the best city for this deceptive plot to unfold as the vibrancy of its night life is a perfect contrast to how the music doesn't reach some dark corners of the city, and a life can slip away unnoticed in the shadows.

The perfect read for thriller lovers! Thank you so much to Bookouture and Thriller Book Lovers Promotions for my early copy. This title will publish May 16, 2024.
