Synopsis - Lauren's sister Ellie disappeared when Ellie was working in New Orleans. Lauren's husband, Alex's brother Clive also disappeared along with Ellie as well. Both Lauren and Alex seemed to have a hard time moving on. Then one day, Lauren received a phone call from a detective in New Orleans. Ellie's body was found in an abandoned house. And it was believed to be a possible murder. Through Ellie's remains, the detectives recover some pictures that were there and the detective forward those pictures to Lauren to see if she recognized anyone. And as Lauren carefully studied the pictures, she was shocked to see her husband, Alex posing in a picture next to her sister. Is her husband after all responsible for her sister's murder?
Good points - The writing was really great and I like the setting--changing sceneries between Lake Michigan and Louisiana. The pacing was fast and also I like how the author left with a small cliff hanger at the end.
Bad point - I actually have read books from this author before but usually she has couple of other main characters POVs. However in this one, we only have Lauren's POV which in my opinion doesn't really work well with this book. I think if we have Alex's POV in this book would have made the book a little better.
Overall verdict. - This was a quick read and also good for ones who like to read pop corn readers. If you are a fan of Freida McFadden, Mary Kubica, then this book will be perfect for you. Worth four stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I was happy to find that this book pulled me in right away! I was thrilled that this book had twists and turns that kept me guessing. It is hard to find a story that I can’t figure out pretty early on but I was pleasantly surprised to find I was never entirely sure about my hunches.
Here’s a quick summary (without giving anything away); missing siblings, a questionable husband, clues that take you in and out of the past, and writing that keeps you enthralled! I had never read a Georgina Cross book before but I’m sure I’ll read her again.

I want to thank NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this publication. In return, I have promised to provide an unbiased review.

Quick listen with super juicy secrets! I thought this book was really good but I did not care for the somewhat of a cliffhanger ending.

The book title is confusing. Usually, when there is a perfect anything in the title, it’s anything but. Here? Not the case, really. Nobody is perfect in the book, but if I had to pick one person who was the most perfect of them all, then it would be the husband, actually. I guess I’m just used to seeing anyone labeled perfect in the book titles turn out to be the most horrible person ever. But not in this case.
I’m still rating this one 4 stars. It was good still. I’m still recommending it to anyone who asks for a weird thriller or who is looking for a thriller with a mentally not-quite-there MC. It is just a very, very different read. Trauma is a weird thing. It plays weird tricks. Mind is an even weirder thing, it plays even more weird tricks. This is what this book is – a trickster. It seems to be one thing, then it morphs into something else, and then it turns into something else entirely.
I’m not sure how I feel about the story, how I feel about the characters, how I feel about the twists. It all was fairly unique, that’s for sure. I’m also not sure if it matters if there was at least one likable character (there were none, btw), I’m not sure if this was a strange case of an unreliable narrator (I think it wasn’t, it was the way the narrator was, not them being deceptive). The ending was… something else also. It’s nothing like your regular thriller twists.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross, published by Bookouture
This book had me from page one, I did not want to out it down! I loved the plot, the characters, the twists. And I did not see the ending coming. This is a gripping tale of two sisters, Lauren and Ellie, told from Lauren's point of view, mostly present day but some past to give history and details. Lauren is living her life married to Alex, needing his constant support as she waits to hear news on her sister's disappearance years ago. Alex also has a brother who has gone missing. As the story unfolds we learn the truth of what actually happened years ago.
I loved this book, the plot, the characters, I was on the edge of my seat! Just awesome!

My Perfect Husband by Georgina Cross is an outstanding psychological thriller which left me lost for words in its brilliant twist. Seriously, a "no waaaay" moment
Lauren is married to Alex, a man she met at a grief management meeting. Both were attending due to the loss of their siblings; Ellie, Lauren's sister had been snatched while in New Orleans, Clive, Alex's brother had disappeared one day without a word. Alex and Lauren had built a friendship, begun dating and eventually married. The Audiobook opens on their usual morning routine of Alex bringing Lauren a mug of coffee in bed, her favourite mug.
Lauren was the envy of her social group. Alex always did the most thoughtful things here and there, coffee, flowers, support. He was even there when her fear of heights took over and soothed her anxiety every time the phone rang. The phone rings, it's a New Orleans number, is this finally the answer Lauren had been waiting so many years for? The question that broke her mothers heart and was still unanswered when she died. The question that was still unanswered when the couple admitted Lauren's father to a care home as they were not able to look after him as well as they could have
Yes, this is the answer, but it also comes with a photograph, a photograph that will change Lauren's and the couples lives forever
Oooooof! This is not even the half of it and I will stop the describing so as not to give anything away.
Georgina Cross weaves a very intricate web, delicate, graceful, but strong as steel and snags the reader in like a spider does with a fly and likewise, there is no way out, you are gripped until the last page. Sorry to use such a cliche, but they exist for a reason. The tplot twists were blinding and will leave your head spinning in the best way. And what is more, they don't stop til you close the book or press stop on the audiobook. Is Georgina Cross going on the "auto must read yes indeed" list? Um yes!
Brilliant, simply brilliant
Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture and Georgina Cross for this exceptional ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

This book was fast paced from the very beginning! And it definitely keeps you guessing.
While the story line felt familiar to other books I enjoyed it thoroughly. It finishes with a cliffhanger so the potential of a sequel would be interesting!

The synopsis of this book sounded so promising and it had some of my favourite tropes such as unreliable narrator and dual time line however I was so disappointed pretty much from start to finish.
I did enjoy the initial twist at the beginning of the book but apart from that the storyline felt stale and there was no plot at all until about 40% in then it fell flat again until 80% but by that time I was so bored and disconnected that I just didn’t care anymore.
I’m all for descriptive writing but I felt the book could have been reduced by at least 100 pages just with the amount of excessive description of the surroundings which I felt was unnecessary and dragged it out just to make up the word count.
The storyline did remind me very slightly of ‘Pretty Girls’ by Karin Slaughter so if you loved that book then you may enjoy this one too!
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Georgina Cross for this ARC in return for an honest review

This one just didn’t work for me at all! The first half of the read just didn’t align with the second half. It felt disjointed and like 2 different storylines. The reactions of the character’s just didn’t flow throughout the read. I found Lauren to be such an annoying character throughout. Her dialogue felt so repetitive throughout the read. In the second half it felt like the storyline got bizarre and it didn’t conjoin with the actions and thoughts of how the storyline started out. I found it a slog to get through and it didn’t engage me and just seemed drawn out to the point I wasn’t inclined to pick it up. Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #HerPerfectHusband

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I normally do enjoy books by this author but this one did not hit the mark for me. Lauren's sister, Ellie, goes missing and she searches for her for years. She is married to Alex who has a brother, Clive, missing also and it somehow connects them. The detective who is working on the case sends Lauren pictures that are found on her deceased sister's body. When Lauren sees that her husband is in the picture with Ellie, she realizes all the trust with her husband is gone. I really felt like the book moved really slow which is not the norm for this author. I also felt like some things were a little far fetched.

Thank you, Geogina Cross, Bookouture, and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book. The opinions are my own and freely given.
Lauren's younger sister, Ellie, disappeared years ago. She spent the last 10 years searching for her. She met Alex at a support group. His brother, Clive, also disappeared and he and Lauren married. Now, Ellie's body has been found with a picture of Alex in her pocket. Now Lauren has to figure out if Alex knows what happened all those years ago.
I liked this book but at times I just wanted to shake Lauren. She kept a secret from Alex too, but she was mad at him. I felt like the end just ended. I don't know what exactly, but I felt like I needed a little bit more, although I am not sure how else it could have ended.
I overall this was a good story and not really how I expected it to play out.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘My Perfect Husband’ written by Georgina Cross in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Lauren has been married to Alex for eight years and he’s been there for her when her younger sister Ellie disappeared twelve years ago. When Lauren gets a phone call from a detective saying that Ellie’s body has been found in a derelict house she’s shocked, and especially when he sends her a copy of two photos found in her pocket. The photos show Ellie with her husband Alex and another man sitting either side of her. How can Lauren trust Alex any more when he’s always said he’d never met her sister?
‘My Perfect Husband’ is a domestic drama where the main characters, Lauren and Alex, have both lied and withheld information that would have helped in the search for Ellie. The storyline is interesting although slow at times and there’s some repetition. I didn’t like the characters so was unable to empathise with the situation they’d found themselves in and I was jumping over pages hoping to find the excitement I’d expected. It’s an okay novel, easy to read with twists and turns and a surprising conclusion, but it didn’t grab me and when I put it down I didn’t rush to pick it up again. I’m sure it will attract lots of readers but I’m afraid it just wasn’t for me.

Such a gripping, edge of your seat thriller. Constantly wanting to know what happened next, who done it, how did it happen, what actually happened. This is all explained in a one person POV taking you from future to past you can understand the back story of events leading up the current day!

I love Georgina Cross' last book so I was excited to get approved for this latest book, My Perfect Husband. Tons of secrets throughout the book and I thought I would love this more than I did but maybe it's just me. I found myself skimming pages and I hate to do that.

“Am I frightened of my own husband? Do I have reason to be?”
From the first page I was hooked.
I read this super fast. It’s a true page turner. Once you start it you won’t put it down.
I’m so impressed on how the author literally has me thinking one thing then something completely different. This story is full of twists.
It’s definitely worth a read.
*murder mystery
*disappearance
*set in New Orleans
*secrets so many secrets
12 years after Ellie sister goes missing. The police find her body. They also find photos. In them photos are the dead sister and Ellie husband.!!!
This story will keep you guessing. You think you know but you don’t. And I love that about this story. This story had me tense 😬 but in the best way.
I highly recommend. Thanks to Bookouture for the arc.
My Perfect Husband Releasing May 16th.

I was entertained for most of the book. It is face paced. Cross does and great job with the description of places and I was able to put myself with the narrators/characters. I did not see the ending happening and I loved it.

This book was an enjoyable read. It flowed smoothly and the storyline was interesting yet familiar. I would recommend this book to others.

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Georgina Cross for providing me the experience to read "My perfect husband" ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I started reading - and I could not set it down until I was down. The thriller "My perfect husband" contains everything you want from a suspense filled read, from riddles about the content up to many twists and turns that have you halt in your process of reading and re read to make sure you got the information you just got infused with right.
Lauren and Alex seem to be a perfect couple, bonded by shared trauma about missing a sibling and the search for them, yet one day their lives are turned around, Lauren's sister was found and her husband is a prime suspect.
A journey begins where Lauren questions everything, her husband and herself, all in the name of justice for her sister ... all while very carefully hiding her own secrets.
This book sucked me in, when I say I could not put it down, then I mean exactly that, sleep has become overrated with my desire to finish, to unravel the mysterie of this book ...
ONLY TO BE LEFT WITH MORE QUESTIONS.
I really wish there would be a continuation after the cliffhanger that came at the end, I would love to see how this story comes to a final end without loose openings.
The book is set to be published on the May 16th, 2024.

Lauren and Alex run into each other in a grief counseling group that meets at a church since they both suffer the loss of their siblings under mysterious circumstances. For over ten years now, Lauren has been praying to get any tiny bit of information about her sister Ellie, bearing her location. However, the waiting ended when the police called her to inform that they had located Ellie’s body. In the depth of the case, she discovers what she has never expected – Alex is the one who will guide her to the truth about Ellie’s disappearance. The information that Lauren herself possesses is the last clue that might reveal the truth about her sister’s fate. As she buries the evidence, she discovers that the reality of Ellie’s vanishing is even more shocking than she could have imagined. I highly recommend it!
