I absolutely LOVED this book! The story and plot line flowed so perfectly and I loved the different timelines that pulled everything together! There were so many different thoughts going through my head as I got into the mystery but I absolutely wasn’t expecting some of the reveals! The ending was absolutely perfect and left me wanting more. This was such a great read and I highly recommend checking it out when it comes out on May 16th!
Thank you to the publisher (Bookouture) and author (Georgina Cross) for this ARC!
Title- My Perfect Husband
Rating-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lauren has been waiting for this call for 12 years, expecting news about her missing sister Ellie. But the phone call she received was not what she expected. Instead of answers, it raised more questions, like why was there a picture of her husband in Ellie's pocket? Lauren didn't meet her husband until a year after Ellie went missing, so why did Ellie have his picture?
Another thriller that everyone over at @thrillerbookloversthepulse can’t stop talking about. I read this one really fast, my curiosity wouldn’t let me put this one down. I didn’t get the plot twist at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.
My Perfect Husband was such a phenomenal thriller, introducing twists throughout the book that turn the story in the blurb for the book into something far deeper and sinister, if that’s possible.
Lauren and Alex are a married couple who were brought together in a grief support group having both suffered through the disappearances of siblings, Lauren with her sister Ellie and Alex with his brother Clive. Years later Lauren gets the call she was dreading - her sister’s remains have been discovered in New Orleans. But what becomes more soul crushing is that a picture was found amongst her sister’s belongings indicating the morning of her death she was hanging out with Alex and his brother Clive. What follows is hard to believe but adds a lot more depth and mystery to the case and Lauren’s struggle to understand who Alex really is.
I can’t reveal more without spoiling this but it was a great thriller that I think will have many fans of the genre not guessing at what actually happened to Ellie.
This book was able to fool me, I did not see the twist coming. This book had me hooked from page one. I like that it was told in dual timeline. There is the current timeline, and a timeline that flashes back to when Lauren & Ellie, her sister were younger. If you’re looking for a gripping, twisting psychological thriller, this is it.

Lauren met her husband Alex in a grief counseling group. They were both grieving their siblings who went missing never to be seen since. Now it's 12 years later and Lauren gets a phone call that her sisters body has been found, with a picture of Alex in her pocket. He said he never met her so why did he lie and what else can he possibly be hiding?
This synopsis is so intriguing. The story stars with a punch and really hooks you in. There are so many secrets being kept and the book really takes you on a ride to sheds all the layers of this mystery. I loved the setting in New Orleans and the author did a great job describing the scenery. It really felt like I was there.
The ending was good but it felt a little unfinished. I wish there had been a little more to it. But overall I enjoyed it.
I give it 3,5 stars
I stayed up just to finish this book it's that good. Laurens's sister disappeared years ago she went to a support group where she found and married Alex who also had his brother just vanish without a trace. She thought she could rely on him and trust him. When they find her sisters body in a derelict house there are a couple of photographs showing who she was with. Staring back at her with her sister is her husband and his borhter. Lauren and Alex both have secrets about what happened and when it gets out will alter their lives.
A really good book that I read in over 1 day.
This was fantastic. The twists and turns made my head spin and I didn’t want to put it down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
This book was a good one. I especially love neighborhood centered thrillers, which led me to request this book. It's not as good as Shari Lapena or Chandler Baker novel, but I still enjoyed it.

Lauren and Alex are happily married. United by grief after the disappearance of their siblings, their chance encounter at a support group blossomed into a loving marriage. But for Lauren, the pain of losing her sister, Ellie, twelve years ago, never truly faded.
Then, a call from the New Orleans PD brings a shocking twist. Ellie's remains have been found, and a glimmer of hope emerges – two photographs were discovered in her pocket. Could they hold clues to her disappearance? A wave of emotions washes over Lauren as she identifies one of the men in the photos – her own husband, Alex!
This is the type of thriller that you can read in one sitting. There's red herrings and twists throughout that kept me very interested. A fast-paced read filled with suspense, it will have you racing to uncover the truth alongside Lauren.
If The Housemaid, The Wife Between Us or The Woman in the Window had you totally gripped until late at night, then you’ll love this utterly unputdownable psychological thriller from Amazon charts bestseller Georgina Cross.

Thank you Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse, Georgina Cross and Bookouture for an advanced copy. My Perfect Husband comes out May 16, 2024!
This book was not as fast paced as I’d hoped; it was actually quite gut wrenching the further I got into it. But I wouldn’t say it had me on the edge of my seat, that’s not a bad thing, this just isn’t that type of book.
I would have liked there to have been a few more twists and turns earlier on in the story, but what the book did do was keep me engaged to find out what actually happened.
When reading a thriller, I always write down a few theories of what I think happens and I didn’t guess at all with this one.
It’s a good story just not what I expected it to be! I’d keep a lookout for future books by Georgina though.
Thank you NetGalley for this e-ARC.
Alex and Lauren meet at a grief counselling group, because each of them has lost a sibling. Now they have a great marriage.
Lauren is deeply appreciative of the fact that her husband put the search for her sister front and centre of his efforts while searching for his brother alongside her family's search for her sister.
The only problem is, as Lauren is about to find out, Alex knows a lot more about her sisters disappearance than she thinks. But then, as it turns out, so does Lauren...
This book is twistier than a pretzel, and will probably appeal to most readers. For me, at one point, the drama went over the top. And I began to find both of the key characters tiresome. But as I said, I think it will have widespread appeal.
Thank you for the opportunity to preview My Perfect Husband.
This my first time reading this authors books.
I think this is more of a drama than a thriller.
Written in a way like a hallmark movie this book has and holds plenty of secrets and twists with a very good ending.
3 stars.
Alex and Lauren meet in grief counseling group, both grieving of their siblings who have disappeared. Twelve years go by and still no sign of her sister. One morning she gets a phone call from the police, her sister’s remains have been found. What happened to Ellie? When the cops end up showing Lauren a picture that Ellie had on her, Lauren’s whole world turns upside down. Can Ellie trust her husband? I thought the book was going to one way but it went a completely different direction. There was so much suspense. It just kept getting better with each chapter. I truly shocked by the ending! The twists were great! I’m looking forward to reading more books by Georgina.
Thank you Netgally, Georgina and Bookouture for the ARC!
This is a fast paced suspense novel that will keep you guessing the whole time. I enjoyed the suspense and twists! I wish it had more dialogue and less description. I also wish the chapters had titles to distinguish between past and present. I finished this within a day! Good book.
Lauren and Alex met at college and they both have something in common. They both lost a sibling. Lauren lost her sister and Alex lost his brother. Twelve years later Lauren get a call from the police in New Orleans a body has been found in an abandoned house and it's her sister Ellie. There are photos found on her body and Lauren is shocked to see that the man in the picture is her husband Alex. Did he have something to do with her disappearance?
A gripping read, 4 stars!
Such a bingeable twisty thriller!
I could not put this one down and it had so many twists I didn’t see coming. I loved the setting being in New Orleans.
12 years after her sister, Ellie, went missing, Lauren gets the call. Her body has been found. There were photographs found in Ellie’s pockets of her with two other people. When the detective sends over the photos, Lauren sees familiar faces with her sister.
Such a wild ride. You are not going to want to put this one down. Definitely recommend to all of my psychological thriller fans.
Thank you to Thriller Book Lovers for having me on this tour.
I loved the first two-thirds of My Perfect Husband. I thought during that time that the character of Lauren was well written. I found it to be not a thriller or fast paced at all, but more of a family drama. Which suited me just fine, although I would have been happy either way.. Then it became something else that really didn't grab me. Also, the title didn't seem to suit the book at all. There seem so many good options based on certain aspects of this book, which I won't spoil. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
Just WOW! Georgina Cross delivers another masterpiece! This was a fantastic thriller that kept me flipping pages long into the night. It’s the perfect story to fall into, and feel like I’m a part of it all. Strong characters, each on their own mission. I thought I had it figured out but boy was I wrong. Packed with tension, secrets and so many lies. . Creepy and captivating! Absolutely loved it.
Thank you NetGalley, Georgina Cross and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.
I really like this author and have read quite a few of her books. My Perfect Husband is the story of Alex and Lauren, who are married. They met in college, bonding over the fact that they both have a missing sibling. Lauren's sister Ellie, and Alex's brother, Clive, both went missing 12 years ago. Lauren wakes up and receives a call from the NOLA police department that they found the remains of her sister. In Ellie's pocket were photos that didn't get destroyed in the 12 years Ellie has been dead. In the photo are Alex and Clive. Alex has never mentioned to Lauren that her knew her sister or even met her. But Lauren is hiding some secrets herself.
The book takes us on a journey to NOLA to claim Lauren's sister's body and try to find out more information. This is a fast paced book but sort of repetitive. I felt like I was reading and reading and getting nowhere. What really made this a 3 star book for me was the ending. Some will like it. I did not. Thus the 3 stars. Also just a tad too drawn out.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I greatly appreciate it. I do recommend this book as it is a good thriller, that I just happened to view as middle of the road.
