This book is 2 plots combined. The first part is exciting with lots of twists and turns that make it unpredictable and interesting. The second is easy to guess from early chapters, rather unbelievable and to be honest unnecessary.

Absolutely loved this story! Maybe because I listened to it on audio, I did not see those twists coming!

This was so good and I think it’ll be my new book to recommend to everyone!

This was a wonderful paced thriller. We had the steady paced story building and then bang whiplash with all the goings on. It kept me hooked from the off. The twists I did not see coming at all! The writing was very cleverly done and all the information provided weaved together perfectly! A very engaging and enjoyable read

I went in blind with this one as I’d forgotten what the blurb entailed. There is a lot going on in the way of storylines and I don’t think it worked as some felt a little mixed up, others weren’t followed through on and left hanging and some just weren’t needed. It felt like the author was trying to do too much instead of just focusing on one or two. At times the style of writing could be very descriptive and I found my mind wandering a little. Some aspects of the storylines where obvious from early on and took away the suspense factor and didn’t leave much in the way of guesswork for the listener. As for the characters I can’t say I was overly bothered with any of them. Unfortunately there was just too many aspects of this listen that didn’t work so overall I just found it meh.

Megan Micheals is an ICU nurse and mum to a teenage daughter. Recently divorced she tries to keep her work and home life separate.
However, she has recently been assigned a patient, who is being treated after a fall from a bridge. She is in a serious condition. This patient draws memories of Megan’s younger sister who died when she was a teenager. She finds herself becoming drawn to this patient and her family.
During this there are several attacks on women happening around the area she lives. These attacks are escalating and Megan worries about her daughter home alone while she is working long shifts.

Megan then meets an old friend Natalie, who she not seen since High school years. It seems the friend is in trouble and has no one she can turn to for help. Megan tries to help her the best way she can.

Things then start to take a turn for the worse. Megan receives a phone call from someone claiming to have her daughter. Is this revenge for helping Natalie or is this something connected to the patient she is working with?

I enjoyed listening to this book, found it a little frustrating and confusing at times as the story unfolds I couldn’t quite work out the timings. I also couldn’t believe Megan would behave the way she was with everything going on.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins audio for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book. Its set up was engaging and I found myself flying through the first quarter. Unfortunately, the next 50% of the book was very slow and I struggled to get through it. It’s strange as there were so many different threads and storylines, there was so much going on but not enough at the same time. In classic Mary Kubica style, the ending ramped up and revealed twist after twist.

I did guess most of the twists, including the two big ones, but I enjoyed them nevertheless.

The audiobook - Andi Arndt did a wonderful job bringing this story and the characters to life.

A slow first half but absolutely gripping for the remainder. Brilliant narrator and smooth listen.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Audio for this free Advance Review Copy of She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubrica and narrated by Andi Arndt.

The premise hooked me and then the audiobook cover had me held captive. I was so thrilled when NetGalley and Harper Collins UK accepted me as an ARC reviewer.

The initial opening is interesting and draws you in. While the first half feels slow much of the time, it also brings in new information and offers bits and bobs which heighten the tension gradually. Then, roughly halfway through the listen, one big twist comes, and then lots follow in quick succession and the pace picks up immensely. From this point I just had to finish the listen.

The many and varied threads are tied up by the end, and the narrator is easy to listen to and great with the different voices. Though the ending is a little open, it's not a cliffhanger and it left me satisfied enough.

I can't give too much away because I don't want to put in any accidental spoilers. Suffice it to say, this audiobook is well worth a listen, and is both soothing (with the narrator's voice) and gripping. This listen gets a high four stars from me.

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚

She's Not Sorry @marykubica

Thank you to @netgalley for allowing me an early advanced copy of this book ahead of release.

I can't quite believe this is my first Mary Kubica book as I've often seen her books about but for some reason this is the first one I've read.

The book is told through Meghan's eyes as we follow her through her day to day life. She has a lot going on being an ICU nurse but she's also newly divorced and sharing custody of her 16 year old daughter Sienna. She is assigned the care of a suicide patient, Caitlin who jumped of a bridge. She's in a critical condition and it's not known wether she will survive yet. She's drawn to this patient as she gets to know the family and they start to reveal what kind of person Caitlin was. But Meghan is sure she so a strange man hanging about Caitlin's room and starts to wonder if maybe she was pushed instead.

There's also a man out hunting women in the streets and Meghan is increasingly concerned about a friend who she's just got back in touch with who is going through a difficult time. Are all these mysteries tied together?

I enjoyed the pace of the book and though this was well executed. With each chapter more and more things were revealed which kept me engaged and wanting to know where the story was going. I also love that the cover is quite haunting and I feel it's a good fit for the tone of the book. It was a great and thrilling ride and one I enjoyed. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I listened to the audiobook and Andi Arndt is one of my favorite narrators anyway so I knew she would be fabulous with this one! There were tons of twists and surprises around every corner, some I saw coming and was happy to see play out and some that came out of nowhere! Excellent book, highly recommend this one and this author in general!

This brilliant book starts with an explosive prologue and doesn't let up!

Meghan is an ICU nurse, going through a divorce and has a teenage daughter, so it's safe to say she has a busy life!

When a woman comes in to the ICU unit having jumped from a bridge, Meghan feels drawn to her. Caitlin's family put their trust in Meghan and eventually confide that they don't believe it was a suicide attempt: was Caitlin pushed?

There are many elements to the story, including Meghan's relationships with her ex-husband Ben, her daughter Sienna and her old schoolfriend Nat, who she reconnects with at a divorce support group. There is also a man hunting local women and Meghan fears for Sienna's safety. How do all of these connect together and to Caitlin?

The intensity gradually builds and when the first twist dropped, it literally took my breath away! Absolutely brilliant in every way!

I listened to the audiobook and the narration by Andi Arndt was totally on point bringing the brilliantly written characters to life.

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Mary Kubica and Harper Collins for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This book had me hooked from the start! The book presents the main character, Meghan, as both a mother and a nurse leading to characters both overlapping and staying separate in these two, personal and work roles. These characters are wonderfully described and so realistic you can easily imagine them and the relationship they have with each other. Overall, this book is cleverly written, I even had to take a break at some points to let it set in how quickly the narrative changed and how everything easily and smoothly slotted into place. I instantly want to read more books from this author and this one definately won’t be the last!

Great, steady story to dip in and out of as an audiobook. Until that twist, then I just had to listen at every opportunity. Absolutely fantastic. Will be recommending to everyone.

In this book we meet dedicated ICU nurse, Meghan Michaels, recently divorced from Ben and primary parent for their teenage daughter, Sienna.

It is a slow burn novel, gearing you up by involving you in everything Meghan has going on at home and in work - a 16 year old hormonal daughter taking boys into the apartment, a rapist on the loose in their city and caring for a coma patient who seems to have jumped off a bridge.

Although the ending was predictable, for myself, I enjoyed this book and the build up to part 2!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

She’s not Sorry she read this! But truthfully I was feeling a bit sorry for reading it until it got to the halfway point. The first half was really slow and a little bit boring, once I got about 50% in tho the twists and turns kept coming and I couldn’t put it down. It was definitely a book of two halves and leaves me still on the fence about this author.

Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for my audiobook version of She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica in exchange for an honest review.
I was hooked on this book from the first 5 minutes of listening to it. Kubica did a great job of building up tension through the book until all is revealed at the end. The book is done in 2 parts and when part 2 came around it was all go!
I did end up guessing the twist that was at the end but I was still tensing up towards the end.
Andi Arndt did an amazing job of narration, brining every character to life!

I binged this one in one sitting. This was a well done audiobook. The story is engaging and the narration is done in a way that keeps you interested and the characters are clearly identified
Meghan is a recently divorced ICU nurse and has custody of their teenage daughter Sienna. The divorce has left her with lots on her plate and full of self doubt but the divorce was her choice so while she has to deal with the report of it, it was what she wanted. At work, Meghan is assigned to care for Caitlin, who was brought in after suffering a traumatic brain injury as a result of jumping from a raised pedestrian walkway. Soon the police come asking questions and then it seems like maybe Caitlin didn’t jump after a,k, but was pushed. And with a man stalking the neighborhoods around Meghan’s apartment, attacking them in their homes, and now it seeming that Caitlin was a victim too, Meghan feels unsafe both at home and at work.
There’s a lot going on and a lot to keep up with and then BAM twist. Then BAM twist again. Some of them you see coming but others you don’t. I read a lot of thrillers, and they all start to blend together after a while. this one actually does something different and I’ll be recommending it for a while. Slow burn with intensity building and lots of red herrings. Add this to your spring TBR asap

Thanks to Park Row and NetGalley for this ALC in exchange for my review.

This was excellent, an absolute binge read/listen. It drew me in immediately and I listen to this in two days, I found myself creating things to clean/ walk to so I could stick my headphones on.

Brilliantly paced and plotted, this might be my favourite of Kubica's books to date. It kept me guessing and the characters were well developed and drawn. The undercurrent of tension woven throughout was well done and I really enjoyed how all the stands of this story were brought together.

The narration was excellent too, recommend.

Oh this book was good… so good! i shouldn’t be surprised anymore, Mary Kubica books always knock it out of the park and She’s Not Sorry was no different. It kept me up late wondering what on earth was going to happen next and how it all tied together.

You really don’t need to know too much about this story before going in. Just know that it is a very cleverly written thriller, you will never guess it so don’t even try. The twists will make your head spin and make you question everything 😊

I listened o this thanks to Harper Collins UK Audio and the narrator, Andi Arndt did an amazing job. She really brought the characters to life and made me want to keep listening to it.

Just brilliant!

**Listened to the audio book**

I read a LOT of thriller and mystery books so it takes a lot to 'wow' me! This book really impressed me!
It was told in such a clever way - the structure of the plot really makes this book. The plot is very good, but the structure makes this really special, and when you realise what Kubica has done, you're like 'wow'!

The narrator was great, but would have loved to have had multiple narrators to really bring this story to life.

This book would make an excellent film!! Here's hoping a tv or film adaptation happens, as I would love to see it!

This is my second Mary Kubica book and I really enjoyed it, there seemed to be two stories or rather one main one and then a couple of subplots. The twist comes around three quarters of the way and I didn't see it coming.

The story is about Megan, a nurse who is a single mum with a daughter Sienna who bumps into an old college friend, Nat at a support group for divorcees. She seems to be suffering with domestic abuse from her husband and Megan takes her under her wing, shows her support until things start to get a little weird.

I won't say any more as I don't want to give anything away but this is a great audiobook.
