This book is inspired by the story of Rumpelstiltskin but make it romantasy. This book I mostly liked, but I felt like the story was pretty cookie cutter fae romance and even got a little too close to details that I’ve read in other romantasies that I liked better and I wish it had done more with the Rumpelstiltskin inspiration. Overall thought it was a good story and the cliff hanger at the end did leave me wanting to read the next one.

I’m a sucker for a good retelling and this one delivered! A Rumpelstiltskin retelling with a sexy broody fae? Yes please! The pace and flow of the story was great, as was the writing. The plot itself was a bit predictable, but in an endearing kind of way. I loved our heroine and her morally grey fae captor. I hope our lovelies get the happy ending they deserve! Will definitely be reading book 2!

While I really wanted to loved this, the book just wasn’t for me. The plot line felt like it was all over the place. It lacked world building and character development. I tried and finished it though.

Pretty well balanced between fantasy plot and the romance plot. The level of spice was also well balanced with the rest of the book. I really enjoyed the world building--the idea of a human alchemist using magical science to create wares to sell at a faerie market is very unique, even if some of the other elements of the book felt a little inspired by other fantasy series (after all, it's a beauty and the beast type book, so why wouldn't it be similar to other adaptations?) For fans of ACOTAR.

This book I inhaled the characters were very relatable but that CLIFFHANGER! I can’t wait till part two comes out

This is a great debut story. I like how everything goes evolving during the reading. For me, it was a good reading. If it wasn't because I had to work, I read this book in one seating. The story keeps me attracted, waiting to know more and more. I'm ready for book #2.

Excellent debut and fabulous start to a new fantasy series! Great world-building, enemies-to-lovers, and a human/fae twist on Beauty & the Beast meets Rumplestiltskin.

I enjoyed Ruskin's character and his story arc more than that of Eleanor. I became impatient with her thoughtless impulsiveness - you would think after it kept getting her into trouble, she would stop and think twice the next time.

Dustan and Helima are terrific supporting characters, and their stories - what little we've learned thus far - are just as interesting.

Part One ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to reading Part Two.

I absolutely loved this Rumpelstiltskin retelling, though it also was giving Beauty and the Beast vibes! The writing was fantastic and I was hooked from the beginning and it did not let up! Ruskin is the big bad fae prince that your mama warns you about, he's known for his brutal deals with humans but is there more to him? Yes, yes there is, and I am utterly and completely, hopelessly in love with him! Eleanor is the best kind of heroine, she's clever and strong, so passionate about her alchemy and how it can help the people in her village. One of my top books of the year, it was an instant buy once I finished the arc because I will wanna revisit again and again!

Little miss Rumpelstiltskin who tells she can spin gold.., I did like the idea and please put faes and a runaway from a marriage.. But the book also could be a little bit better, the idea was great but it felt empty in some parts... The attraction was more than good but the exploration of all around the environment could have been better

It live up to expectation that this is similar with ACOTAR with the spark of “Beauty & The Beast” and mostly romance with a hint of fantasy. Not the other way around. A super light read, if you are asking. The characters and the world building of the realm is a so so. The magic itself has its limit never disappoint me. Then, the storyline and hint of plot twist got me rather than my speculation. It’s good and it just the beginning of the Trilogy!

<b><u>The story</u></b> start on Eleanor point of view as the daughter of the famous healer. She live on her mother’s shadow when she grew up and her creation on the market piqued the interest on certain male. The famous human male in the neighborhood which he is quite a bothersome (for my liking) and a prick at that. He somehow sold her off — implicitly and she needs to pay it off by making things to the human King. However, the human King has different agenda and trap her into something unexpected. Because her desperation, Eleanor start to enchant the ruthless Fae and offer a bargain and a deal with him. Nevertheless, the Fae King also has different agenda to her inside the bargain. That’s where the story starts.

The storyline itself is quite amazing and went well with the flow. The pouring of the magic, creatures, unfinished story within the story and how the plot twisted got me hooked. Even though the ending is quite easy and I personally need more of background stories

Some characters have pretty huge development. My favorite is Destan. He is such a dork. The most annoying one is Thacht, if I am allowed to, I prefer to kick his ass myself. The other supporting characters has their own way to make this story more interesting.

In addition, my knowledge about Physics and Chemical need to expand because I completely lost when they talk about this in the book lol

<b><u>Conclusion</u>/b> is this book is great for light reading romantasy. Especially if the reader is looking for ACOTAR and Gild similar storyline (I haven’t read the Gild yet so I don’t know, but I have the theories anyway lmao). Don’t expect much about the world building because it’s a so so, but for the twisted plot is better than my expectation. The moral story of this book is pretty good as well, even though it needs to dig deeper. However, for the first book of the trilogy, it is good enough.

This is a Beauty and the Beast meets Rumpelstiltskin retelling. This concept is awesome and fun! However, it is portrayed as a dark Fantasy but I didn’t get those vibes. Maybe in 1 scene?

The flow was off for me. It wasn’t smooth and found myself rewording sentences in my head to make it flow better which pulled me out and away from the story. This also slowed down my reading progress making the book feel slow.

It’s worth a try but I will not be continuing the story.

The Court That Bleeds Gold is a retelling of Rumplestiltskin and Beauty and the Beast with a Fae twist. As far as retellings go, this one is quite unique. I loved the world building that took place in this book. It definitely pulls the reader in. Further, the author conveys the characters' feelings in a way that made me feel the emotions deeply within my very being.

I'm definitely a new fan of Zara Storm and look forward to reading much more from her.

I've never read this work before. But it was so nice and relaxing after reading utter garbage on here man. Like book therapy, the plot is more original. The power hierarchy makes sense dimensions are simple. High fantasy gold litterly.

The world building is beyond fabulous. I’m so glad time and creativity was spent to draft the debut novel of a series. The plot line leans a little heavy into beauty and the beast backbone. That is why this is not 5 stars.

For books 2 and 3, I hope for original continuation of the storyline and character development.

If you loved the hunger games and ACOTAR, definitely try The Court that Bleeds Gold. I’ll be finishing the series for sure.

A fun fae story that makes me happy I jumped on the dark romance train. Zara does a great job drawing the reader in and I can’t wait for the sequel

Shades of Beauty and the Beast hover through an imaginative and complex paranormal mystery and building romance. Twists and turns, and many secrets move at a relentless pace, until the very end, where you are left on a cliff ... not a fan of cliffhangers, but this one is worth it.
