In this volume, the Twisted Wonderland: Heartslabyul arc comes to an end. Though many questions remain--which I assume will be explored further in future arcs (two more are currently in the works)--I'm glad we got a more fully fleshed out backstory for Riddle. There is also a happy ending (very in line with Disney) to tie the main, if simple, plot together.

On the whole, I believe this series is best suited for fans of the Twisted Wonderland game itself. For those only reading the manga, it is a very simplistic series about friendship and discipline; apart from Disney references and Yana Toboso's beautiful artwork, there isn't a very deep message. This is a series meant purely for quick, easy entertainment and lots of visual eye candy. If the series, like Alice in the Country of Hearts by QuinRose (another manga based on a game), had more volumes, perhaps there would have been room to explore the world and characters more deeply, especially Chenya, the Cheshire Cat, and Night Raven College's rival school.

Other questions remain as well--will the reader learn more about Dire Crowley, the corvid headmage of the school? Will Grim ever become the mage he so desires to be? Will Yu ever get back home for that kendo tournament? That said, I am glad that Riddle became more of a protagonist throughout the series; by the end, he was the most fleshed out character of the set. Everyone was fun in their own ways, though, and chaotic e-boy Cater was definitely a personal favorite.

I really enjoy this series. I liked the dive back into Riddle's childhood. As is my one point of feedback for these - the artwork is super muddy during the battle scenes. Other than that, it's really nice.

Another great adaptation of the mobile game with a bit of added content. I am sad that the Yana Toboso books are done in this universe. But I am excited to see the next illustrators for this series, and how they adapt the store from the Mobile Game.

The illustrations were stunning and goodness the emotions were just so good !!! Also the flashback when they were little was so flipping cute !! I loved how well they adapted the game and gave life to new parts and embellished others !! Truly such a good story and I can’t wait for more !!

I'm delighted that I chose to read this alongside Disney Twister-Wonderland: Rose-Red Tyrant as this is the exact same story in manga form!
It was fab seeing the characters illustrated and swopping between the manga and the novel gave me a deeper understanding of the characters thoughts and feelings that might have been lost had I just read the manga. Reading the manga also gave me a better understanding of the cool way each character was depicted, often quite different from how I had imagined them.
The story is fun as we follow a bewildered Yuya, who has been transported to Twisted-Wonderland from our human world and sticks out like a sore thumb having no magical ability. Calamity ensues wherever he goes, and he make friends who are equally chaotic and disruptive. Super Fun!

A great conclusion to the series. It was rally cool to see all the different types of magic on display as everyone tries to get Riddle back under control.

Yana Toboso's Disney's Twisted-Wonderland, Vol. 4 masterfully deepens the intrigue and drama at Night Raven College, focusing on the volatile Heartslabyul housewarden Riddle Rosehearts. As Yu navigates his new life as a student, he faces the daunting challenge of Riddle's magical and emotional breakdown. Joined by Grimm, Ace, Deuce, Trey, and Cater, Yu confronts the chaos Riddle unleashes, providing a thrilling and tension-filled narrative. Toboso’s intricate illustrations and dynamic action sequences vividly bring the story to life, while the exploration of Riddle's backstory adds depth and complexity to his character.

The volume shines in its portrayal of character development and relationships. Yu's leadership and determination stand out, and the camaraderie among the group offers both levity and strength to the plot. Each character's unique contributions highlight their growth and solidify their bonds. Despite some rushed pacing and the challenge it poses for new readers, the volume's rich storytelling and stunning artwork make it a compelling read. Disney's Twisted-Wonderland, Vol. 4 successfully blends drama, action, and emotional depth, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this enchanting series.

I am always blown away by the amazing artwork in this graphic novel series. This collection is a super quick read, but it does give background on why Riddle acts the way he does. I think that teens will enjoy the continuation of this series. I appreciate getting more background into this fantastic game.
Thank you to Viz Media and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this graphic novel.

VIZ Media provided an early galley for review.

Following up after volume 1, volume 2 and volume 3 of this series, once again we're back to this ongoing manga adventure.

The creative team of Wakana Hazuki and Sumire Kowono are back again, delivering the quality that has made me a big fan of this series since its start. We get five chapters in this volume as they close out the Book of Heartslabyul. The action picks up right where we left off, with the threat of Riddle unleashed. We also learn how he came to be such a rules obcessed person.

Overall, it was a nice end to this story arc. I really hope we see more of this world with other houses in this school of magic. There is plenty of potential to keep the series going for a long time.

This series is so well done. The Disney, the drama, the action and the art. It's a fabulous manga that keeps you wanting to turn another page. Just one more becomes a whole book.

This is what I needed from this series! The drama! The action! Definitely uphill from the last volume. I'm looking forward to other works.
