I read this chapter book to my granddaughter who is a real animal lover. She would rate it 10 stars if possible. We enjoyed answering the trivia questions and actually got a few correct. Books like this make learning science fun. Since this is part of a book series, I need to find the first one to read as well. Hoping there will be more to come! Thanks to NetGalley, Books Go Social and the author for a copy to read and review.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was a very fun adventure. Kids will really enjoy the story and how fun and exciting it is. The book is very well written and will be a great read.
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for providing me with access to this ebook. As promised, here is my honest review:
5 full stars! This book lived up to my expectations and more importantly, to my daughter's expectations. The story is the perfect pace for children, includes a lot of educational information without making it read like a textbook, and provides students with relatable situations. Friendship is a huge theme in this book. The illustrations fit perfectly with the text and there was the perfect amount of them included. The chapters were short enough that you could read multiple in a sitting or allow for you to fit one in when you only have a few minutes to spare.
What a great little chapter book. It’s an easy read with lots of informative information about animals. Kinsley and her friends are at a camp called Camp Critter. Every day they are assigned a group and given a specific animal. Kinsley is known to know everything about all animals. However, the one she is given, she knows nothing about. It’s a corn snake named Jeffrey. She’s embarrassed to let her friends know she is literally clueless about snakes but is forced to say something when she thinks she has killed the snake. Along comes a boy she doesn’t know and all her friends think he’s a know it all. But Kinsley is forced to ask for his help because he does know about snakes and he helps her willingly figure out what’s wrong with her snake.
I love the dynamics between all the kids. They are positive role models and cheerleaders for all their group. Everything works out great in the end and all the kids are happy
I loved the trivia quiz they have and learned some new things about certain animals. Kids will like this and they can look up the quiz questions themselves to enhance the knowledge given in the book.
The artwork is funny, but it works.
I can see teachers, myself included, using this great book during class time.
Thanks you #netgalley #booksgosocial for the ARC OF #kinsleyandthecornsnake
