This book was slow for me to get into but I really enjoyed the pacing, the depth of the characters and how the author wove the story together!

This was a romantic novel about a woman- Sophie , who learns her estranged sister has died in an automobile accident. She’s surprised to find out that her sister had a baby-Alana, and even more surprised when a stranger knocks on her door and says that he’s Alana’s father. Now Samson and Sophie need to come up with a way they can both share raising Alana. The story itself was enjoyable and had some nice details, but the characters and events were just not developed enough. I never really got to know any of the characters and it was hard to find them likeable . The story had all the elements of a really good book but it just fell flat for me. The ending also felt very abrupt and rushed. Overall a fast romance that’s easy to read. Thank you NetGalley for the advance digital copy 3.5⭐️

This closed door romance has a lovely premise of A high powered career driven woman, Sophie whose life turns upside down when she suddenly becomes the guardian to her late sister's 8 month old daughter Alana. As this wasn't hard enough for Sophie ( who had a non existent relationship with her sister) out of the wood work crawls the baby's daddy Samson, who definitely wasn't going to play a passive role.

The plot is this micro agrresion and tension between them turns to love...

I loved the premise, I found myself not liking Sophie very much and really struggling to understand why she was so uni dimensionally portrayed. This Found family, Accidental dad trope had lots of promise but felt a little staccato at times, I really liked Samson and his desire to be present for Alana.

Sadly I couldn't relate to Sophie much and couldn't give this book a higher rating because of this,

While I found the initial premise to be interesting (woman is entrusted to a niece she didn't know existed after her sister dies suddenly), the execution is just not there. The pacing of the book is incredibly awkward as it is too long for a short story but not quite fleshed out enough for a novel. The characters were missing depth for me or any real examination of the emotions and feelings that would come from such an unexpected and tragic event. The dialogue just fell flat and didnt really show any conflict when there was plenty of room for it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book.

While I was after an easy read, The Baby Plan was a little too easy. While the plot is a sweet enough concept, the characters are all so one dimensional and there is very little character development, everyone just feels too nicey-nice that it's hard not to roll your eyes. Plus, pretty much nothing actually happens in the book. Any 'drama' is resolved incredibly quickly and I noticed a lot was glossed over generally. It's expected in this type of book that you'll see what's coming pretty easily but even so, it would have been nice to have at least some twists.

Perhaps one for you if you're after a short read that requires very little attention span.

THE BABY PLAN:
I love single dad romances, and although this isn't a pregnancy trope (which I've grown to love), this is kind of as close as you can get without 100% qualifying. unfortunately, I had many issues with this book that lead me to ultimately DNF. see below:

1) the love interest is blonde. no, just kidding. I mean I don't prefer blonde love interests, but I can get over it I promise. I'm really just joking (mostly).

2) the author did not pull of the emotional depth that this type of story requires. the heroine's sister tragically and suddenly dies, and although she had a complicated relationship with her sister, she remains completely apathetic towards her death. I don't think we needed her such an emotional reaction as breaking down crying, but I wanted some internal dialogue portraying some complex emotions nonetheless. on a similar note, she all of a sudden finds herself fin charge of an infant. her entire life was turned upside down, and although she was up for the task, we got nothing from the heroine in terms of grieving the life she previously had.

3) the heroine comes off as very unlikable right off the bat. the father shows up after only just learning he had a daughter 24 hours earlier, and she acts offended that he would even want to fight for custody of his own daughter. sorry sweetie, but as an aunt I really do believe you are LESS entitled to guardianship of a baby in comparison to the baby's father, who wants to be involved!

The Baby Plan is such a sweet read. It's a short and can easily be read in a day. The Baby Plan is a completely revised edition to Her Sister's Baby.

Sophie unexpectedly becomes the fill in mom to her sister's 8 month old baby. Thor, the Alana's father shows up and wants to be part of her life, too. Sophie and Thor come up with a plan for them to co-parent Alana. You'll need to read to find out how that goes!

This was a cute story, it was predictable but it was a quick and fun read. Thank you for allowing me to review this ARC.

An uplifting, sweet read in which I thoroughly enjoyed the main characters. I devoured this in one sitting and highly recommend to anyone who loves sweet romance reads with forced proximity.

The Baby Plan aka Her Sister's Baby is an adorable little read!!!!!!! I devoured this book & was rooting for Samson & Sophie the whole way.

When Sophie finds out her sister has died, she is given a surprise in the form of her baby niece, Alana. Enter Samson, Alana's dad. While sparks don't fly at the very beginning, the chemistry eventually shines through and THE BABY PLAN delivers the swoons.

THE BABY PLAN, both heartwarming and sweet is an easy read and while I would've loved to have seen some further character development, I enjoyed the book and the light feel of a cute storyline.

I don't know if it was because the book was so short, but I couldn't really connect to the characters as much as I would have liked to. I appreciate the forced proximity aspect of this book but that seems to be one of the few things I found myself enjoying. Overall, both characters needed more character development than they had been given.

The Baby Plan was a good book to pass the time, but otherwise, the plot and characters were completely forgettable. The plot vaguely reminded me of Katherine Heigl's movie "Life as We Know It." The characters felt a bit surface level and I was never able to quite connect with them. Like the story was skimming the surface of its true potential. I'd recommend as a quick beach read, but would not recommend if you're looking for something a bit deeper and more developed.

This was a sweet meet cute romance. This was a quick and easy read and it was easy to follow along.

Although I did like that it was a short and sweet read I think it could have been a bit longer so there could have been more character development, at times it felt rushed and I didn’t really connect with the characters.

Overall it had a good storyline!
