Even though flawed, I really liked the characters. I liked the way they grew personally while they grew together as a couple.
I had a really good time reading this novel.

The idea of this book was so good. Two complete opposites staying in one apartment over the course of the Wimbledon season, however it just went down hill from there lol

I’m going to the honest and say that this book was really not well written at all. It felt very childish and almost like a wattpad fan fiction of y/n and a famous tennis player and not in a good way.
This is in no way an enemies to lovers btw, they don’t hate each other at all they literally just are in a bad mood when they meet and then by day 2-3 they’re perfectly fine.
This book was so hard to get into from the start. The FMC is so unlikeable, I physically could not read more than one chapter in a single sitting.
She was so incredibly stupid at times it was laughable, renting out the apartment although it would breech her renters contract (like how did you not think of this), not assuming that Kieran was there as the new renter and more.
Their relationship sort of happened so randomly and over nothing like it just felt like a summer fling like i truly did not feel attached to their relationship nor was i worried when the third act breakup happened. I truly did not care for the romance at all. There’s no reality in which they actually stay together after Wimbledon
A perfect sports room com.
Loved Flora and the grumpy tennis player, Kieran.
A good plot and an easy fun read.
Match Point by Katherine Reilly is a Wimbledon romance and the story of Flora and Kieran.
Kieran O'Sullivan is a pro tennis player, and he is known as the bad boy of tennis. He travels to London to win a Grand Slam at Wimbledon. He is a very confident person and knows exactly what he wants and that sometimes comes across as cocky and arrogant. But the more I saw of him, the more I liked him. His management rents him an apartment near the tennis court and that’s how he meets Flora.
Flora is the total opposite from Kieran, and she is a journalist and aspiring artist, and she likes staying home and reading. She is looking for a fresh start and therefore wants to spend the summer at a quieter place outside of the city and therefore rents out her apartment to Kieran. The only problem is that her summer plans fall through, and she now has nowhere to stay and that provides the perfect only one bed situation.
Kieran and Flora become unintentional roommates and their world clashes, and they don’t like each other at first. But slowly their hate turns into love and Kieran is the one who falls first and that was so cute. The romance is sweet, and they actually fit very well together.
If you want to read a cute tennis romance, give this one a go. 4 stars.

Really enjoyed this. It was very sweet, an easy light read which can be devoured in one sitting. The characters and plot was great, it just didn’t feel unique or that memorable.
Katherine Reilly delivers a funny and sweet romance between a grumpy tennis player and a lost artist in "Match Point."
Flora's life has gone from bad to worse—from being cheated on to having the roof collapse on her holiday. Now, she has to share her one-bedroom flat with the grumpiest player in tennis.
I'm loving all the new sports romances popping up recently, and who'd have thought tennis could be so sexy? "Match Point" is a fun read to enjoy with your strawberries and cream this summer.
Sweet and cosy sports rom com.
When the holiday cottage Flora rents for her writing retreat cancels she has no option but to cancel the rental on her own flat. However the grumpy Irish tennis player refuses to leave and so left with no other option she starts sleeping on the couch. Soon things start to heat up but will this tennis romance be a perfect match?
This was a perfect beach read and tennis fans will love the talk about the sport which is central to the plot. I thought the characters were engaging and Kieran is especially compelling with his traumatic past and sweet nature. This book has some lovely grand gestures and is quick to read.
Nothing overly dramatic or different about the plot just a light read.
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for a chance to read an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
I never though I would be a tennis lover like I am right now after finishing this book!
Just a good book to read in the summer with all the vibes we should be looking for!
The London vibes were one of my favorite parts but the enemies to lovers delivered everything I expected!!
I am IN LOVE with both of them, omg!!
I am looking foward to read more by the author since I truly loved the writting
Thank you Aries and Aria for the ARC. The cover is soooo cute and as a former college tennis player, I was so excited for this tennis romance. Unfortunately the writing was a bit bland for me. 5 stars for a DNF as I cannot comment on the overall quality of the book.
Flora and Kieran are two lovable characters to follow. The banter between them was fantastic. I loved the immersion of tennis in the story. I have to admit, I don't know anything about tennis, but the descriptions were so good that they made me want to learn more. Likewise, I had a lot of fun reading this book and would love to read more works by the author.
Thank you so much, Aria e Aries and NetGalley for sending me this ARC!
Flora loses her job and walks in on her boyfriend having sex with the next door neighbour in the same day and after wallowing for a few months she decides it's time to start working on her graphic novel. So she books a month long stay in the Lake District and rents out her Wimbledon flat to someone for the duration of her trip which happens to coincide with the tennis championship.
But then the rental in the Lake District falls through when the roof collapses and she can't find somewhere at such short notice, she has no choice but to tell the person renting her flat that they'll have to go as she needs to say. What she doesn't realise is that the person renting her flat is Kieran O'Sullivan - the infamous tennis player with a temper. He refuses to leave her flat as he's booked it and paid for the month but Flora has nowhere to go so she stays too.
Initially they can't stand one another and they both try and push the other one to move out of the flat and into a hotel but it doesn't take long for them to forge a friendship which very quickly turns into something more. Flora is good for Kieran, he hasn't had someone on his side who believes in him in a long time and now with Flora, he's starting to believe in himself as well. She calms him and that helps him win his matches at Wimbledon, taking him through to the semi-finals and then the finals.
Not everyone is happy about their relationship though and Kieran's coach, Neil, and his own father, Brian, try to keep them apart. Going so far as to tell Flora that she's a distraction to him. They can't see that she's the reason he's playing as well as he is and why he's become much calmer on court.
There is a small break up but it last less than 24hrs before Flora makes her way to Kieran to profess her feelings for him. Despite the break up, I really enjoyed the story. There could have been a little more of the enemies to lovers aspect though and it would have been fun to see them try and push one another a bit further. trying to get the other one to move out with pranks or something along those lines. I feel like Neil and Brian should have got more of a comeuppance, especially Neil, as he was trying to drive them apart from the beginning, but he also was able to realise he was wrong. It would have been good to see Flora's smarmy ex get his comeuppance as well but nothing really happened with that storyline.
Thanks to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This book is a delightful blend of romance, humor, and sports, making it a highly recommended read for anyone looking for a charming and entertaining summer read.
The book centers around Flora Hendrix, who finds herself at a low point after losing her job and boyfriend, only to be stuck with tennis bad boy Kieran O'Sullivan. Their dynamic is delightful, and their interactions are filled with witty banter and undeniable chemistry. Both characters have faced significant hardships, yet together they dismantle their emotional barriers and build each other up, creating a relationship that is both heartwarming and authentic.
The sharp dialogue and engaging development of Flora and Kieran’s relationship kept me hooked, making it easy to root for them from the start.
Kieran's character stands out with his tough exterior and soft heart, while Flora's likability and resilience make her a character to cheer for. The backdrop of high-stakes tennis matches adds excitement, with the adrenaline palpable in the writing. The story’s humor, sprinkled with a bit of spice, balances the plot beautifully.
Despite my limited knowledge of tennis, the story’s charm and the characters’ chemistry made it a thoroughly enjoyable read! Kudos to Ms. Reilly on such a stunning debut.
I still don’t know if tennis romances are something for me but I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a sweet read but for me this was not an enemies to lovers. I loved the chemistry between Flora and Kieran and their support for each other. I highly recommend this book if you want to read a tennis romance this summer!
Thank you Netgalley and Aria & Aries for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to Aria and Aries, and NetGalley for the ARC.
I read this book in one sitting! I was so engrossed in the story, and swept up in all of the steamy chemistry. This was a 5 star read without a doubt. I think it may even be one of my favourite reads this year! A perfect book for any sports romance/tennis/Wimbledon fans this summer!
This books is described as enemies to lovers but I’d more place it as enemies, to friends, to lovers. Their ‘situation’ definitely progresses through the stages very quickly, but I liked that.
Kieran and Flora have seriously strong chemistry, even from the offset when they’re arguing and bickering. The spicy was … spicy for sure! She really became his anchor, helping him out of his own head for his matches.
You can really feel the tension of Wimbledon - my heart was racing for Kieran. I wouldn’t say I’m a massive tennis fan myself, but I really felt like I was there, sat on the edge of my seat, desperately rooting for Kieran to win.
I will always award extra points for an epilogue - I found this one to be super sweet and a perfect round off to the story.
Overall, this is, in my opinion, a must read for summer. Anyone who loves a sports romance book NEEDS to pick this one up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romance with its grumpy, reserved tennis hero and charming aspiring artist who get off on the wrong foot. I found myself racing through this book, eating up the tension between Kieran and Flora and a bit of light rivalry. Their relationship very soon developed and I loved to see them opening up to each other, bearing their vulnerabilities but also having loads of fun in each other’s company. This book has the spice, the baggage, and the forced proximity I need in a romance and it truly hit the mark.
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.
4.5 stars
This was such an addictive and fun read that I didn't want to put down. I'm a sucker for a forced proximity romance trope and this one hit the nail on the head. I loved the whole premise of this one and I really enjoyed watching the two navigate around each other while also getting to know each other.
Flora and Kieran were amazing characters and I absolutely loved their banter, their chemistry and in turn the spice! I loved watching them grow and chase after their dreams while also allowing their feelings to grow for one another. While this is enemies to lovers I would say it's definitely more grumpy x sunshine!
Honestly this was such a great romance that had me feeling all sorts of emotions. The tennis scenes were so detailed that I felt like I was at Wimbledon watching these matches. I definitely recommend picking this one up if you love sports romances!
I loved this so much. I loved the characters and was so invested in their relationship. This was the PERFECT mix of sport scenes and non sport scenes. The author does such a great job at makes those scenes easy to understand as someone who doesn't follow tennis in real life. Actually, it the made the scenes so fun to read about and I was looking forward to them!
This was a delightful book with witty banter, grumpy x sunshine, some enemies to lovers, forced proximity and spice. I really enjoyed the story, the way Flora comes out of her shell and fires up with Kieran. Both main characters have suffered loss and heartache with walls around them but together they help each other take them apart and build each other up. I love the gestures made by Flora that are beyond money but full of sentiment and heart. Kieran is more than his moody, temperamental facade. I laughed out loud at some points and really felt the adrenaline during the high stakes tennis matches.
3.5*
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
Such a fun sports romance and I just loved it being for the sport that I love watching! The tennis scenes were accurate and enjoyable to a tennis fan but not too overbearing if you're not. As someone who is getting to attend Wimbledon this year, it made me very excited!
I wasn't quite convinced by the book at the beginning, with the story setting being a little off for me and I wouldn't quite agree with it being assigned an enemies to lovers trope. Once I knew the characters, I was sold. It was a quick and easy read that I devoured in two sittings.
Flora and Kieran were both such likeable characters and I was truly invested in their story and blossoming romance.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Reilly writes next!
Thank you NetGalley and Aria & Aries for the ARC.
I'll be honest. The only reason I requested this ARC was specifically because of 'Challengers'. Please, no judgements. And I wasn't disappointed at all.
Katherine Reilly's 'Match Point' is a charming book about enemies to lovers Kieran and Flora, a professional tennis player and a recently fired slash aspiring graphic novelist who end up living in the same house due to unforeseen circumstances.
I'm not an avid reader of sports romances, but I was hooked from the first chapter. I really loved Flora and Kieran's chemistry. There's a lot of angst and lots of humour. I do think, however, that is a lot more of a grumpy boyfriend sunshine girlfriend trope than enemies to lovers trope. But it was quite enjoyable and the trope was written very successfully.
Match Point was just incredibly cute overall. Loved every bit of it.
