This book has enough to keep you invested to see what's next. This writer really has away with words that makes the readers' experience quick and easy, which also makes this a binge worthy read. This book is full of twists and turns (enough to cause whip lash) however, that for me is where the story may have taken a turn for the worst. I could not keep with all of the characters, their drama, secrets, and twists. Overall, the book has everything it needs for a good thriller, I just believe there are too many characters to follow and understand the roles that they all play. This was an okay read but I will be keeping up with this author and their work.

In a sudden whirlwind of events, Kendall's picture-perfect life shifts dramatically. One moment she's excitedly planning a life with the guy she's in love with, looking forward to a prestigious graduate fellowship, and moving into her dream apartment. The next, she's left shivering under a metallic emergency blanket, her world turned upside down. Even as a psychology student, she missed the signs, the hidden secrets of a mysterious 'she'...
When the paramedics arrive, their faces aren't filled with the expected concern. Instead, they look terrified. This intense plot will send a shiver down the any reader's spine, setting a thrilling and suspenseful tone for the rest of the story.
This book was captivating and hard to put down. It kept me on the edge of my seat with its refreshing writing style. I've become a new fan of Angela Henry and look forward to reading more of her work.

Thank you to Angela, the publishers and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book, I’m so grateful I was able to read it, I loved this book! I really enjoyed all of the twists and turns of the p story and I was really blown away by how well this was written. I didn’t know who to trust until the last few chapters! Will definitely recommend 🤎

The first half of the book was not as fast paced and gripping as I would have expected, but I enjoyed the writing and Kendall‘s story was so interesting. Could have easily turned out as a feel good romance if things went in another direction.
But there is at least one killer on the loose and Kendall is somehow in the middle of it all. Suddenly there is a lot going on. I could follow every twist and turn, but I could also see readers get a bit lost in here. Because not everything is as elaborated as it could be in my option. There were a few things that somehow weren’t really mentioned again or the explanation was to fast and simple for me.
And then the end of those rather short 230 pages was just tumultuous. So so many revelations and I only felt half of them made sense. In this case my advise would have been: less is more.

What a twisty book!
Kendall is a university student, whose life is suddenly falling apart in more ways than one. Her love life is based on lies, and she’s about to find out her friends and family aren’t what they appear to be either. It all goes downhill quickly, when the fellowship to pay for her tuition and rent falls apart. Kendall is suddenly in a dire situation. She makes a decision that will change the course of her life. Hold on tight, it’s about to get bumpy for Kendall.
So many twists, some great, some predictable. At times I did find it a bit confusing to keep straight. I did enjoy the authors writing though. I would recommend this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm publishing for the opportunity to read an advanced copy.
3.5🌟

A good easy-to-read thriller. Mystery keeps growing throughout. Kendall and Mac both have their own personal issues. I suspected Mac from the start in conspiracy against Kendall. But the ending is a surprise. Suspenseful with a little humor. Climax is shocking and twisted. Recommended. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

This one started out pretty strong for me. It was quick paced and interesting. I didn't get the thriller vibe as much as just a straight mystery. Kendall's life is in immediate upheaval with a lost fellowship and a cheating boyfriend. As she's trying to piece her college life together, she's getting random breaks to help her survive and there are glimpses that the girl has more issues than initially thought.
There are definitely moments that grab the reader's attention. It's too far-fetched or something just isn't quite right... and there are a few twists and turns thrown in to keep interest, especially when paired up with the pacing.
The last 10% of the book is what threw me. The "twists" were coming fast and hard. Some just seemed a bit out of place while others were (again) a little too far-fetched. Still, it was a good, quick read.
Overall: 3 stars (It liked it)
I'll tell my students about: language, sex, violence/gore/murder, drugs, alcohol, trauma, physical/mental abuse, parental death

This book wasn't on my radar until a friend mentioned it to me. This was the ultimate popcorn thriller. Full of drama, twists, and endless suspense, People need to read this book if they're struggling with the mundane, stereotypical thrillers and tropes. This was so good, and I can't wait to read more by Angela Henry.

Kendall’s world has completely fallen apart. The prestigious fellowship that was meant to support her grad school journey has been cruelly taken away, leaving her homeless, hungry, and without hope. Her world changes when an influencer at her school presents an offer: a salary and a room, in return for taking an online class and succeeding. The sensation is too good to be believed, but a stalker’s menace brings her back to reality. The unexpected death of this influencer, who is later exposed as an imposter and fraud, leads to Kendall being wrongfully accused of the crime, intensifying her concerns beyond just a lost scholarship.
The characterisation was top-notch. Each character was beautifully developed and easy to connect with, which was a huge plus. The secrets hidden by every character always kept me on edge while I tried to decipher them.
I was completely caught off guard by the numerous twists and turns in the tale, and the ending was simply superb. If you’re looking for a book that’s packed with non-stop drama, plenty of twists and turns, and oozing with intrigue... this is definitely the one for you!
Many thanks to Angel Henry @Stormbooks_co & @netgalley for a review copy.

Her pretty lies is one of those books that will have you guessing at the twists
Overall very fun to read and I greatly enjoyed it

Her Pretty Lies was a great thriller book! It was full of surprises and twist from the beginning until the end. It makes you really think deep about who you can really trust and believe in your life as far as in your Family, Friends, Coworkers, etc. This is the first book by Author Angela Henry that I have read. I am planning to read more of her books in the future. Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review a ARC of this book.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Her Pretty Lies. I love a good thriller but this did nothing for me unfortunately. I guessed the whole premise of the story about 30 pages in and lo and behold I hit the nail right on the head. The twists at the end were just too much and all happened too quickly for me to be invested in this story. The side story of Cal and his stepdad was also a bit questionable… like really why??
All in all I think this was a pretty average thriller.

When it rains, it pours. That's what happens when Kendall's life turned upside down in a day. Not only did she find out she's lost her fellowship, caught her boyfriend in bed with another woman, and becoming homeless. So when a famous influencer offered her money and a house for a job that she could face serious consequences if caught, what should she do?
It was so hard getting used to the writing style of this book. It felt like it was hard to track on which character was talking. I was hooked on the first few chapters, but towards the middle, it felt like it dragged a bit. However, the end.. blew my mind. The twists weren't anything I've seen before. It was one right after another!
I find that the characters of the book were particularly easy to relate to. Even though Kendall had a past with petty theft, I like how she's determined to still keep moving on with her life even with the hurdles.
Overall, this is a good read. I want to read more of the author's books to get familiar with her writing.

We rated this book a 3.5!
Not once did we predict what was going to happen next and this kept us on our toes. Definitely gave a Pretty Little Liars vibe which we appreciated. Every character and connection fit like a puzzle piece.

Really liked all the surprises and twists, both predictable and shocking! The characters were well developed and the ones you needed to hate, you hated. The others was like a game, they were likeable but mysterious, keeping you guessing whether or not they could be liked or trusted. Can see this book being adapted into an Amazon prime or Netflix movie for sure!

A bit of a slow burn and a little hard to get into at first but then full speed fun with a full set of twists. I enjoyed this book. It was fun and original and still had you guessing what was going to happen next. I liked Kendall’s character a lot. She was relatable and seemingly sweet while also a little bit funny and unpredictable. The story starts off with her worst day ever. Lost her scholarship, down to literal cents in her bank account, no place to live, and she found out her boyfriend’s been cheating with his ex Kayla. An opportunity arises that Kendall knows is wrong but Mac is captivating, rich, beautiful and she needs Kendall. Offering her money and a place to live Kendall can’t say no. Everything just twists and turns from there. A fun, quick read that’ll keep you questioning everything you learn and what’s next?

Her Pretty Lies is a books with so many twists and turns! The first half was a bit slow and hard for me to get into, but it really picked up by the halfway point. Every character has their own secrets and lies and they were all intertwined. The story kept me engaged and questioning everything and everyone up until the end. The twists at the end were a little over the top for me but overall, it was a pretty good and entertaining read!

I had the opportunity to read an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley.
Before I go into my review, I want to remind whoever is reading this to remember that liking or disliking books is subjective and this is just my take on it.
At the start of the book there were a handful of brief chapters that bounced from storyline to storyline and with little to no context of who “she” was it was initially hard to keep up with what I was reading. I understand now reading the book in full that it was intentional because it would’ve spoiled some of the characters secrets that turned out to be big reveals.
After that getting past the hurdle of trying to grasp what I was reading, it was a fast paced read. I had some sympathy at times for the FMC and other times I was questioning why she didn’t go with her gut when things felt off. There were a lot of twists and turns but I felt like the fact that there were so many of them, at some point you’re like ok, this has transcended reality even in the world of fiction, let’s wrap it up.
Again, I want to be super clear that liking or disliking books is subjective and I think anyone should try out a book regardless of reviews because what may have not been someone’s favorite, it can very well be theirs and that’s the beauty of reading!

It took me a while to get into the book, but all the twists and turns made the book exciting from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat and guessing along, and every time I thought I was on the right track, there was another twist. The last few chapters in particular left me speechless (in a good way).

After losing her fellowship and her boyfriend, Kendall meets an influencer who turns her world even more upside down. This book is full of twists and turns that keep you reading till the last page. its a nice quick read with a great twist at the end.
