Kendall Good, a college student, was struggling to make ends meet when she applied for a scholarship. To her delight, she was granted a full ride for two years, but her happiness was short-lived when she discovered that the scholarship benefactor had died, and she would no longer receive the scholarship money. To make matters worse, she found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her, which left her homeless and alone.
In her desperation, Kendall befriended Mackenzie Burke, who turned out to be a dangerous person. Soon after, Kendall was accused of murder, and she had to fight to prove her innocence. The book "Her Pretty Lies" by Angela Henry is a thrilling psychological book that takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It has murder, deceit, betrayal, heartbreak, and love. You will be hooked on the book's complex characters and twisting storyline.
The author's writing style is engaging, and the plot is well-crafted, with unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader on edge. The story also highlights the importance of perseverance and determination in the face of adversity. I highly recommend "Her Pretty Lies" to anyone looking for an exciting read that will keep them up all night. It's a book that will leave an indelible mark on the reader's mind, and I give it four stars.
I just reviewed Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry. #HerPrettyLies #NetGalley

I loved this twisty book that I honestly didn’t see those twists and turns coming. Thanks NetGalley and storm publishing.

Okay wow! This was one amazing ride!!! I believe I just found my new auto author! She kinda reminds me of Freida McFadden with all her twists and I think I know who it is but guess what …. Wrong….. definitely will be reading more by this author

While this was an OK read, it just didn't hit the mark for me. It dragged on in several parts, and the ending felt rushed. The characters were flawed, which I liked. But they didn't feel real.
I did get this from Netgalley, but these opinions are my own.

I loved this book! Lots of twists that I didn’t guess which is a bonus. Kendall was a believable character and the book held my attention until the end which I didn’t predict.

2.5 stars rounded up to 3.
This was a quick read, but wasn’t really my type of thriller. I don’t really like the toxic/obsessive friendship/family drama tropes. I went in blindly though, and was determined to finish. It was pretty repetitive/confusing in the beginning with so many time jumps and POV’s. But once I hit mid-point, the pace picked up and kept me intrigued. I will say the major twist was good. I didn’t see it coming. But the other twist at the end.. I felt like it was rushed and not as exciting. I also feel like certain side plots/characters could have been left out. (I don’t want to give any spoilers away!)
If you like domestic thrillers, and more of a “family drama” mystery, you will probably enjoy this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

SO TWISTY!!!! What just happened?!?! Thriller booktok is going to have a field day with this one. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
"Her Pretty Lies" by Angela Henry is a psychological thriller that delves into the chaotic world of Kendall, a psychology student whose life spirals out of control after a series of unfortunate events. The book opens with a gripping scene where paramedics are loading a body bag into an ambulance, and Kendall is left shivering under a foil blanket, her life turned upside down.
Angela Henry weaves a tale of deception and intrigue, where every character harbors secrets that thicken the plot with each turn of the page. Kendall, once on the cusp of a promising future with a man she wanted to marry and a prestigious fellowship, finds herself caught in a web of lies and deceit. The narrative takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride through Kendall's attempts to salvage her life, which leads her to commit academic fraud and impersonate an influencer.
The story is well-paced, with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing. Henry's writing is sharp and engaging, making "Her Pretty Lies" a book that is hard to put down. The character development is robust, with each character's motivations and secrets slowly unraveling, adding depth to the story.
However, the book is not without its flaws. Some readers might find the last part of the book, filled with numerous twists, to be overwhelming and hard to follow. The complexity of the plot might detract from the overall enjoyment for those who prefer a more straightforward narrative.
Overall, "Her Pretty Lies" is a compelling read for fans of psychological thrillers. It's a story that explores the lengths to which people will go to protect their secrets and the devastating consequences that can arise from a single lie. Angela Henry has crafted a novel that is both thought-provoking and entertaining, making it a worthwhile addition to the genre.

This was a crazy ride. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and overall I enjoyed it. The excessive twists and subplot thrown in towards the end got to be a little confusing and there was a little too much mud thrown on the wall for “shock” value.

Girl!!!! What a ride! If you like Freida McFadden and her ridiculous twists you will love this book! I think I have whiplash from going back and forth; I seriously had no idea what was going on (I say this in the best way possible). Just when I am finally catching on and I think I have something figured out…nope here comes a character totally blowing my theory out of the water.. All the small stories and details slowly interweaving into one with so many plot twists. Fast paced and thrilling with a new story line I haven’t seen. Angela is becoming one of my favorite authors! Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a free copy of this ARC. This is my honest review.
This story starts off with a bang. There are plenty of twists and reveals. It is fast paced, and I liked it up until the final quarter of the book. Up until then I was completely immersed in the story. Although it was immersive and well done sometimes I felt like there were too many characters we learned too much about.
The last fourth of the book seemed unhinged and there were a couple of twists that practically turned themselves inside out to tie things up but it honestly made very little sense

Holy guacamole was this good. It starts off fast and gets right to the point which I love! The twists and turns were expertly done. I did not see the ending coming at all and I am usually a pretty good guesser. I would highly recommend this book to fans of thriller books.

Her Pretty Lies is a quick and easy read! I binged the book in one sitting with all the drama, lies and secrets from every character.
I was hooked from the beginning, but as the story started to unravel I was struggling to keep invested in all the characters story's and found that the plot twists were a little predictable. The book was fun and I would love to read more from this author. Thank you for the ARC.

I don't know how to feel about this book and I feel very confused about even giving it a fair rating. I really liked the book. The plot is interesting, the writing is well done, the pace is super fast and I finished the book in just one sitting. However, I feel as if I had read a first version, without yet receiving final approval for the edition.
At the beginning there is a small problem with the author getting lost in too many tangents. This is information that will later be relevant to the story, but it could have been placed in the book in a more spaced out, more natural way. Without seeming like the MC is vomiting her entire life story in one go. Furthermore, the choice of the prologue was very confusing with a first chapter that is also before the story begins. It should have been one or the other. Another small problem for me was that the POV is alternated between first and third person and this is a particular irritation of mine.
However, from then on, the book becomes very solid. We get to really get into the character's head, understand their motivations, their feelings, the story starts to make sense, there's a little mystery deep down, almost like a flea behind your ear. And I couldn't stop reading. I was completely suck from 15% to 70% of the book. A very well constructed thriller.
Until the end, when the book completely lost its plot? Perhaps in an attempt to avoid a cliché twist, the author intertwined all the characters in the book and turned the story upside down so that these connections made sense. And this would have worked if there had been more time, perhaps if the unfolding of events had started in the middle of the story. But in the final act, there was only a rush of high-risk actions that contained the entire content of the story, happening every five minutes. It was confusing and ended up losing all credibility.
And I don't think the problems with this book are the author's fault. On the contrary, I think she managed to build a consistent thriller. However, I believe that the editing team failed to prune the story further by removing parts that did not add to the plot and removing the backstory and secondary characters that were not important and only served to fill the page. And especially, take out the last chapters. The first plot was more than enough to give a good end to the story.
In conclusion, it is a good book to take on a trip and read in one sitting by the pool. However, it doesn't have a satisfying ending and probably won't stick with you for days.

Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry
⭐️⭐️⭐️.💫/5 (rounded up)
I enjoyed this suspense/thriller novel, to be published 5/3/24. The story is told via present day timeline with flashbacks to the main character’s childhood. As Kendall picks up the pieces of her life after a nasty breakup and losing fellowship money she was depending on, her world gets even more messed up than it already was. People are dying, but who is to blame? I found the first half of this novel to be a little slow for my taste; then the last half was so loaded with twists, turns, and new characters that it was difficult to follow. Overall it was a fun plot, though. Also big shout out to the author for writing a thriller that also shines a light on racism.
Thank you to Net Galley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review! Shared to Goodreads, and will share to Instagram on pub date

I had to DNF (22%). The main character was boring and annoying to me. I didn’t care to know what happened. There was a lot of unnecessary over- description

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Format: E-Book
This is my second Angela Henry read and while my first (The Perfect Affair) was easily a five-star read, I didn’t enjoy this one as much. I really like the author’s casual, conversational writing style, but didn’t feel as gripped by this plot. It certainly had intriguing characters, but the twists felt a bit too forced and back-and-forth, almost like reader whiplash.
But it’s still a fun read with unpredictable plot points and characters that leave you guessing!
Thank you to Angela Henry, Storm Publishing, & NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced reader copy! Zoomed through the pages in a single sitting.
This was a fast read! The twists start immediately by the main character losing a huge scholarship opportunity and the life she had planned for. Becoming homeless and shortly after wrapped up in academic fraud. & the storylines kept rolling with new twists around each corner. That I felt a twinge of whiplash. Good luck guessing them all!

I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of Angela Henry's "Her Pretty Lies." Initially, it was challenging to navigate the various viewpoints as you didn’t know whose perspectives they were until later in the book, but the relentless twists kept me hooked to the end. With each turn of the page, the shock intensified, leading to a jaw-dropping ending that left me wondering what I had just read, but in the best way possible. This is your next thrilling read—4 stars!

I have whiplash from all the multiple PLOT TWISTS this book served! This was an easy 5 STARS read! I binged it all in one Sunday.
The plot, characters, family dynamics, revenge and oh sweet justice! Everything was done really well!
I’ve never highlighted an e-book so much as I did with this one.
The amount of clues literally in each chapter was so subtle and came together so expertly well.
This is my first Angela Henry book and I’m awe struck!!!! I’m gonna run to get her other work!
So grateful for this ARC and being introduced to this new author!
Love it!
