This gripping mystery thriller was my first venture into the genre and won't be my last. Angela Henry's writing had me completely hooked with its many twists and turns from start to finish. I'm eager to dive into more of her work.

My thoughts:
There were countless moments when I just wanted to scream at FMC Kendall. I mean, come on, what was she thinking? The unexpected twist with the real murderer caught me off guard, leaving a solid impression. The storytelling is genuinely enthralling, keeping you captivated and eager to uncover the complexities of the character's actions and the unfolding events.

Love Always, Catherine

I really loved the premise of this psychological thriller and the narrative definitely has some great twists.
Our MC is Kendall, who is off to get herself through college as a psychology student through a fellowship that's available to families that need support funding. This fellowship falls through, she finds her boyfriend is cheating so she needs to find somewhere to live and sustain work to put herself through. Mac, who comes from a privileged background, overhears the trouble that Kendall is having a gives her an offer she can't refuse. Mac, will give Kendall a place to stay and payment as long as she goes into classes and poses as Mac and it could cost Kendall her place at college. Kendall then finds herself in the middle of. murder investigation and she's the prime suspect.

There's 2 POVs of this book, Kendall and an unknown voice at the beginning, both in first person. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear who the second POV is. There's a few red herrings, some great twists and foreshadowing if you are paying attention. You get a good sense of who Kendall is as a person. She's not an angel but she's not a bad person either. The pacing of the book was ok and did stall a little at the beginning 1/3 but soon picked up. The last 2/3 book was medium paced and I really enjoyed the reveal and the final plot twist.

I also listened to some of this book, which is narrated by Rachel Handshaw (Narrator) which made the book come to life

3.75 stars rounded to 4 for websites.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was an engaging read. I enjoyed the storyline and appreciated a deviation from the usual husband / wife domestic thrillers, and it kept me guessing throughout.

Very twisty and a good, quick read! This book was very entertaining and was hard to put down at points. It was one twist after another and I didn’t truly know where it was going until the very end.

I enjoyed this book. Full of unexpected twists and turns. A few moments where the characters were during unrealistic actions and the ending felt a bit rushed.

This is the perfect twisty read to kick off your summer! The plot was incredibly well written, and I found myself experiencing a perfect blend of love and hate for the characters. While you may feel some confusion towards the end, trust me, it will all become clear in the end! I highly recommend it!

Ok Kendall and I are both now having our worst week as I just deleted my whole review. So yeah there is that.
Kendall is the “perfect girl” at least publically. Mac is also the “perfect girl according to Instagram. But she definitely doesn’t have it all together.
This was an easy read. I am an avid mystery girl so I had it all figured out about halfway through. Loads and loads of crazy happenings I’ll keep you reading until the end.
A solid 3.25/5 for me.
I received a ARC of this title. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC. This is my honest review and opinion.

A grad student down on luck, lost her funding for school through no fault of her own, accepts a risky offer. In exchange for housing and a lump sum of money to help pay her tuition she must commit academic fraud for a well known influencer. However she ends up getting framed for murder and finds out life long secrets.

I really enjoyed this novel. There were appropriate twists and turns throughout the story. I found myself yelling at her several times to not do that! The actual murderer I did not see coming and did feel that twist was a bit out of the left field. I like how the story ends with the potential for more but also is a satisfying end overall.

4/5 stars for this one.

Her Pretty Lies - Angela Henry

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a read!! None of the characters were likable but the plot twist(s) were jaw dropping, I never would’ve guessed!

The story reels you in from the very first page. The story is told in multiple points of view and a little confusing but eventually it all makes sense. Once the secrets and lies were unraveled I was SHOCKED!
