Second Angela Henry read for me, and another night of "I don't need sleep--I need ANSWERS!" I was immediately sucked into the story of this one, surprised by most of the twists, and a little sleep-deprived the day after starting the book. Totally worth it. Solid recommend! I love Henry's writing style, her strong Black female characters, and can.not.wait. to read even more of her books.

😩Life as she knew it was ripped out from under her. Her relationship, her scholarship, her living arrangements, her entire future! Distraught, and with no one to turn to, she felt she had no choice but to take the first opportunity presented to her, to help get her back on her feet.
😵💫 Things just get crazy from there! I’m talking murder, blackmail, secrets, backstabbing, lies, betrayal, skeletons and so many twists I could hardly keep up. (I live for some good twists!)
😱 This is a “trust no one,” didn’t see THAT coming novel. Very juicy, suspenseful and jaw dropping. Easy to binge in a day, great on audio. Loved all the things going on, but at the same time, it felt pretty tangled and unrealistic for ALL of them to go down in the same novel. It’s not easy to solve because it’s not 1 answer. Some things are obvious, but other parts are not so much. Great for those that love a good puzzle!
🧩 Overall, I really liked the plot, but I am not sure I can even remember who was blackmailing her and if all the mysteries were wrapped up after that wild ride of an ending. Maybe slightly too complex, but it was never dull or slow.
Thanks to NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Angela Henry for providing me with a complimentary ARC to review!

Kendall is really taken aback when her college says that her scholarship is no longer valid and is she is livid as she was completely dependent on that to complete her psychology course!
When a stranger offers her boarding plus money in return she just has to impersonate a known popular online person - how will she pull this off without getting caught!
As she is settling into the new life something horrific happens and she realizes that someone is trying to frame her for murder and they have ensured to cover all their tracks!
All in all this was a fast paced thriller, thanks to Angela Henry, Netgally and Storm Publishing for approving this e-book ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"Her Pretty Lies" by Angela Henry was completely riveted by this fast-paced and suspenseful psychological thriller. The story follows Kendall, a psychology student who finds herself at the centre of a nightmare when she discovers a body and is immediately suspected of murder.
From the very first page, the tension and suspense in this book are palpable, drawing me in and keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. The pacing of the story is relentless, with unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I found myself unable to put the book down, eager to unravel the mystery alongside Kendall and discover the truth behind the chilling events unfolding around her.
One of the strengths of "Her Pretty Lies" is its complexity and unpredictability. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story took a sharp turn in a new direction, leaving me reeling and eager for more. Angela Henry's writing is sharp and engaging, and she expertly weaves a web of deceit and intrigue that kept me guessing and second-guessing until the final reveal.
The character development in the book is also well-done, with Kendall as a compelling protagonist who is faced with impossible choices and a mounting sense of danger. The supporting characters add depth to the narrative, adding layers to the mystery and keeping me engaged in their motives and actions.
I was thoroughly impressed by "Her Pretty Lies" and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a gripping and twisty psychological thriller. This book is a roller coaster of suspense and thrills, with a shocking and satisfying conclusion that will leave you reeling. Angela Henry has crafted a captivating and immersive story that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
I liked this book. It was a quick and easy read. If you had asked me 35% of the way in, I thought it was going to be a 5 star. But then the twists just kept coming. It became too far-fetched and I felt like the story was trying too hard. Not terrible but not my favorite.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my free copy!
High praise to Angela Henry! Your books just keep getting better and better somehow! I LOVED this very thrilling and mysterious read that kept me glued to my kindle until the very last sentence! I loved trying to figure out how this would end and to solve the many mysteries throughout! The TWISTY ending was perfect as well as the nice, sweet little surprise! Was NOT expecting that at all!!
Fans of Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena and Riley Sager would LOVE this read!
This book captivated my attention from the first page! I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and the constant twists and turns. Angela Henry really knows how to keep a reader on the edge of their seat.
Absolutely un-put-downable. That's a word, right? Well if it's not, it should be. It's the only way to describe this book. You think you have it all figured out...you don't. Well done, Angela Henry!
Buckle up and enjoy the fantastic roller coaster ride that this book offers. From the beginning, this book created a speedy journey of events that kept me wondering, and I couldn't put the book down. I read it in two days only because I had to work and at 3 am I had to call it. If you enjoy fast-paced thrillers, this is for you.
The book opens on a crime scene, which is essential to memorize and sets the tone for the rest of the book. The overarching question of this book is not just who but why. We met Kendall, who is having a series of bad events back to back. Kendall loses her sponsorship for her Master's, her boyfriend is cheating on her with his ex, and to top it all off, she has nowhere to go as she used to live with him. From there, many events unfold, and the best part is that I promise you, you will not be able to guess who was behind each event; every time I thought I had it, I was proven wrong. I immensely enjoyed the speed at which the story moved, and even to the last chapter, more things were unveiled, some that I did not even think were an issue. This book is an easy five stars because if I could give it 10, I would. Bravo, Angela Henry. I just became your super fan.

I usually love a good popcorn thriller, this one wasn’t my cup of tea. I guessed most of the plot twists, and everything at the end felt very rushed. The middle plot line got lost in the sauce.
The characters POVs changed from first to third person every chapter or so, and it was a bit confusing, and there were so many side characters that I couldn't keep up. I was hoping for more with Cal, or at least more of his back story, it just didn’t go anywhere. Overall It’s thrilling enough novel to pass time, if it didn’t have an airplane ride to read this I wouldn’t have finished it so quickly
Great story and characters! Lots of twists and turns. I enjoyed this one and had no idea of the ending until it happened. Couldn’t put it down! Brilliant!
This book read like books I've enjoyed before. However, while I did enjoy the overall story, there was a lot going on that it just felt like it was too much and the big reveals just fell flat. I also felt like I still don't know what truly happened as I kept getting information saying this thing happened to find out that it was really another person, but because Kendall only knew the part we heard first that I wasn't even sure if I could rely on the secret information.
I will say that my favorite part was that the whole story took place in Ohio :-) So this book will hold a special place in my heart just for that.
Wonderful. Thrilling and transporting and very addictive. Once I started this one, I just had to finish it. Just wow! Great story by a brilliant author. Very highly recommend.
Boy does Kendall have a rough go at life! Her life just seems to be one big series of unfortunate events in a tale of crazy twists, lies, and secrets.
The first half of the book is a slow burn, and I found it to also be a little disjointed and confusing. However, once some pieces came to light, it made sense as to why the author wrote it in the manner she did.
I found Kendall to be resilient and strong in the face of adversity. Even when life knocked her down, she got back up again and kept going to figure things out. Her made for a strong MFC, and the other characters were well-developed as well, but Kendall really made me want to root for her the whole way through.
I cannot tell you how many times my jaw dropped and I gasped with all the twists! I'm pretty sure I have whiplash from it!
Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC opportunity!
I wasn't too sure what I was getting myself into when I started reading this story. I have to say what a crazy journey it takes you on. Fantastic, well written, and twists and turns I didn't see coming! I didn't guess the who, what, or why of some of it,but in other parts I did! I will not give away anything so, I am excited for you all to be on your own journey with this incredible book! As, for a favorite character I would have to say Cal as he stood by and took care of Kendell!
Highly recommend this book! Happy reading!
A very convoluted thriller that will have you questioning everything and everyone. If you weren't paranoid before you read this, you will be after. Fast paced, but easy to read.
Kendall is ready to start her college course with a great scholarship when it’s hastily snatched away from her, but when she meets influencer Mac who offers her money and a room if she sits a course for her, she jumps at it.
There are so many lies in this story, every character has them, it’s a quick easy read though. I enjoyed the story, Kendall told you about her younger years too and the tangled web of lies finally got untangled. Great 4 star read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.
Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publish for this eARC of Her Pretty Lies by Angela Henry. This was a fast paced thriller with more layers than an onion! Every single time I thought the twists were over they kept coming until the very end. The story follows Kendall Good and her incredibly bad luck streak at the start of her graduate student year. We see her life fall apart in one afternoon and how when someone is desperate they tend to miss red flags about opportunities too good to be true. This book tackles prison time done for crimes that men were innocent for, social media influencers, and alcoholism. I really enjoyed this thriller and the plot line was unique!!
Loads of twists and turns to keep you engage. I’d recommend this if you’re in a bit of a reading slump or fed up of reading the same old thing. Or just if you want something new to read in general!
A reader could get whiplash from all the plot twists in this novel. Not only is the narrator unreliable, so is virtually every single character germane to the plot. Everyone lies. Everyone keeps significant secrets. And nearly everyone is willing to do the worst to others. There are dead bodies galore, but mostly there are sneaky devious self-serving people all around. One thing though, you will have fun figuring out all those twists and turns, or being surprised by them.
