This is the first book I have read by this author and I shall certainly be looking for more. I enjoyed the trip through France and also getting to know the two characters. I felt frustrated with Luke on many occasions but was so pleased that everything came right in the end. Recommended.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I enjoyed reading this book.
Freya and Luke are totally different from one another, as Freya and Beth who is her best friend have an estate agency business. But Luke doesn’t really have a set plan or works.
But, when he asks Freya to take time off work to travel in his van through France, working in different places in order to have a place to stay and eat, Beth tells her to go, and the trip has Freya change the way she looked at life and her thinking about Luke and his way of life.
I recommend this book.
I was personally invited to read this book and I thought it looked great but to be honest I didn't enjoy the writing or the story itself. It a woman forced to go on a holiday with a man she doesn't love.
It's a miss from me.
"One Perfect French Summer" is the story of seemingly complete opposites Freya and Luke. Freya is career focussed, running an estate agency with best friend Beth living in her dream country cottage. Luke appears to be a bit of a drifter, staying with friends and with no life plan. However, Luke persuades Freya to take a couple of months off work and travel through France doing various jobs in exchange for bed and board. The whole trip is an eye opener for Freya and she starts to change her opinion of Luke.
This is a real will they, won't they story with a lovely background of rural France and some great people met along the way.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.
A slow start but then it really gets going. Lucy Coleman doing just what she dies best. Friendly fun romance and travel.
Luke asks Freya to go on a working holiday to France, as the summer comes to an end Freya wonders if that is the end of their relationship. lovely locations.
I always enjoy Lucy Coleman and this was no exception. This is a perfect summer read - you will be swept up in Luke and Freya's story and their journey across France. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed after the languorous story of their French adventure but maybe that is because I didn't want it to end. Many thanks
Lucy Coleman has done it again with a lovely summer story about successful estate agent Freya Henderson who meets Luke Stevenson a carefree young man and the attraction is there so when Luke asks Freya to join him on a trip to France her friend and business partner encourages her to go to de stress.
I loved how they travelled across France in Luke's van the scenery makes me want to visit France and I when they stop at Luke's friends who own a vine yard to help it made me feel it was the ideal way to relax and enjoy the scenery.
I would highly recommend for a enjoyable warm story you cannot put down.
Be swept away with a trip to France and immerse yourself in a world full of food, fun and warm and inviting people.
This book is a great beach read that takes you through a tale of a woman who plans every detail and doesn't get close to people who journeys on the trip of a lifetime with a man who lives in the moment and embraces life. Both characters experience a lot of growth in the book and learn from each other as well as the many people surrounding them in this beautiful location.
You will find yourself feeling like a part of the family as you meet the people that surround Luke and bring Freya into the fold like an old friend. My favorite character is Iris. How I wish she could have just leaped off the page and we could stroll through the vineyard together.
I can easily see this one being made into a made for TV romance.
This is a brilliant love story combined with some beautiful food descriptions and a drive through France. I absolutely loved it. The two main characters Freya and Luke are complete opposites. It was fun hearing about estate agents from a good point of view. Also covered your parent meeting some new after your other parent has died. You also have Beth who is a great best friend . I loved Freya at times . Just so careful. The whole book is full of great characters . A fab summer read
