Thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and author Eliza J. Scott for this eARC.
After reading book two of this series and not loving it I decided to give it another chance. My main problem with the last book was the characters and this one focuses on other people.
Unfortunately it was not much of an improvement.
While I can relate to our mc Stella much better than Maggie, from book 2, she still very much infuriated me. Her jumping to conclusions and her reactions to certain situations were too extreme and I feel like she barely had any character development. Also our mmc forgave her way too quickly, on multiple occasions which made him seem like such a doormat.
The father storyline was kinda interesting but again left me wanting more - more character development, more depth... is was just all very shallow.
I think I have learned my lesson and will not read any further books in this series.
3.5 stars

I was looking for something light and easy to read and this book worked nicely. Some of the British vocabulary was new to me but it didn’t distract me too much from the story. I also felt there were some scenes that were overly descriptive. For example, I could’ve done without every meal being described in excruciating detail. Still, this was an enjoyable, well written, book and I would definitely read more by this author.

In this book we get to know Stella as she finally may have found the one and no-one is more surprised than Stella herself. She has always been single and her friends thought that she would never fall in love. All that may be about to change when she meets Alex. Once again another dog stole my heart and it was nice to add more characters in the mix. The plot of this one has family relationships between Stella and her mother and father. Stella takes after her mother when it comes to relationships with men and I can understand why and it was enjoyable to unravel the mystery of Stella. I hope there are going to be more books in this fun loving series.

I would Love more time to read this book, I didn't feel I could finish it in time before the archive date.

Another refreshing Micklewick Bay read! This is the third installment and in this book we follow Stella. Stella and her mother are just alike when it comes to men and relationships. They never let them get too close because all they will do is hurt you. Alice has learned this through experience, after she got pregnant with Stella at the age of 18 and her then boyfriend and child's father abandoned her. Not only did he abandon her, but so did her own parents. From that moment, Alice swore to give both herself and her daughter the best life, even if it means keeping men at bay.
Growing up, Stella has seen and learned from her mother, and has become successful, but has also avoided serious relationships with men. She's a fling kind of girl, until she meets Alex, who suddenly has her heart going flips and skipping beats. Stella doesn't want to get too close to him, however she can't help it. He's different. Stella struggles with her approach with Alex, but also with her approach to her mother's new boyfriend, Rhys. Stella has never seen her mother with a man, let alone this happy. Rhys is not like Stella's father, he is different. Although Stella wouldn't really know this because her father's identity has been hidden from her for over three decades. In the middle of dealing with work as a lawyer and a new relationship, Stella decides it is time to find out the truth about her father.
I really enjoyed this book! It is, yet again, another breath of fresh air and the perfect light read!
Thank you NetGalley. Storm Publishing, and Eliza J Scott for this read!

This is the second book from the Micklewick Bay series that I've had the pleasure of reading and I loved it as much as the first. This book is Stella's story although we do catch up with her group of friends on their regular Friday night in the Jolly Sailors pub. Stella is a astrong independent career focused female and although she is happy to enjoy the company of men on occasion, she isn't one for pursuing a full-time relationship or that is until she claps eyes on the handsome stranger Alex Bainbridge. An absolute joy to read. Thanks netgalley for an advanced copy of this book

I don’t believe I’ve read a book by this author before but since reading this novel I’ve now got two others on preorder!
It’s a great read, a great location, with great characters. I found the way in which some of the characters spoke a little confusing at first and also a little over the top but aside from that it was a really enjoyable read.
Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Oh my now discovered this is book 3 but you can read alone. I love Stella’s story. . Funny how your parent/ parents can affect how you think of love and marriage . I loved how Stella was successful in her job, wore fabulous clothes and was so confident but not in love. Her father , you have to read it and judge for yourself . Her friends were amazing. I loved the book shop .Fred the dog was great. I have found a great author. I read this in a night . Brilliant . Read it .

Perhaps my favourite book of the 80 books I have read so far this year. A clever plot line with the central character not knowing her father until well into the book and she and her mother both finding love. The North Yorkshire setting even with its fictions names brought back many happy memories for me. Thoroughly recommended book. Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.

I loved reading this book. I was never quite sure where it was taking me next making this an exciting as well as interesting read. The story is about Stella and yet is introduced by her mum. There is nastiness in her job in the court room which just bubbles under the surface with the nastiness always just out of sight which kept me on edge. The love interest is nicely woven in too, definitely not a door mat and one that properly challenges Stella. To top it all of there is a beautiful dog to hold all the plot together and to steal the show as well as possibly the washing!

This one took me by surprise!! It was such a cute, fluffy romance and perfect when you just needed a break and enjoy a book :)
I liked the characters and their connection, the friend group was lovely, and overall it was a very cute read.

Love this! The strong, loyal friendship of five women, The strong female main character Stella. Her independent savvy mom. The handsome new neighbor and his adorable lab. Secrets unraveled coming back to haunt. Excellent plot. Releases May 1st. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I enjoyed the mother daughter bond in this book, which isn’t the main point but it was nice! I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary information about other characters, but I assume it’s to help tie in her other books that are also based in the fictional town. I felt like there was a lot of lead up to certain elements but not a lot of follow through. Overall it was a cute read that I could see others enjoy.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved reading this book.
Stella has a busy life, her job, which is stressful and she’s recently moved into a new house. She’s of the thinking that she’s got no time for Love.
But that thought starts to change when she meets Alex.
No matter how hard she tries to ignore the feelings she has for him, and tries not to bump into him as much, in the place she lives, that’s not easy.
Her friends want her to act on these feelings. So will Sarah take a chance on Love?
She also wants to know more about her father, and when he suddenly turns up in her hometown, is he all she thought he would be?
I recommend this book.

A lovely visit to Micklewick Bay which focused on feisty lawyer Stella Hutton. She has never known who her father is and has never let herself have a long term relationship. Whilst dealing with a tricky court case and coming to terms with how her mum has found love she moves in a fabulous apartment. Enter Alex who takes her breath away. This is a romance that isn’t straightforward and has lots of different elements, including friendship, family and deceit. The characters are brilliant and I could really imagine them and the gorgeous location. Thank you to Storm Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advance e-copy of Finding Love in Micklewick Bay, in exchange for an honest review.
Eliza J. Scott's 'Finding Love in Micklewick Bay' is a captivating contemporary romance that explores the complexities of love, family secrets, and personal growth.
At the heart of the story is Stella Hutton, a brilliant and ambitious barrister who returns to her hometown after a long absence. As she settles into her new apartment, fate brings her together with Alex, a charming single man with a mischievous Labrador.
As Stella and Alex's paths intertwine, she finds herself drawn to his warmth and intelligence. However, her fear of being hurt leads her to make assumptions and jump to conclusions. This flaw, which is a recurring theme throughout the novel, adds depth and realism to Stella's character.
The romance between Stella and Alex is both sweet and steamy. Their chemistry is palpable, and their intimate scenes are both tender and passionate. However, the story is not solely focused on their love affair. Scott skillfully weaves in other elements, such as Stella's search for her father and her career aspirations.
Stella's journey of self-discovery is particularly compelling. Her mother's refusal to reveal the identity of her father has left a void in her life. As she delves into her past, she uncovers a web of secrets and lies that force her to confront her own beliefs and values.
The setting of Micklewick Bay, a small town on the coast of the United Kingdom, adds a charming and cozy atmosphere to the story. The community is filled with colorful characters who provide both support and challenges for Stella and Alex.
Overall, 'Finding Love in Micklewick Bay' is a well-written and engaging contemporary romance. It offers a relatable heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, and a heartwarming story that will appeal to fans of the genre. The exploration of family secrets and personal growth adds depth to the plot, making this a satisfying and memorable read. This was a 4 Stars read for me!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Stella it was a real page turner. Great characters full of love and friendship it was heart warming and a great idea to write about the friendships that meet every week at the local pub. I hope there are other stories about some of the other friends.

Stella’s life is a whirlwind, juggling her demanding law practice and the chaos of moving into her new home—a chic condominium in a repurposed warehouse. Love, she's convinced, has no place in her hectic schedule. But fate has other plans when she unexpectedly crosses paths with Alex, a man who embodies the phrase 'tall, dark, and handsome. His piercing blue eyes, a stark contrast to his rugged exterior, captivated her from the very first moment.
Stella tries to ignore her strong feelings for him, but it’s a small town, and she frequently meets him on her morning runs when he is out walking his beautiful dog. She soon finds that these feelings are overtaking her life and are becoming difficult to control. Her close friends are amazed at the sudden change in her and are quietly rooting for her. She finally reaches the deciding moment. Will she abandon her self-imposed restrictions on romance for a chance at true love?

The story is focused on Stella a lawyer who has been brought up by her single mum in Micklewick Bay.
I found this book quite slow to start but the pace improved throughout the book.
I liked Stella as a character and I enjoyed her relationship with Alex. It was an easy read with some
Hard hitting topics which could have been explored in more detail.
The ending was just what I wanted to happen and Im looking forward to reading more from this author and finding out what happens next.
Thanks to NetGalley, Eliza J Scott and Storm publishing for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The story follows Stella a lawyer and Alex an architect. Stella’s has grown up in Micklewick bay and Alex is new in town after meeting in random places the finally found out they are neighbours.
It took me a while to get in this book at some points I felt I was waiting for something to happen. I think there were topics in the book which could have been explored more in depth. It was a good easy read.
Thank you to Eliza J Scott and Net Galley for allowing me to read this Arc in exchange for an honest review.
