I really enjoyed this lovely romance. Noah and Lizzie were the cutest couple and I was so keen for them to get together
This was such a cute and easy to read romance. I'm not usually one that loves sports romance, but having loved football growing up this spoke to my heart. I really enjoyed the premise, the small town feel and the relationships between the characters. I also loved the extra depth given to the main character and love interest.
This was an entertaining read, even though I expected more football and less getting wasted. Most probably I'm just old and boring.
I liked Lizzie's and Noah's dedication to teaching and the way they took their job seriously. And compared to their grown up attitude to their chosen profession, it seemed a bit strange how reckless and ignorant they were in terms of drinking and constant junk eating. Yeah, I'm definitely old and boring.
i love a second chance romance and this really hit the spot for me! this was such an easy read.
the mix of angst and longing was just right for me, lizzie’s story was so sweet and i had such a good time with this book.
thank you so much to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc 🫶🏻
Lizzie is a training teacher who is incredibly competitive. She lives with her best friend Tom who is a TA. She goes to a pe lesson and is greeted with her first love Noah. This book is a very easy read. The book also addresses so tough topics in a respectful way. Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to Allison & Busby for providing me with a copy of "A Match to Remember" and including me in the blog tour. The book follows Lizzie on her teacher training journey, where she encounters her ex, Noah, at the same school. Their competitive dynamic adds humor to the story, leading to a sweet and slow-burning romance. The narrative also delves into Lizzie's past, revealing some poignant moments and handling sensitive issues with care. Lizzie's relationship with her daughter, Kirsty, is realistically portrayed, adding depth to the story. I'm eagerly anticipating another book in this series. It's a delightful read that resonates with authenticity and heart. #BookReview #RomanceNovel #TeacherTraining #BlogTour #FamilyDynamics #Relationships #BookLovers #Bookworms #SlowBurnRomance #RealisticFiction
Lizzie is about to begin her dream of training as a teacher. She gets a term before the summer holidays to observe and participate in teaching, hoping to see what it’s really like. Unexpectedly, she bumps into Noah Hatton, someone she hasn't seen in 10 years, sparking a competitive dynamic between them. The story explores what went wrong between Lizzie and Noah a decade earlier. The relationship between Lizzie and her housemate Tom, who also works at the school, adds to the fun. This is a perfect read for fans of the enemies-to-friends trope, with a well-plotted story that romance fans will love. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book; it was pure escapism. The author created great, relatable characters in Lizzie, Noah, Kirstie, and Tom.
A second chance romance, count me in.
I enjoyed reading this book, it was a quick and easy read. It had the right amount of angst.
The tension was there from the start of the book to the very end.
Overall I gave this book 4 stars 🌟 definitely recommend for fan of sports romances.
Thank you to Net Galley and Allison & Busby for providing me with an eARC .
Another great second chance-sports (ish) romance!
Amateur footballer and teacher in training, Lizzie is working hard to be the best teacher and footballer, however coming across her first and only love is not what she expected on her first day. Add in some meddling from friends and your sister.... recipe for heartbreak?
I really enjoyed reading Lizzie's story, found it a quick and easy read!
Thank you Netgalley and Allison & Busby for my eARC!
A sweet second chance romance, full of angst and longing, perfect for the summer. I really enjoyed reading a heroine with a competitive streak and loved the nostalgia it gave me for summer terms back at primary school (even though I wasn't a fan of sports day personally).
This book had everything I love about a novel in it - close friendships, a close community and potential romance. I enjoyed this author's last book, I enjoyed this one more as it had more comedic moments that I could relate to. It's funny, heartfelt and left me with a smile on my face.
✨3.5 stars✨
This was a quick and easy read! I really enjoyed the football aspects and I related to the main character Lizzie in multiple ways!
However, in my opinion it was just that so I’m not sure how much I’m going to think about this book moving forward as it didn’t necessarily leave a lasting impact on me.
Overall though, I would recommend this book to people who are looking for a fast-paced contemporary especially if there are looking for a palate cleanser. I’m looking forward to what the author writes in the future.
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Unputdownable. This is the second book from Helen Hawkins and I fell in love with the book and wanted to read it as soon as I read the words teacher training. Yes it was an eye opener into the primary school world, year six in fact, but I couldn't put Lizzie and Noah's story down. I loved everything about it from football (which I dislike) to the budding re-romance of Lizzie and Noah. Would they finally managed to make their way back to each other. Tom is the perfect flatmate for Lizzie and even though the story did hit home quiet closely it didn't fill the whole book and just touched upon,
I'll be looking out for her next book. I'd love a sequel to this to see how Lizzie get's on in her first proper year of teacher training.
