As a Swiftie, this has to be my daughter's favourite Little People, Big Dreams book. It gives the biography of Taylor from her humble origins on a Pennsylvanian Christmas Tree farm dreaming of unicorns and music to her glittering success as a megastar musician. It is so encouraging as it shows Taylor gain success despite a lack of popularity at school and maintain her strength in face of media trying to bring her down at times. She is shown to still connect with her fans with great kindness and to support those deserving. The illustrations are so pretty, making this a beautiful read that will appeal to fans of all ages. #taylorswift #littlepeoplebigdreams #mariaisabelsanchezvegara #netgalley #borghillfallberg
This is such a cute addition to the Little People Big Dreams collection. It’s a short summary of Taylor Swift’s journey to where she is now.
The colors are engaging to young children and it’s presented in a way they understand.

Favorite Quote: “[S]he realized that to stand out she needed to find her own voice.” Vegara, Maria Isabel Sanchez, Fallberg, Borghild. Little People, Big Dreams: Taylor Swift, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books. E-book ed.
Review: Thank you to the publisher, Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, and the NetGalley platform for the free e-ARC that I received in exchange for an honest review.
I know that this is wildly outside my normal realm of reading, but it seemed like a timely read to explore, and while I neither have children nor plan to have them, I am at an age where my friends are starting to have children and I am DETERMINED to help build their libraries.
That being said, I wish this book, and books like it, existed when I was younger. (Perhaps I was just unaware, but I feel like none of the books I read were about real people that were also meant to be inspirational at such a young age.) This book is clearly designed for very young readers (I’m terrible at guessing ages, but I’d say maybe preschool age?). It follows the evolution of Taylor Swift from young child, to budding artist, to international super star, with a detour here or there to explore the challenges she faced on that trajectory.
It’s hard to critique this as I would most books I review because I’m not looking for figurative language, challenging plots, or literary artistry (though this book’s artistry - the illustrations - are fun and colorful and engaging). But overall, I found it a fun, age-appropriate book about the lives of a star children are most certainly going to learn about early in their lives.
Similarly, it’s hard to find criticism, though the one thing I did notice is that the book didn’t quite address any of the valid criticisms of Taylor Swift (failure to take a stand on geo-political issues where her voice would likely influence the masses who look to her as a leader, cultural appropriation, a reliance on capitalism that few stars have perfected in the way that she has, etc.) I recognize that this is a children’s book and it is meant to be inspiring (which it is), but I don’t think a child is ever too young to learn that people are flawed - even heroes and idols.
About that Quote: It appears that the purpose of these books (so far I’ve only read this one, but I downloaded another one available on NetGalley - review coming soon) is to inspire young children to learn who they are and to follow their passions and their beliefs. This quote sums that up quite nicely, and is a message many adults (myself included) could benefit from as well. So to little and big readers everywhere, here’s the sign to find your voice.

As a Swiftie myself, discovering a book about my favorite artist in the kids' section brought me immense joy.
Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara beautifully narrates Taylor Swift's story in a sweet and captivating manner.
It serves as an inspiring tale for children, encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
The illustrations complement the narrative perfectly, adding to the enchanting experience.
Reading this book left me feeling inspired and filled with awe.
My daughter is a new Taylor Swift fan so was very keen to read this. She enjoyed finding out new things about Taylor, particularly how she got into music, and also the accompanying pictures.
Great book for any Taylor fans or just anyone wanting to learn about her in a quick, fun and engaging way.
My daughter is a big fan of Taylor Swift so of course when I saw this book on NetGalley I had to grab it for her. This was a cute read with cute illustrations. It talks about Taylor’s life and how she grew up and how she never gave up on her dreams and look at her now. It is a great read and has a great message for little kids.
I’d recommend this book to all the Swifties!
Thanks you to Netgalley for the review copy!
Perfect for any Taylor Swift lover of any age! I can’t wait to order this for all of the Swifties in my life
This was a nice biography about Taylor Swift. I liked the illustrations. It was cute and inspiring. They might have to make another one in the future.
I'm a huge fan of the Little People, Big Dreams books and was delighted to see the Taylor Swift book on NetGalley.
The first thing that stood out were the illustrations and in particular the likeness of Taylor Swift in the illustrations to how she looks in real life and how she is easily recognisable, even in the drawings of Taylor at a very young age.
As someone who grew up with Taylor's music, I was aware of her country music background, but for younger readers this book gives a great insight into the musical influences she experienced in her childhood.
This book carefully handles the issue of loneliness that many of our young people face.
Taylor Swift is inspirational in many ways and this book will give more people access to her story and give them the opportunity to feel inspired by her. A beautiful release, filled with inspiration and hope.

This is one of the books in the Little People, Big Dreams series which I've seen absolutely everywhere, but only just started working my way through! (I know ....where have I been!?)
Now, unpopular opinion coming.....but I'm really not a fan of Taylor.
I think it's so easy to be swayed by the media nowadays and I think some of the things I've seen and read - and the fact that I'm contrary and hate anything that becomes over popular! - meant that I just refused to like her.
However, I'm not completely heartless and seeing the cute tiny Taylor in this book and reading that she was bullied at school and manipulated by her record company really do make me feel for her.
Being famous is really tough!
The thing I do love is that all of those people who used to bully her - are now seeing what a massive star she is and seeing how her determination and hard work has paid off.
I hope they feel ashamed!
Having read this, I really think that maybe Taylor is a lovely person deep down and that I shouldn't judge people without knowing them - I know this already of course!
And in any case, you cannot deny her talents nor fail to admire her work ethic.
This was a super quick read - full of information - but told in a way that was interesting and fun.
The illustrations were great too, with lots of detail to look at and prompt discussion with younger readers.
This series is actually amazing and I really must add more to my tbr - there are over 100 books in the series already and, like this one, many more still being added.
Great for school libraries, classroom learning, home education shelves and for any of us adults who just love reading!
💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕
It's a cute little book telling Taylor Swift's journey in a clean, brief nutshell. It's mainly aimed at young kids. The illustrations are nice and lovely. You get a sense of stardom wonder without all the nitty gritty background. It's a nice series, but remains a bit superficial with rose-colored glasses.
My daughter is a huge Taylor Swift fan and was really excited to read this book with me. The illustrations are amazing and it was really nice being able to read through the book together while discussing what she knew about her and didn’t.
Me and my daughter are huge Taylor Swift fans so when I saw this I needed a copy.
So thank you NetGalley for giving us an advanced e-copy for an honest review.
We LOVED this book!
The colours! My daughter pinpointing all the info she knew.
Taylor is such a great icon for little girls. She is kind and beautiful (not only on the outside, but inside as well) she teaches girls to speak up and be yourselves no matter what.
I will definitely be getting this as a physical copy!
(My daughter wanted me to include =
10 stars. No 100 stars, no 1000 stars! )
An absolutely adorable book for kids (and grown up kids) of all ages.
The story of Taylor was done beautifully.
Just the cutest book for little Taylor swift fans. I’m a huge Taylor fan so when ever I see anything about her I want to read it. I love the pictures and the story so cute.
Thank you to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara., Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
I am pleasantly surprised. I'm not at all familiar with this collection of children's books and I really enjoyed this one! I like Taylor Swift's music a lot, although I'm not really a die-hard fan, and I'm not really familiar with the most scandalous things that have happened to the singer. I've seen Miss Americana, so most of the information in this album was familiar to me. But I thought it was very well explained and, above all, it can only be good for children: it teaches them resilience and to not be afraid to follow their dreams.
Taylor Swift is a role model for young people, and I think that's reflected very well in this children's book.
What's more, the illustrations are beautiful.
This biography was a great introduction to Taylor Swift’s life and career. The illustrations are beautiful and I love that the fans they included are diverse in skin tones and abilities. The back matter includes a timeline of Swift’s career which has more information about her current career and hit singles. This book will inspire young musicians to follow their dreams like Taylor. I will be purchasing a copy for my library!
This was so cute! Loved the illustrations and I think this would be a great read for little kids who love Taylor Swift ♡
Such a greatly written and illustrated book! My niece loved it so much and can’t wait to buy the physical copy!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
As a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, I knew that when I saw this book was on read now, I had to get it. Even if I am not the target audience. This book is the perfect book for any Taylor Swift fan, especially her younger ones, and I especially recommend that family members who would love to introduce children to Taylor Swift read this book! This book get's all the stars, even if the haters gonna hate, just shake it off <3
