As a huge Swiftie, it was an absolute honor to receive this book. As a lover of Little People, BIG DREAMS series, I have been waiting patiently for the day one of this is about Taylor. Like the other books in the series, it showcases people with extraordinary talent and courage, and show kids what they can do.
My son is a fan of the little people, big dreams book and I'm a fan of Taylor Swift so this was an obvious choice for us to read together. We both enjoyed it. The illustrations and text are in the style of other books in this series.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute, short biography of Taylor Swift and her life so far. I loved all the drawings and thought it was a great read.
I absolutely adored this little book, and would definitely buy it for my daughter (or myself)! I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan, and really appreciated the attention to detail in the illustrations (the Christmas stockings with her and her brother’s names, her three cats, her different outfits, the fact about who she was named after, etc.).
I only wish that there was even just one sentence about how she re-recorded her music to gain ownership over her own songs. There’s information on how she writes her own songs and how important that is, and there’s a note about The Eras Tour. But she was the first artist to re-record her music and that’s part of what not only made The Eras Tour such a big deal, it brought her fans together and made her a billionaire.
She also has a new album coming out in a few weeks, which may or may not be relevant to add.
Thank you! Can’t wait for pub day!
It's a great biography book for young children especially on someone that is current. Has amazing illustrations across every single page. Great book for a primary school library or for a music class.
Thank you NetGalley for giving me a chance to review this arc!
Overall, this was such a cute introduction to Taylor Swift. The illustrations were beautiful I enjoyed reading this book.
This is latest addition to the children’s series Little People, Big Dreams, which details the lives of various celebrities and notable people - this time around it’s about singer-songwriter Taylor Swifts rise to stardom.
Obviously limited with its page count, it does take pretty big leaps through her timeline, but it still manages to give the overall arc to her story, in a bite-sized format.
It’s sweetly laid out, with lovely illustrations, and is the perfect book to read to little budding Swifties, or youngsters who also dream of becoming musicians.
Thank you to the publishers, and Netgalley, for the copy to review.
Taylor Swift is a fantastic addition to the phenomenal Little People Big Dreams series. It's the book that all children will recognise such is their fame.
Everyone knows Taylor Swift due to her huge musical presence and worldwide dominance in the music scene. Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara tells Taylors' Life Story (so far) in a way that all young readers can understand and she uses positive, encouraging language.
Accompanied by detailed and realistic illustrations by Borghild Falberg, Taylor's achievements spring from the pages.
A book for all of the Swifties out there!
Lovely book about Taylor. I loved the representation in the illustrations too. That’s so nice for kids to see. Told Taylor’s story so well
This is a book for children and it explains Taylor Swift’s development from a child interested in music to a multi million dollar superstar. It was cute and short like the other books in this series. I liked it (especially the art) but wasn’t blown away.
Okay the illustration on this book is so adorable. As a swiftie, I absolutely adore the idea of creating a children’s book to tell Taylor’s story of inspiration and achievement. The skip from the demos to the Grammys felt a little rushed, should have elaborated more on her debut, and there were a few run on sentences and grammatical errors. Overall I loved it. Especially the illustration.
Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for my honest review!
Cute! I’ll read anything about Taylor! This would probably be a book I would buy for my nieces.
Thanks very much to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the chance to read this children’s book!
I live Taylor swift and although this is for children, I will be making the children in my life have a read of this. Taylor is such an inspiration to women and young girls and is a great role model too.
Who wouldn’t want to know a little more about their favourite pop star
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this
My young boys and I really enjoy the Little People, BIG DREAM book series. This one was about Taylor Swift and while I personally like the historical biography books more, this one was really cute and I actually learned a couple new things about Taylor Swift's early life. The illustration was colorful and adorable. This book would make the perfect gift for any Taylor Swift fan, whether child or adult.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing me a digital review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
The illustrations in this book are fantastic!! The biographical information is both interesting and inspiring. I learned some new things I did not know about Taylor. I love how she persevered and pursued her dream despite the naysayers. After all, haters gonna hate, amirite??
I'd recommend this book, obviously, to any Swiftie. Also, it would be relevant to anyone who is curious about the music business in general, or anyone who loves a good underdog success story.
Thank you to Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing a complimentary advance copy to me through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I love the Little People, Big Dreams series and this one didn't disappoint. As someone who has grown up listening to Taylor Swift, I found this really interesting and I liked that the author didn't solely focus on Taylor's musical achievements but also how she has grown up as a person. The illustrations were beautiful and really enhanced the story. As always with this series, I liked that this a biography at the end written for an older audience and suggestions for further reading.
Overall I really like this series and this book was no exception!
Another addition to this series of books tells the story of a famous person with beautiful illustrations and few words.
Few words being quite prominent at the minute, I feel like there is less and less information in these as they are going. I feel like they are trying to concentrate on getting them out rather than sticking to the great quality of information along side the illustrations. They have also stopped mentioning problematic things about the introduced person and are going on popularity instead.
Saying that Taylor Swift surely is one of the most influential people of today and a fantastic singer, songwriter and entertainer. So I feel including her was good for the Swifties and also show children it doesn’t matter how old you are. You can achieve your dream at any age.
Once more this series of books tells the story of a famous person with beautiful illustrations and few words.
Even though I personally don‘t like that these books don‘t mention problematic things about the introduced person, I like that there are more and more ways shown how people stand out and be themselves.
Taylor Swift surely is one of the most influential people today and a fantastic singer and songwriter and entertainer. So it was a nice read to show kids about her beginnings.
Taylor Swift by Marie Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a cute children’s biography about Taylor Swift.
The book is easy to read. I liked the way the author mentioned Swifties as the children that will really want this book will have. Connection to that. I love that they pointed out how caring and community minded Taylor Swift is, showing the reader not just the pop and country singer, but her heart and caring as well.
The illustrations are bright and fun
Who doesn’t love Taylor? This is an adorable, well-illustrated book that is sure to become beloved by Swifties and even parents who are looking to learn a bit more about Taylor. True to Taylor’s reputation, this did a beautiful job of illustrating empowerment and kindness. What a great example for young girls!
