Ploof goes on an adventure to make a rainbow! this was super cute! I will definitely be buying this one for my kiddo. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy.
I love the Ben Clayton titles, and this one is a perfect kids book. It's a short but engaging read for little ones about painting. I can't wait to read more in the Ploof collection.
This is a cute and interactive picture book about trying new things, taking a breath when things don't go right, and trying again. It would be perfect for read alouds and story times as it's interactive by asking kids to wave, point to shapes, etc.
A cute follow-up to Ploof! This book explores the ups and downs of learning something new. The book includes reader interaction - naming, looking for items and a wave (kids love this!!)
This book is targeted towards young readers, but would be a comfort read for early readers as well.
A digital ARC was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This review was posted publicly on StoryGraph.
Ploof is so much fun! I love the combination of learning to paint a rainbow, a tiny bit of color mixing, emotions, friendship, and interactivity of Paint with Ploof. The story speaks right to the reader and invites participation, and I'm guessing, that young readers will want to go right away and make their own rainbow! Delightful story and illustrations. Ploof is pretty cute!
Very cute interactive story about a young cloud who wants to paint a rainbow. Simple but fun illustrations.
Paint with Ploof is absolutely adorable and I love how interactive it is. While I was reading it on my computer, I could imagine all the fun my son would have if we had the book in front of us. I want to try reading it together now!
For being such a short book, there's important lessons here too. It's ok to be sad if something doesn't go the way you want, but take a few deep breaths, move on and try again,
The writing was fun and engaging. At some points the narrator spoke directly to you as the reader and sometimes to the main character, Ploof. It made you feel part of the story. I enjoyed the directions that we were given in order to interact with the book.
Some of the vocabulary used was at quite a high level, so it was definitely a story to be read to a younger child. I liked that though as again it made everyone feel part of the story.
The text was in a clear font and was split between being separate from the illustrations and on a white background, and at other points it was integrated into the story and was on a light blue background. Sometimes there was the odd word separated from the main text to add interest, but it was always clear where you should read.
The illustrations were cute and added to the enjoyment of the story. They were simple, bright and clear which meant that your attention was where it should be and not getting confused by lots of detail.
I loved the main character and I liked the little lessons that were touched upon in the book.
Overall an entertaining, interactive read that I highly recommend.
Super cute read, kids will love the adorable Ploof. Story is simple but it has a nice message about how we all mess up sometimes and get upset, and that's ok. We can just take a moment to collect ourselves, learn and go right on having fun!
Paint with Ploof is an adorable book about Ploof learning to make a rainbow.
This would be a perfect book for preschool or kindergarten classrooms. It’s such a fun, interactive book! My favourite part was when Ploof was able to cry, as it such an important lesson for children.
I would recommend this book to anyone with kids in their lives.
Ben Clayton has moved a little away from early graphic nobles into a picture book. This picture book revolves around a cloud that wants to learn to paint but he hast to learn the rainbow first. This is a fantastic successor to Press Here and books like it. It does a good job of being active and being unique at the same time. Plus if you’re smart, you just might find a narwhal. Clayton writes it and I will read it.
I really like Ben Clanton's Narwhal and Jelly series, and this new story was impressive for a picture book!
I love how Ploof the cloud is doing something for the very first time and we the readers get to help! We're making a rainbow and there are a lot of interactive parts like choosing the right shape and colors.
It doesn't turn out perfectly like Ploof hoped and there is a sad moment of disappointment, which I loved. It's so encouraging for kids to see emotions expressed and navigated in healthy ways.
In the end, the rainbow it unique and cute and looks just like Ploof! Ploof wants to try more things with the paint and has a fun time sharing their pictures with us!
I adored the first Ploof book and this one is equally fun! I love the level of interactivity for kids as well as the way the book subtly brings in emotions in a feasible way for the target audience.
Paint with Ploof is such a cute follow-up to the last Ploof book! I think it would be great for kids who are learning shapes and colors as that's a big part of the book. I think this would make an amazing birthday gift for 2-3 year olds especially with some no mess coloring supplies like crayons or color wonder markers. This is a great interactive book, which sets it apart from other titles. The book has you wave, say what color is missing, etc. It has adorable illustrations and builds understanding of colors and shapes. Definitely recommend for the little one in your life!
This book is great for toddlers! I love that the colors are calming and not overwhelming. The storyline is cute and engages the reader. I like that it has the reader point to the page and allows them to interact with the storyline. Overall, I would recommend this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Tundra Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
"Paint with Ploof" is a fun, whimsical book with a simple plot about helping a cloud make a rainbow. The text consists of short, simple sentences that allow readers to interact with the story (Do a rainbow wave! Make yourself big! Take a deep breath!). The illustrations are brightly painted and easy for young eyes to focus on. This is a perfect book for t3-5 year olds to learn about colors, learning new things, and that even mistakes can have positive outcomes.
An adorable book with lovely watercolour style illustrations. I like how the book is engaging and encourages young readers to learn shapes and colour. There are also little breathing exercises and comforting words about emotions and trying things again. Will definitely recommend! 🌈☁️
Ploof the cloud is always super fun and interactive. This new book is about Ploof creating its first rainbow. Despite a few obstacles, Ploof finally makes its first rainbow and it's wonderful!
I read this to my four month old. She loved the bright colors. I love that the book teaches kids calming techniques and has a message it’s okay to mess up and try again. Loved this so much!!
A delightful, interactive picture book that explores social emotional skills. Kids will enjoy helping Ploof paint their first rainbow and relate to their feelings when things don’t go as planned. The authors incorporate a simple calming technique that kids can practice when they are feeling overwhelmed by their emotions and need a moment. There’s a good balance of text and illustrations on each page. I can see this being a great read aloud in one on one or group settings!
