I tried out this new to me author because her website blog was faith based. But man oh man is her writing not. It was all about skin and body parts. Faith was only thrown in as a church and wearing crosses. Cheating boyfriends, heavy make-out sessions, and sleeping with people as normal parts of life is not the type of book I wanted to read, even if it was closed-door. My mistake. I also didn't care for all the potty talk--I didn't find it funny, just somewhat crude. Also, there was a lot of repetition in their thoughts, and it just never pulled me into the day to day things they went through.

This is just fantastic and I just could not put it down! It’s well written, well crafted, full of imagination, full of humour and had me laughing out loud with tears! A fast-paced, spellbinding romance complete with outrageous and hot hot hot characters, this is another hit for this author!

Sadly, this became a DNF for me. I had not heard of this author but saw a friend share about this book and the opportunity to read an advanced copy. I first signed up for her newsletter and read the prequel novella that came as a freebie. I really enjoyed it. I liked the author's writing style and humor. I enjoyed the premise of that book how it set up this one. So, I eagerly applied for an ARC through Netgalley.

Once approved, I put this at the top of my TBR. First off, I don't read blurbs, so I was a little disappointed to see who the MMC was for this story. I do not like cheating stories. And as I read, Luke just kept getting worse. I could not make myself like him.

In the Netgalley overview it said that it had Christian elements. That gave me expectations of a definite vibe that the book didn't hold to.. I don't want preaching or even heavily laden faith elements in a story. I can take some jokes or innuendo. What I couldn't take was "booty calls". Between that and the possibility that ghosts may show up, I had to DNF around the 40 percent mark.

I did read the last chapter and part of the epilogue and must say that I am glad with my decision. I can see that there would have been other plot elements that would have bothered me. It just wasn't for me.

I do thank the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to give this one a try. Perhaps a different plot line may work for me by this author. There were elements to her story that I really did enjoy.
