Really enjoyed this one! I should have read it so much sooner! But I don’t regret it. This maybe a new obsession! I love the characters, plot, etc.

I seem to be having a streak of bad luck lately with the books I'm reading lately because once again, I read a book that didn't really fit the genre that it was described as. Although this book was classified as mystery and suspense, I think it was more of a romance. Steamy romance, but still a romance book. There was some elements of a mystery, when the couple take a vacation, but the main theme seems to be a couple getting older and having to decide if they can made adjustments for each other together or if it's better to end things. The idea was interesting, and it kept me reading until the end but I was really expecting something quite different from this book.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the chance to read this ARC.

Ok, this book was not what I expected from the synopsis. I expected a sweet, love story of this couple growing older and dealing with his cancer. Nope this was a swinger, porn book. I would not recommend this book.

ARC received from Netgalley
Although I did finished this book it was hard to get into I love books with a lot of spice and romance especially when it is used well in the plot but I struggled with it here the plot focuses on when Tess and Jack's strong marriage is tested when complications from Jack's surgery bring them back to a place of memories. As they confront internal demons and external temptations, they must put their values to the test and risk losing everything, including each other. Jack must decide if he is willing to make sacrifices for Tess's happiness, while Tess navigates her longing for the perfect marriage alongside his recovery. Throw in a dash of mystery when a friend gets attacked near the home they vacation in and they try to solve the mystery of who the attacker is while saving a wrongfully accused friend.

Was this book what I was expecting? No not at all.

I originally went into this book expecting it be a mystery with some romance/sexual aspects sprinkled in. It ended up being an incredibly sexually descriptive book with an undercurrent of a mystery. While not what I was expecting, it wasn't bad at all.

Unforntuatley, for me, I find spicy scenes that are written by men a little off-putting. The scenes were written with a heavy focus on the MFC body and what appealed to the MMC. The author also seemed to focus quite heavily on the MFC c-section scar and how he was attracted to it which as a woman reading this gave me the "ick" in these moments. If the author had gave equal emphasis to the emotional connection of the characters and not just the physical aspects I feel as though these scenes would have been more impactful.

Overall an interesting read that definitely has a more niche audience but I'm sure if it hits right could find a lot of popularity on "BookTok" in the coming months.

I don’t think I was remotely ready for this book at all and I am okay with that. The old saying don’t judge a book by its cover really applied to this one because once you get into the book you realize we are dealing with a Mystery, who done it story. Though also there is a lot of sex and sexual encounters all throughout and while the main characters are trying to solve the mystery they are also trying to find themselves again after being married for so long and going through normal life changes and illnesses. I would have liked a little more of the mystery part to play out better.
