I have read several books by Jill Shalvis, and this one definitely didn't disappoint!.
A mission to clear her Dad's name, and a fantastic romantic story throughout.... I loved this read.

Another great book in this series. I loved the strong bond between the sisters and their commitment to their father to clear his name. Lots of fun, romance and intrigue make this a great summer read

it was an "okay" romance - a pleasant read, but nothing i haven't read before. the beginning was quite hard to get into, but after that, everything flowed easily. i especially enjoyed the strong sister bond presented in the story; those relationships always make me swoon. however, i didn't really get into the romance between anna and owen. he seemed to change so quickly after meeting her, while she remained quite reserved. it didn't make sense for owen to keep saying things like "you're the best woman i know" every other chapter when they had barely met and knew so little about each other.

overall, it's a decent, easy read! with a lot of dialogue, you can fly through it pretty quickly.

The Summer Escape is the 6th in Jill Shalvis's Sunrise Cove series. Anna is a private investigator who comes back to her home town at the behest of her sister Wendy, in order to clear their father's name of stealing a necklace belonging to Owen's aunt. Even though they are on opposite sides, Owen and Anna have an undeniable attraction to one another. I really enjoyed this story - I loved the premise around the hunt for the truth. The Summer Escape is a heartwarming rom-com with witty banter, emotion, a bit of mystery and super chemistry between Anna and Owen. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

I loved this book so much! It was amazing from the start! I loved the relationship that the sisters had and also the love they had for their dad it was beautiful. This story was so good and I just couldn’t help but to read on to find out the truth. The characters in this book are just so beautiful and quirky. It’s just a brilliant book from start to finish.

I would highly recommend reading this book and the others in the Sunrise Cove series as they are all amazing books.

I would like to thank Headline Eternal and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book early.

Mystery, adventure with a romance developing along the way, what’s not to like?! Anna is forced to work with Owen after discovering an antique coin, which may or may not have once belonged to Owen’s great aunt, now suffering with dementia. Touches of humour are added through Anna’s sister, Wendy’s insistence on being involved in the investigation via a GoPro or phone connection. The way she chips in her opinions at inopportune moments is very amusing. I found this a very enjoyable Summer read.

Set in the gorgeous Tahoe, The Summer escape is a lovely story that incorporates family relationships and romance.
Anna and her sister, pregnant with triplets are very close and protective of each other.
Anna has been hurt in the past with her previous relationships so is definitely not looking for romance of any kind. However, when she is set to find a missing ruby necklace and coins belonging to Owen’s Great Aunt a spark is lit that cannot be ignored.
I loved all the characters in this book: Sister Wendy with her humour and bossiness, Owen’s Great Aunt Ruby as her memory slips in and out as her Alzheimer’s affect her. Owen is adventurous, caring and sexy and fun to be around and Anna with her fierce protective relationship not only with her sister but also with herself.
Both Anna and Owen had difficult childhoods and are hesitant due to trust issues but as they both have caring traits, their mutual attraction is off the scale.
My thanks to Net Galley and publishers Headline for the advanced digital copy of this 5 star read.

A very enjoyable story with romance and mystery, with Jill Shalvis's trademark snarkiness and humour throughout!

Anna is a private investigator and when a gold coin is found in her deceased father's belongings, that was involved in a larger robbery of valuable gold coins and a necklace many years ago, things start to get interesting! How did her father come by this coin? In comes Owen, whose elderly aunt is the owner of all the stolen items, who is now in a memory care facility battling dementia and has good and bad days so getting answers out of her, without upsetting her, proves quite difficult.

Anna and and Owen team up, reluctantly on Anna's part, to find out the answers, and see if they can locate the stolen items and clear her father's name. We also have Wendy, Anna's very pregnant (with triplets!) sister, who is stuck at home on bed-rest and bored, and wants to know exactly what's going on with trying to clear their Dad's name, which leads to some very funny moments!

So lots of humour, family dynamics, romance and mystery throughout, which makes for a very enjoyable read!

This was captivating from the start. I liked the sisters Anna and Wendy, I loved their banter and squabbling it really made me laugh and you could see how much they loved each other.

The twist was finding a coin from their late father and then the real bones of the story take off. Owen and Anna may appear to be on opposite sides but it soon becomes clear that Owen cares for Anna and despite what Anna might think about her dad Owens opinion changes and he works hard to help Anna letting her lead and be a strong independent woman.

As the story unfold I really enjoyed the relationship between these two. Each new twist that unfolded Owen let Anna digest it and figure out a plan of action. The final part with the searching for the caves really had my heart in my mouth with the descriptions of the heights and the rocks and the danger of the cliff edge.

Brilliant from start to finish with a triplet birth for added cuteness. The name suggestions throughout the book were amazingly funny.

This was a great read. I loved the characters and story. It was romance with a little mystery and fun sister relationship. The title is a really odd choice and doesn't fit the book at all.

The Summer Escape is signature Jill Shalvis: small-town, adorable siblings relationship with the usual love/exasperation dynamics, main characters who fall hard for each other, and all of it, this time, with a mystery/adventure for them.
I really enjoyed reading this story! I know that a Shalvis story is a guaranteed good time, one of few authors who writes consistently great stories.

Thank you to Headline Eternal for the ARC via Netgalley UK. All opinions are my own.

Jill Shalvis once again delivers a tale brimming with heart, mystery, intrigue, and humor. The characters in this book captured my affection with their authenticity. The bond between Anna and Wendy, forged by their shared love and the absence of familial ties, felt remarkably genuine. Wendy's husband provided a compelling contrast to the two women, especially with Wendy's impending pregnancy adding another layer to the dynamic. The discovery of a rare coin among their late father's possessions introduces a tantalizing mystery, accompanied by ensuing questions and accusations.

The seamless flow of the narrative and the undeniable chemistry between Anna and Owen kept me engrossed. Each character possessed layers of complexity, enriching the storytelling experience. I appreciated how the narrative delved into various aspects of life and relationships, including the poignant portrayal of Ruby's struggle with dementia. This aspect resonated deeply, acknowledging the challenges faced by many families navigating similar circumstances without the luxury of constant caregiving. Overall, this is a captivating and poignant tale that resonates long after the final page is turned.
