Thank you for the ARC!

I sooo wanted to enjoy this book and I thought the premise was rather unique but it kind of fell short. This was very much an insta-love story and it made me realize how much I don't like that. It just is very unrealistic to have them fall in love after not even going out on a date first regardless of the fact that this is a work of fiction.

I found Hannah to be an incredibly hard character to be in the head of. It was frustrating having to read through her talking about how Eric treated her horribly just for her to say that she's doing all of this to appease her parents. It also felt like her inner monologue was just repetitive; talking about Meli, then talking about how her parents would disapprove, then compare Meli and Eric. And with the amount that she talked about Meli, why did it take her so long to end the relationship with Eric? Not only that, but what I found rather out of character for her was how she went from being nervous with her words to suddenly taking a stand against Eric. Meli was slightly more bearable of a character. Granted, her whole insta-love and fawning over Hannah thing got old quickly, but at least I wasn't actively rooting for her chapters to be over.

The beginning parts of the book were fine, if not a bit millennial core, but turning the 20% mark of the book just made me wish the book would finish sooner.

This was a very sweet and short sapphic romance.
I really identified with Hannah, with her struggles in social situations. Meli was just the sweetest, and I enjoyed seeing this new and tender love story blossom.

However, there were a couple problematic plot points that could be improved on or that this story simply didn’t need.
The fiancé was just a caricature of a cartoon villain, the side characters didn’t have much substance to them, and there was no resolution with Hannah’s parents.
Too many holes in the story for this to be more than a three.

Also, this is a personal preference, I wish there was even just a little bit of smut. The romance is somewhat a slow burn, and to get all the way to 70% just for it to be fade to black is a bit disappointing.
