This book was, unfortunately, a hard read - not because it was badly written, quite the opposite - it was a hard read because of the plethora of characters. There are dozens of characters, some key to the storyline, others just to add a conversation setting something up, etc. Of course when there are tons of characters, it is often hard to tell them apart. At times, it was hard to tell who were allies and who were enemies or why.

This book is the latest in a series, Midnight Hunters, and it is definitely not a stand alone within the series because the author makes little or no effort to introduce her characters to a reader who hasn’t read the other books in the series and will be lost through the entire book.

If the topic of this book intrigues you, do start with the first book in the series, Midnight Hunt (2010). You will undoubtedly be hooked on the storyline and the characters of the first book, and reading the previous eight books may help you understand the events and characters in this book.

My thanks to Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley for an eARC.

The Midnight Hunters series has the prolific Radclyffe writing a fantasy world with Weres, Vampires, and Faes. She is such a good storyteller that you are as lost in this world as you are in the Provincetown and Justice series. The fact that these are wolf weres or cat weres, or whatever, is a side issue as we get caught up in their lives - and loves. These folks like to ‘tangle’ a lot…

The battle scenes are brilliant but you need to have read the earlier books to understand the dynamics of good and evil. And why wouldn’t you want to read the others? Alpha Sylvan Mir and her Prima Drake are the core of all stories as they grow and change as a couple. Drake is the only one who ever sees the Alpha in a vulnerable state and their relationship is lovely. Supportive yet challenging. The books introduce a new central couple each time and Primal Hunt has Anya - a wolf were - linked with Rafe, one of the most powerful vampires. The vampires need to feed if they are injured in battle and Anya volunteers to help Rafe but they find themselves in a partnership involving more than blood and feeding.

Radclyffe/Raand handles the whole complex plot and the various relationships like the expert she is and we are swept up in the jeopardy. Who will survive the revenant beasts that threaten all the inhabitants of Raand’s world? There is angst and anger and anxiety and lots of action. A great series.

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Alpha Syvan Muir and her allies are preparing for a battle that might have everyone surviving. I love how each book have a love story we get to see and this time it’s with Anya who we met a little in the beginning she gets a chance to fight by using her strong telepathic abilities she is pair with Rafe one of the most powerful vampire in the world and Rafe is intrigued by her who vow that Anya will come to her willingly. This was such action pack story with love and how you can be different but once you found your place and families anything is possible I love this series I reread multiple times wishing that this series was onscreen I like how the author intertwine every character how you get a glimpse into their lives without overpowering the story you telling.

I have to say that there is not any book by Radclyffe (aka LL Raand) that I have read that I have not thoroughly enjoyed and this one is no exception. We meet again all the main characters from previous Midnight Hunters books. Good read.

As soon as I knew that „Primal Hunt“ was coming out soon, I started reading and listening to all the books and audio in the „Midnight Hunter series“.
It's a complex and beautiful world with lots of incredible and strong characters.
The books should be read in order, so you can understand the story of the battle that
Alpha Sylvan Mir is waging with her Prima Drake and her allies.
Each book has a romance or an additional story that is told and wonderfully portrays the wolves deep need for "mating" and securing the pack and loved one.
This part, and I hope there will be more, is about Anya.
A Timberwolf Were that we met at the beginning of the series, but only briefly.
She is given the honor of finally fighting and using her very strong telepathic abilities.
These are difficult and dangerous times for the pack.
The Allies are Liege Jodie Gates Vampires of Chasseur de Nuit, who also have to rely on the Weres in battle.
And so, another liaison is formed between these two very different Praeterns.
„Rafe“ as "Senechal" of Liege Jody Gates, is one of the most powerful Vampires on earth and her dark yet flaming eyes will not let Anya go!
Anya will feed this Vampire voluntary and she‘ll enjoy it!

As always, it is full of wild fights, but also sensual and tender moments that fills them with fear but also devotion.
It is also very hot and the Praeterns do not miss the opportunity to strengthen their power and bonds through love for each other wherever and whenever they can!
Brilliantly written, as always!
I thank L.L. Raand and of course NetGalley and Bold Stroke Books for this ARC!

Alpha Syvan Muir, her mate Prima Drake, their wolf pack as well as the vampires, cat pack and Fae are about to take part in a battle for all.
Gates that previously were to be used for magical transportation have been activated and are unleashing the walking dead to over throw them all.
They must all work together to stop them which means they must trust each other. After centuries as enemies it’s not easy.
The battle will be intense as their bloodlust.
This is the 9th installment to The Midnight Hunters series and if you haven’t read any of the others I would suggest that you start at the beginning to follow this incredible series.
We waited along time for this one and it was worth the wait. I highly recommend this series and author.

Thank you #NetGalley #BoldStrokesBooks #PrimalHunt #MidnightHunters for this ARC

Great showdown across the realms: weres, vampires, fairies battling it out
This is the 9th installment of this great fantasy series which started 2010. Every single book and Primal Hunt is no exception is excellent.
Primal Hunt again excels with dense, breathtaking action, ruthless, bloody skirmishes and a final big battle. The main characters are bound by love and sex. With all this fighting and bonding I always love how Raand (aka radclyffe) holds all the story threads developed in earlier books masterfully in her hands and brings them together. Never a boring minute in the Hunt-series. Again the world-building is detailed and superb.
Although the story-arc of the previous books comes to a conclusion with Primal Hunt there is an opening for more - namely the adventures of the next generation. I hope we will see more of this compelling fantasy universe.

I received an ARC via netgalley. The review is left voluntarily.
