Fit for very small kids, it's a vibrant and colourful book. While the concept itself was quite nice, I felt my preschooler would've enjoyed a proper story a little more.
Monsters at School by Laura Baker is an adorable and imaginative story that my younger patrons are going to love! The charming illustrations and playful narrative capture the fun of school from a monster's perspective, making it both entertaining and relatable. I enjoyed how it addresses themes of friendship and acceptance in a lighthearted way—perfect for sparking kids' imaginations!
This was a pretty good book. The illustrations were amazing and helped bring all these different characters to life. The rhyming was a nice touch and helped move the story along at a steady pace. Most kids will have a blast reading this book.
What a fun children’s book? Monsters at School is a great entertainment for young children. The colourful illustrations, the story about first day at school is sure to keep them interested.
The silly dog hiding in every page is also a clever bonus game!
Monsters at School by Laura Baker is for sure another Quarto Publishing Group success!

This book was the cutest book! It was so colorful and bright! I really liked all the rhyming that it had. I would 100% buy this for a child that is into monsters!
I’m really enjoying this "Monsters" series—this is the second one we've read, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite! I love the playful, song-like rhyming, and how it's a quick, easy read—perfect for those nights when you're too tired for a long story. The pages are packed with vibrant, busy illustrations that make for great conversation starters with the kids. Every time we read it, there’s always something new to discover!
Thank you, NetGalley!
We loved this book!
We have read all of the books that have been released in this series so far and they are such fun!
My daughter loved finding the hidden dog monster on the different pages - we normally read the book first, then go through again looking for the hidden ones to get as much as we can out of the book. It is great for bedtime and something to look forward too.
She thought that this one was brilliant, loved the words used, the rhyming nature - it was easy for her to read and follow. She read it all without any help from me on the words so that made it even more enjoyable for her as it helps with her independence.
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended and a perfect book for little ones – fab, fun and engaging!
Such fun and colorful illustrations and so much to look at on each page! I loved the short rhyming lines, and the addition of a fun little look and find activity at the end will be a real hit with kids. This would be a great addition to any home library.
This was really cute and the illustrations were amazing! As a teacher, I giggled because I can picture my students doing some of these things. My son really loved this one because he started preschool/MDO this year, so he could really relate to some of the things. I loved that at the end, we were given a fun task. So we went back through the book to o complete that!
Fun and colorful book. I would like a clear going-to-school start and going-home ending, maybe another page, just because I´m trying to explain to my 3yo that we always go to school and return home at the same hour every day, but it's not really a problem.
This is a colorful and fun picture book. It reminds me of books I read as a child - with a fun nostalgic feel. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cute picture book. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I love these cute monster books! The are illustrated so cute, colorful and unique. The words are quick and easy to read. The story rhymes and is fun. Great kids book!
My three year old loved this. It made her giggle. She loved the illustrations and finding the dog in all the scenes. Perfect book for new readers.
This was incredibly charming! The vibrant artwork instantly caught my eye and filled me with excitement. The monsters are hilarious, and the level of detail in the chaotic scenes is truly impressive. I especially loved the hidden game at the end—it made me want to dive back in and reread the whole thing just to find the dog monster. This book is a joy from start to finish, offering a wonderfully entertaining experience!
Monsters at School is a super-fun rhyming book with lots of monsters engaging in all sorts of activities on their first day at school.
The illustrations in this book are superb - very vivid and bright. I really enjoyed the rhyming throughout this book and, at the end, there’s a wonderful game you can play by finding Dog Monster in every scene - there are lots of other fun activities you can do with this book too with little kiddos (e.g., finding all the green monsters or all the monsters with hats).

This was a wonderful book and I'll be purchasing it for the library!
This book seems like a jumbled mess, but it’s a fun rhyming book with a beautiful cadence that kids are going to want to read again and again. Sometimes it’s a little hard to find the words on the page which might make it hard for story time, but the prose so simple. It would be easy to memorize.
Funny book about the little monsters aka young KG children who on their very first day seems like so. They play, the create chaos, they lunch together and what not? But that is the age for it all.
It is a good rhyming book and it doesn't just make children laugh while reading and realizing they do it all, but also it helps them instill good values as it has been depicted here that Monsters also clean their place and do school work.
It is good to improve vocabulary but it also make children feel that it is okay to create such conditions rather than learning.
Graphical Artwork is very bright and playful by Nina Dzyvulska, however bit too much for a single page, but she tried to present every single corner of the place they roam/wander around in classroom. She had shown complete mayhem.
Only setback is there is not proper outcome and story to back it well. There must always be either of one in all.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.
I love the monsters books. The illustrations are so much fun and looking for Yip monster is a fun add-on.
The pages were super colorful. I loved how busy there were, perfect for seek and find games with a toddler.
