Cute story! Excited for the next book. I would have loved a little more development with deacon. He was just a ‘meh’ villain for me but overall a lovely and well written story in my book!

Thank you @victoryeditingngc and @netgalley for the eARC of Starstruck: The Starlight Series Book 1 by @authorivydawes in exchange for an honest review!
📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 Starstruck is an adorable rom com! Like so many, Kat moved to Hollywood with big dreams. However, those dreams are not exactly what she thought they would be and she’s relinquished to the bottom of the barrel and dejected after being dumped. What does every good rom com need? An adorable meet cute! Thanks to the help of an amazing makeup artist, this one is especially good. The “extra” Kat is working with turns out to be a dreamy movie star. Suddenly her outlooks starts to look a lot different when their chemistry ignites! Ivy Dawes creates a wonderfully optimistic tone that is refreshing and carries the story in a wonderful fashion. Starstruck is just a delightful, fun, light, read that is sure to brighten the day!

This was just delicious - exactly what I expected. A cute, funny, light-hearted romance with a little spice sprinkled between the pages. ❤️
If you're looking for a super sweet, light hearted romance, with a tiniest bit of on page spice. This is for you! (and by tiny - I mean, about half a paragraph ♥️)
Celebrity x Aspiring Actress with a contract that could make or break their relationship.
Aspiring Actress Katherine (Kat to her friends) Caplan is defeated! Her relationship just ended, her 'boss' is a demanding jerk and career is going no-where. Little does she know, one wrong turn could be the greatest mistake of her life.
Enter James Everrett, leading man on Starlight Productions latest movie Under Violet Skies. Being famous has it's perks, but for James, the limelight isn't something he seeks. Desparate to get to the end of his movie and reach new management status in his family's company, his plans are derailed when he meet's a tearful PA at the back of the studios.
Kat and James are both incredibly wholesome characters, I loved watching them realise they could be themselves around each other, and allowing themselves to heal (and the late night phone calls ignited a hint of nostalgia of being young and in love)
"You have always deserved someone who puts your first and makes you feel seen and heard and love."

I'm going to start this review out by saying that for a debut novel, this is a fantastic start. The story is well written and the characters are fleshed out well. The tropes are well represented and well done. The plot moves along at a proper pace and the supporting characters succeed in their job. Knowing that Roman is the center of the next book, I wouldn't have minded seeing a bit more of him here though, but I look forward to it nonetheless. I was provided this ARC in exchange for my honest review and it was honestly a pleasurable read.

Overall I enjoyed this book, it was very fast-paced and easy to read. The main characters Kat and James are very likeable and have a great connection. However, I did find myself cringing slightly in places and therefore feel it is much more suited to 18+ young adults, a similar audience to the likes of 'Icebreaker' and other viral 'Booktok' books.

3.75/5, this was super cute! I loved the celeb romance of it all and found both characters really likable. I got a little frustrated with James toward the end, but I don't think it was dragged out too long. I enjoyed the romance and the spice, with a little bit of drama and angst tossed in. Pretty strong debut from Ivy Dawes!!

I really enjoyed this, first I love a celebrity love story especially when they are as adorable and sweet as James. My heart
I loved how this was set around a film being made was a nice change.
I loved the character’s Kat was definitely my favourite no matter what life throws at her she still smiling and making jokes. I loved the banter the silliness.
The side characters im really hoping they get their own stories I need more.
This is lovely easy read with a sweet couple and a cool setting.

There’s just something about the MMC saying”my girl” that literally makes me swoon. This book was so good I read it in one sitting. I loved how protective and supportive James was. Everything about this story was amazing and I definitely can’t wait for the next book! If you love forbidden romance, secret relationship, celebrity romance, dual pov, and HEA then you should add this to your TBR list!

There are some great tropes in this book! There’s secret relationships, family drama, hidden identity, celebrities, FMC chasing her dream, he falls hard, damsel in distress
I liked this book, there were so many cute scenes. Their first phone call and him carrying her because of her sore feet AHH I was squealing 🥰
Kat is insecure (rightfully so because of her crappy ex) and a struggling PA. James is a famous actor who has a bad relationship with his father.
They were great for each other! Their relationship developed quite fast and their feelings for each other were giving instalove (ish).
This is a very sweet, quick and easy read.

Kat is ex-actress who is miserable working as a PA on the big movie until she meets a background actor.... But it turns out that he's James- the leading star. Only problem is that the studio wants him to enter into a fake relationship....
Love the characters. I like the banter and the fun. Love the sexy scenes too.
Really enjoy the plot.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Have to DNF this one at 27% I'm afraid. It read like a YA rom-com and that's totally fine but it was too cheesy (don't get me started on the puns) and I couldn't connect to either of the leads so I couldn't even root for them...
This book would probably be better for the younger crowd I'm sure they'd love it! Maybe it even has a younger age rating and I just missed it, in that case I'm sorry...
