This book is so cute! Exactly the kind of story that I would want for a dino-obsessed kiddo. There is a heavy lean on imagination and play - introducing a cast of characters and different dinosaurs. There's also dino facts sprinkled into the storyline to help kids learn about dinos while still enjoying the fun and engaging story.

The illustrations are cute and colorful - very bold and bright to support the story and move the narrative along while matching what the words on the page are saying. Overall, would be a cute addition to any kids book collection. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC to read and review!

The Day I had a Dinosaur is a children's story with positive messaging and a fun premise.. I loved the playful and animated fonts, which made the book great fun to read aloud. The way the facts about dinosaurs were combined with humorous illustrations makes them really accessible for kids to learn ('....dinosaurs can't even fit under the monkey bars'!). The interactions between the young children and the dinosaurs fostered messages of inclusivity, caring, adaptability, self care, and problem solving. We particularly loved the dinosaur hide and seek!

The illustrations were bright, vibrant and expressive, really bringing both dinosaurs, children and their amusing antics to life.

Thank you MamaBear Books and NetGalley for a copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

Everyone loves a good Dino book! This was a fun book about children playing with dinosaurs and helping them to have fun, even though there’s a big size different. When T-rex got frustrated, his friends took the time to make sure he could be included and showed him to be patient and try new ways to play. My daughters loved this one.

Who doesn’t love a book about dinosaurs! In this book we meet Luke and his friends. The kids have the best-osaurus time when their toys come to life. This adorable book demonstrates friendship, support, persistence, and being part of a group. I love the way the kids learned to work together.
There are pictures of dinosaurs along with the pronunciation of dinosaur names making it easy to sound out the names. Kids will learn the size of the dinosaur as well as the different types.
Great book, Creative and fascinating!

I love the art style of this book! I also really like that the author includes pronunciation for big words, as this helps kids sound out words that might seem intimidating to them. The story was great for teaching children that just because you might have a physical limitation does not mean that you cannot find alternatives or adaptations to fit in with the crowd.

Thank you to NetGalley, MamaBear Books | Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles, and Ashley Wall for the opportunity to read and review this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lovely colourful book bringing to life the imagination of Luke and his dinosaurs. I liked the emphasis on positive language and pronunciation for dinosaur names. My son wanted me to re-read straight away and joined in. He really liked that Rex didn’t give up and no one made fun of him but helped him to help himself find a way to overcome the problem - alternative sport, teaching to throw and practice.

A cute, charming story about a group of friends and their dinosaur pals learning how to adapt to situations and learn new ways of doing things while including others! The colors and diverse text styles would make this book appealing to children, and would work well visually for storytime, but it is a bit too long for younger attention spans, so perhaps only for school aged read alouds.

Before nap time for the two little boys, we do story time. 📖📚Or try to each day 🤪 And today since it was rainy, windy and cold, we did more than normal. The boys LOVED these books. All of them were such cute stories and had fun illustrations. My oldest son asked lots of great questions. My middle son said, “again mommy again!!!” My favorite was Violin of Hope. It was all about the holocaust. Such a great book for elementary school teachers with that topic. It was so heartfelt and had such sweetness to it. The Big Book of Useless Knowledge had my oldest son just bursting with questions, because it was so fun!! I use to teach preschool for five years, so a fun new children’s book is always a joy for me to share with the boys before rest time. Add these to your summer reading lists! Thank you @netgalley for these advance copies.
