This novel was okay, but I loved the writing. I liked the characters, and the story was decent, with some amazing parts. Overall, I would give it four stars.

I liked this book more than I thought I would in some ways and less in others. The main character has flaws which makes for a good read but also kind of easy to haye at times and for things he says…and likewise, some of the other characters are one-dimensional.
That being said, it’s a nice and light beach read with great descriptions of the different “dive sites” the author has dreamt up (or maybe refabricated from experience.) There are enough of them and at decent intervals to keep the story going although I did find myself skimming parts. TLDR; fish and scenery descriptions were great, character development was OK; storyline was meh. Light (nice) but one-time read for me
