Ben and Abi are driving home in the fog when they take a wrong turn. Soon after they find a man walking in the road and a car broken down with a woman and a baby. Feeling they need to help they agree to a lift. What’s the worst that could happen…?
It took a few chapters for this to get going but once it did I was gripped to the pages of this crazy thriller! You feel the character’s unease and feel something isn’t right, desperately trying to figure it out. There are some good twists, which added to the mystery and the drama. Once this got going I had to stay up to finish it and the chapters are short and snappy leaving you wanting more.
The writing was done well and you really get a feel for the eerie atmosphere, adding a touch of horror to the novel. This is one I will be recommending to those who enjoy suspenseful, entertaining, fast paced thrillers. I could see this being made into a film. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

This was great fun, and a good health and safety lecture on not driving in the fog!! Although I guessed the major plot twists, I still stayed up way too late to find out how the author revealed them and also what happened to everyone.
Thank you to netgalley and Pan macmillan for an advance copy of this book

Have read several books by this author before - and this one doesn't disappoint either!
Just when you think you know what is going on, you are proved wrong and sent on another course. You decide you know what is happening and it changes again. Twists and turns galore and had my heart thumping.
Now I know why we never pick up hitchhikers!!!
One star off for the convenience of the ending!
Many thanks to Netgalley/C.M. Ewan/Pan Macmillan for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was a fast paced read filled with lots of action. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters were believable. I won't be picking up anyone at the side of the road anytime soon!!!!! The suspense built up very quickly in the middle of the story and it didn’t let up until the book had finished.
A really good read and highly recommended if you enjoy a good thriller.

"One Wrong Turn" by C. M. Ewan is a gripping thriller that kept me up late, eager to find out more. The story follows Abi and Ben, whose kind act of picking up a stranded family on a foggy night spirals into a tense and nerve-wracking situation. I've really enjoyed the twists, they were rather good, especially after some recent reads with predictable turns. The buildup of tension was really good too, making me genuinely feel the protagonist's agony and stress. Sometimes, one wrong turn can have massive consequences. A very engaging and enjoyable read!

With many thanks to Netgalley for this free arc and I am leaving this unbiased review voluntarily
Sit down, buckle up and get ready for an absolute thrill seeking ride! The author does an exceptional job of creating the tension and the intense atmosphere that make you want to keep turning every glorious page. No chapter is wasted and every one leaves you wanting just one more. Great characters with some unexpected twists thrown in. My second book by this author and I continue to be enthralled by him. A highly recommend 5⭐️ read

This was a fast paced read filled with action. It had a good storyline and the characters were believable. I really liked the way the story unfolded and at the end of each chapter there was a bit of a cliff hanger which made me want to read a little bit more. The suspense built up very quickly in the middle of the story and it didn’t let up until the book had finished.
An excellent read and highly recommended if you enjoy a good thriller.

Impossible to put down, this fast-paced thriller races through a very short time period with an incredible sense of urgency.. Clever plot lines don’t immediately reveal the true characters as the story unfolds and with a realistic conclusion that isn’t all predictable.

Abi and Ben take a wrong turn and come across a couple with a baby who have broken down and need their help. The woman is injured and they agree to take the family to the hospital. But are these strangers really as vulnerable as they look?
This was a WILD ride! Fast paced, gripping and suspenseful, I could not stop turning those pages. I had to know what happened next. I could literally feel the fear through the pages and my heart was racing. I felt like this book wouldn’t let me release that breath I’d been holding!
An excellent read. I loved it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Panmacmillan for my advanced copy.

A brilliantly messed up book that will keep you hooked in from start to finish. There were so many twists and turns in this book that you can't see how it is going to end up!

OMG what a rollercoaster ride
If you have long nails you won't for much longer absolutely full on
Full of twists turns and tension
I read this book in a day while laid on a sunbed, didn't move just read, I couldn't put it down you just have no clue where it is going and which way it is going
Thank you C M EWAN Pan MacMillian and netgalley

Breath taking! I didn’t realise a rollercoaster could go this fast! The tension, fear and suspense began straight away and never let up! So much so I read right through, unable to put the book down!

This book was devoured over two train journeys.
what a rollercoaster of a read
The book begins with Abi and Ben, who are on their way home from a holiday cut short due to Ben’s job as a solicitor. The weather is bad and Abi takes a wrong turn, almost crashing into a couple who are need of desperate help. abi and Ben agree to give Samantha and Paul a lift back, but upon letting them in the car, everything starts going wrong!
the pace of the book was so fast, with short snappy chapters landing on cliffhangers, I just kept turning the pages as fast as I could. Heart in my mouth, so scared for Abi
There were parts of the book that were a little far fetched, but it just added to the tension and excitement of the book.
really enjoyed this!

If you’re after a fast paced and suspenseful psychological thriller which never lets up the pace, One Wrong Turn is a definite must read. I flew through this book, staying up well past my usual lights out time as I kept telling myself ‘one more chapter’!
Despite being told from different perspectives and two timelines, the story was easy to follow with well developed characters and lots of twists and turns. The tension was relentless. The only occasional eye roll from me came from Abi’s constant stomach lurching, heart clenching, skin crawling and ice down back feelings but I suppose there’s limited descriptions of absolute terror that you can put down in words!
Thank you to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the advanced copy of this book.

Having read from this author before, I knew what I was getting going into this one and boy it didn't disappoint! This was SUCH a fun read.
We jump right into the story from the very first page and I was invested straight away.
I found this to be a really tense, heart pounding read that was packed full of creepy, foreboding vibes.
The writing in this was great. I found that I couldn't put it down and I highly recommend you read this in one sitting.
I liked the characters and was fully invested in them and what would happen to them.
This is one of those books that you can easily see as a TV show or movie.
However one slight issue I had was the length of it. It did seem too long and because of that by the 70% in mark I was ready for it to all be wrapped up. It also felt to me that as it neared the end it did became slightly ridiculous and OTT and this did spoil my enjoyment a little bit.
But I did find it to be an enjoyable, fast paced thriller and I would read from this author again

Fast paced and frantic, I raced through this lip-biting thriller.
Ewan has the skills to produce just what a reader wants from an engaging, tense read; short chapters, relatable characters in danger, red herrings, twists and gradually ratcheting up the risk to fever pitch.
The plot and situation are not complicated and any reader could put themselves in the relatable situation of stopping for a driver whose car has broken down.

Great story. Twists and turns. Great characters.
Well worth reading.
Looking forward to more from C M Ewan

WOAHHHHHHHHHH this will make you rethink driving in the fog……and making sure,100% sure you take the RIGHT turn and not the WRONG one
Abi and Ben are driving home and they make a wrong turn and it’s not an exaggeration to say they tumble into chaos, not just a slight problem but a whole wrecker of a life change……the decision to stop and help people in distress is one that they will never forget…..the young couple and baby they pick up seem ‘off’,there is something not right…..I will let you discover what that is but it’s a shock and one that drives Ben and Abi to their limits
You can tell its a fast paced read re the above but honestly from the get go this book does not let up ,its scary, dynamic, scary, pounding with action, scary and a full on involving read, really good

I'm sorry to say - a very unbelievable story line. I read it all the way to the end but it was hard to believe in the characters and their actions. A little too far fetched for me I'm afraid

Some good trusts and turns, heart pounding action and thrilling mystery… I just didn’t care for the characters or find their actions totally believable…
