This is long, but the action never lets up and I really like how it used mixed media to tell the story. The format made me feel personally involved in the story. The story itself is epic, and the stakes are the whole world. People's powers and abilities were interesting, and there were some phrases that made me feel like the writer is well-versed in modern sci fi. There were a couple of pictures, too, that I really liked. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this. There's obviously going to be a sequel, and I'm interested to see where it goes.
"Magenta Skies" is a lovely, heartwarming story that will definitely tug at your heartstrings. It's a beautifully written tale of love, hope, and second chances that will stay with you long after you've finished reading.
Happy reading!
Overall I loved the Magenta Skies and would definitely recommend to sci-fi readers.
One of the most important aspects to a story for me, is immersion. I didn't feel immersed in this world, even though I enjoyed the story. The characters were well written and interesting, but I didn't connect with them or really feel many emotions towards/because of them. The writing style was great but all the different logs and reports and style of "chapters" felt really choppy to me, which is what I think broke the immersion for me. It didn't flow as well as I would've liked. Although, I totally understand why Manga wrote the book the way they did. I thought the book was a tad too long for the story and wish it was a bit shorter- maybe around 400 pages. It just dragged out a bit too much for the content.
All of that being said, the vibes were good and I did enjoy the book- which is honestly what matters most to me! I think it was a really cool story and I loved the story progression. I would recommend to my sci fi reader friends.
Magenta Skies is a gripping tale of darkness and redemption that kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. Set in a world teetering on the brink of chaos, the story follows a blind protagonist and a group of unlikely heroes as they confront a malevolent force threatening humanity. What I enjoyed most about this book was its intricate world-building and well-developed characters, each grappling with their own inner demons as they strive to protect society from impending doom. The themes of vengeance, sacrifice, and the power of redemption resonated deeply with me, making Magenta Skies a truly unforgettable read.
Buckle up, folks, because Magenta Skies is about to take you on a wild ride through a world of chaos, danger, and unexpected heroes! Picture this: society on the brink of collapse, a young blind man with a score to settle, and a ragtag group of misfits who couldn't care less about saving the day – sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? Wrong! This book is like a lightning bolt of excitement, crackling with suspense and packed with enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. And let me tell you, the characters in this book? They're so flawed, so complex, you won't be able to tear your eyes away from their thrilling journey. So if you're ready to dive headfirst into a world where the unexpected reigns supreme, grab a copy of Magenta Skies and hold on tight for the adventure of a lifetime!
