Really good romantic suspense with just enough of both to keep you flipping the pages.
Lindsey Barnes, a personal chef, is an emotional wreck after discovering her client's
husband's body in their kitchen and discovering the killer is still in the house. Being
forced to hide under the table while the killer walks around sets the tension rising.
Having survived a trauma just a couple of years previous, she is fragile and extremely
wary of being thrust into the midst of another tragedy, once again, as a witness.
When she recognizes the detective on the case, Jack Tucker,, the entire investigation takes a turn
and veers off into intrigue with romantic sparks.
Strong characters with solid definitions and a story line that moves right along.
Not my usual reading genre but thoroughly enjoyable.

This was the quickest that I have read a book in a long time. Be prepared to finish the book in one or two sittings. This thriller of a book sends the reader on ride full of suspense, mystery, and of course through a love story that will put a smile on your face. With a murder to solve, the reader will have fun trying to solve who did it. The twists and turns will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Another 5 star romantic suspense read from Irene Hannon! Though this is book 2 of the Undaunted Courage series, it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. We do get to catch up with Bri, the heroine in book 1 (as well as Cate from Labyrinth of Lies in the Triple Threat series), but their stories are not integral to the plot of this one, so you can enjoy this one on its own. Fans of the prior books will be glad to catch up with "old friends" again and see how they're faring, though. This is another book that hit the ground running and didn't let up. This book opens with Lindsey Barnes finding a dead body, and catching a glimpse of the murderer on their way out. When crazy things start happening to her, she begins to question not only her sanity, but if the things she is remembering are facts or not. Detective Jack Tucker is immediately drawn to Lindsey, both for her beauty and to figure out why she's so aloof towards him, but is hesitant to get involved with someone who seems to have some sort of psychosis due to his own tainted past.

This story had a good level of intensity. I wasn't jumpy while reading, but definitely needed to see what happens next and was up WAY too late on a worknight to finish this one because I just couldn't stop turning pages. There were lots of twists and turns. I did suspect the villain somewhat simply because I tend to suspect everyone. But the motives threw me for a loop! The characters were likable and relatable and even though I don't much care for the romance element of romantic suspense, I was cheering for Lindsey and Jack. Their character growth and development throughout the book was stellar as well. I appreciate good open communication between characters in a book and this author did that well with these characters. The faith thread in this one was a bit subtle, but it was hovering in the background and this was a completely clean read. All in all, this was a thoroughly enjoyable story and one I would easily recommend to fans of romantic suspense. Special thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Over the Edge is a page turner. I enjoyed the psychological twist Hannon wrote into the storyline. Lindsey Barnes has endured more than someone her age should, and now she's in the middle of a murder investigation. Jack Tucker is the detective on the case, who Lindsey immediately dislikes. This psychological suspense will keep you up turning pages to the very end. I received a free copy. Opinions are my own.

Irene Hannon's books are at the top of my list for suspense and this one does not disappoint. Lindsey and Jack work together to solve a series events that have Lindsey questioning her sanity. Lots of twists and turns and things I didn't see coming....for good and for bad. Thought about giving it four stars because there are too many coincidences for my liking, but in the end it was a very satisfying read and I highly recommend it.
This book was provided to me by the publisher but all opinions are my own.

This is a great read. Be prepared to hold your breathe as you turn the pages!
This is Jack’s story. Childhood trauma has to be dealt with but the remnants stay with you for life. I know from personal experience.
As always, the author leaves you guessing throughout the story trying to guess the bad guys.
If you like suspense, this read is for you!

Lindsey Barnes is trying to stay one step ahead of a trauma she experienced several years ago. She has moved to a new town and as become a personal chef. While doing this she witnesses a murder. Detective Jack Tucker is assigned the case. Lindsey didn't see the face of the person responsible for the murder. But that doesn't stop the murderer from trying to plant suggestions about her sanity. When that doesn't work, the next step is to eliminate her. Of course Jack and Lindsey start to have feelings for each other. Jack will do everything in his power to protect Lindsey and find the murder.

This was a fast paced book which I enjoyed reading. This book is the second in the Undaunted Courage series. It is not necessary to read the first book, Into the Fire, to understand this book.

I received this book from Revell Publishing vis NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Hannon’s latest romantic suspense provides well-developed and likable characters in Lyndsey and Jack (brother of Bri from Into the Fire). I enjoyed how their pasts were slowly revealed. Besides the main pair, I enjoyed rooting for Chad and Dara Allen, newlyweds under suspicion due to his presence at the scene and his past as a homeless vet with PTSD. Several plausible suspects, incidents that could be targeted at Lyndsay - or symptoms of mental stress - kept me turning pages and changing my mind about the killer. I look forward sister Cara’s story. This title can easily be an entry into the series. Recommended.

Wow, another read by Irene Hannon that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Poor Lindsey has had so much happen to her, and then you will think she is loosing her mind. Hostage, then witness, and then? But why?

Then we have Police Detective Jack Tucker, and learn a lot about what makes him tick, and then he seems to like Lindsey, but can he believe her?

I was kept guessing as to whom the suspects were almost to the end, and then was surprised!

I really can't imagine all that happens to Lindsey, nor would I want to experience it, but there is a bit of sweet romance in this story for her!

This was a page turner for me, I needed answers!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

This book is expertly written. The author weaves the plot so that the reader has many options from which to choose in deciding who the murderer was. You may think it is obvious that someone is trying to drive Lindsay mad and discredit her as a viable witness to a murder. But are they really? Irene Hannon leads you down a rabbit trail that makes you wonder. Plan to stay up late when you get to the 80% mark, because you won't want to put it down.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy. The opinions are my own.

Trauma survivor Lindsey Barnes hasn't fully recovered from the ordeal that almost took her life, and now she's in the middle of another crisis. Not only is she the sole witness in a high profile murder case, but someone is also pushing her to question her sanity. Police detective Jack Tucker doesn't know what to make of her story, especially when her elusive enemy leaves no evidence behind to lend credence to her claims. Yet the more he gets to know the appealing personal chef, the more he's convinced someone is targeting not only her sanity, but her life! Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and a few twists and turns. The story was interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Book 2 in the Undaunted Courage Series, Over the Edge, is a heart pounding thrill ride all the way through. Irene gets better and better with every story she writes. This is definitely at the top of the list for her best.

A personal chef, who is also a trauma survivor hangs on physically and mentally, as she and a police detective seek to find who is continuing to traumatize her.

Another fantastic read from Irene Hannon!! This book was a captivating read from the beginning. It has everything a romantic thriller needs for a five star read. Lindsey was a character full of strength and compassion and Jack was her perfect counterpart. She wasn't fully recovered from her first trauma ordeal and she walked right into a murder and she is the sole witness. On top of all that there's someone out there making her question her sanity. Police detective Jack Tucker is immediately taken by her but is stumped as to why she is so cold to him. He is starting to think maybe her mental health is compromised. Yet the more he gets to know the personal chef the more he realizes someone is targeting her. I love when a story totally stumps me and boy was I surprised!! I don't want to give away spoilers so I'm just going to say definitely read this book. With her signature style and her inspirational romantic suspense she definitely has written another awesome book in the series Undaunted Courage. This one is a great romance to boot. All her books have romance but this one just clicked for me. I want to thank Netgalley and Baker Publishing Group for allowing me a free copy for my honest review.

An entertaining page-turner with twists, turns and even a pivot or two that will keep you on your toes. Lindsey is a great character- full of strength and spark- with a compassionate heart. The story moves at a fast pace toward a happy ending with touching moments with friends and family interspersed throughout.

This book was a compelling, captivating read from the jump. It has all the things you are looking for from a thriller. It's number two in a series, but can definitely be enjoyed on its own. Lindsey and Jack were interesting characters and the mystery within this book was well plotted and paced. It'll make a great fall read if you want something that feels like a thriller without the scariness of a spooky book.

And unless they can figure out who is behind the campaign to undermine her credibility, a murderer could slip away--leaving more than one body in his or her wake.
With her signature spellbinding style, the bestselling and award-winning "queen of inspirational romantic suspense" (Library Journal) delivers another riveting tale that will keep you turning pages long into the night.

Over the Edge is the second book in the Undaunted Courage series but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone if you have not read the previous book.

Irene Hannon is a must-read author for me. Every time I pick up one of her suspense books, I know I am in for an exciting story that will keep me at the edge of my seat... and this was absolutely no exception. This particular story had a psychological aspect to it that I thought made it really interesting and unique. While there were a few things that I figured out (or at least suspected) earlier on, there were definitely other twists that completely took me by surprise... leaving me wondering what could possibly happen next. I love when a story surprises me like this! I can't say too much more without giving away spoilers, but this one is definitely one you'll want to experience for yourself. I found this to be the perfect blend of romance and suspense... I absolutely couldn't get enough of it. If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense, this is definitely one not to be missed.

I loved this book! It grabbed my attention from the first page and on to the end. I was guessing the whole way through and there was a twist at the end that I never saw coming. I highly recommend this book and all of Irene Hannon’s books. She is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors.

Over the Edge by Irene Hannon is a suspense novel that plays with the heroine's mind. The plot was a little slow going. About sixty percent into the novel, it picked up and became a much better suspense novel. The slow building of the romance between Jack, the hero and detective, and, Lindsey, the heroine felt right for the type of story that it was. I really liked the concept of the villain. I figured out who the bad person was pretty soon. No surprise for me there. As for the setting, it is a typical town with a murder running loose and the cops trying to solve the mystery. I did enjoy seeing Jack trying to solve the mystery. I do enjoy the concept of three foster siblings, and Hannon does a good job at showing their relationship in this novel too. Overall, Over the Edge by Irene Hannon does check off the lists of what a romantic suspense novel needs. A good read for someone who enjoys their suspense novels with a slight edge.

I received a complimentary copy of Over the Edge by Irene Hannon from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
