I love books written from the perspective of doctors and med students, so I was thrilled to get this ARC.

Pros: The story did move along well; I was always eager to keep reading and didn’t feel like it dragged. I liked reading about the hospitals and Disney, despite their incorrect descriptions.

Cons: I spent the first half of the book wondering if the author is a real doctor and the second half wondering if she’s ever actually spoken to a human man.
Putting aside reality for the sake of the story, there was still a lot that really didn’t come together for me. Certain revelations seemed thrown in at the end just for the sake of wrapping up the story that didn’t really make sense where they were. (E.g., the random disclosure of something that happened *that night* that Rafe was randomly sitting on for 10+ years for some reason??)

The main character felt really one dimensional. There wasn’t really any sense of character evolution beyond “I am ice queen because I’m alone, now I’m happy because man owns me.”

The title doesn’t really make much sense since the majority of the story was about well before the main character became a doctor, and no one was really paging her when she was (lol.)

All this said, I would give a lukewarm recommendation to read, especially with a small amount of proceeds being donated to lung cancer research, and I will definitely be reading more of Dr. Dymond’s books in the future.

I quite enjoyed the book. It was interesting to read. I loved the blooming relationship between Tiffany and Ethan. But I'd wished to get a bit more from Ethan and to get to know him a bit better. But overall a quite good book.

ARC Review:

Paging Dr. Hart is a exciting medical romance by Dr. Melissa Dymond. This book follows Dr. Tiffany Hart who is deemed the "Ice Queen" by fellow colleagues. Dr. Hart is a third year resident who is highly dedicated to her work. She avoids getting close to anyone and is only focused on being a successful doctor. Enter Dr. Ethan Clark, a total golden retriever energy MMC. He is funny, witty, handsome and gets under Tiffany's skin from day one. Ethan and Tiffany do not start off on the right foot and Tiffany highly dislikes him. Her feelings begin to change as she is forced to work closely with Ethan. Got to love a forced proximity trope! Ethan is super supportive of Tiffany. I loved seeing their relationship progress from unlikely friends to lovers. Ethan and Tiffany are a dynamic duo and compliment each other really well.

The romance is so sweet in this book and Ethan had me swooning! Not only is the romance amazing but the suspense surrounding Tiffany's past was great. We get flashbacks into Tiffany's past and how it related to her present. It kept me hooked from the beginning. This book is very well written and will keep you hooked from chapter 1. The characters were very likeable and the plot was interesting. I highly recommend this book if you want a sweet workplace romance with a touch of suspense and mystery!

Paging Dr. Hart is a feel good romance with a bit of mystery and drama peppered throughout. A classic enemies to lovers story where Dr. Hart comes to terms with her past trauma facing the monsters that haunted her past. The author Dr. Melissa Dymond leaves a few loose ends that could potentially be turned into future novels. I loved reading this story and would be happy to follow Dr. Hart or her colleagues in future stories.

In this reverse grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity, medical rom-com we meet Dr Tiffany Heart, a radiology resident who is not a people person! She prefers the company of her cat to socializing on most days!
It comes as no surprise that she is very annoyed when she is forced to share her workspace with a new resident who has transferred in from a different hospital.
To make matters worse, Dr Ethan Clark  is very good looking, very charming and a very social person who seems determined to break down all of Tiffany's barriers!

But this is a rom-com with suspense -  so when Tiffany starts receiving mysterious texts she fears her past life may be catching up with her and realises that having someone like Ethan in her corner might not be the worst thing!

What I loved:-
I requested this book for the romance but it was the story about Tiffany's childhood that made this book such a good read for me!
Ethan and Tiffany are a cute couple - they tick all the right boxes and the story arc gives you exactly what you expect!
But Dr. Tiffany is a very different person from who she used to be growing up! The younger Tiffany could be found hanging around the LA strip with her best friend and mixing with a very wrong crowd!
The last few chapters are full of suspense and although it gives us a temporarily satisfactory solution , it also leaves a lot of open ends!
I hope there is another book where we get more of that story!

What I wished were better:- I wish Ethan was a little less perfect! Compared to Tiffany, he ended up being rather forgettable!

Contemporary romance dual timelines with some spice. If you don't enjoy open door scenes look for the author's book with "sweet" instead of "spicy" in the description. Great writing! I enjoyed these characters and their relationships. Tiny pet peeve - the main lead kept calling her Tiffy even though she kept asking him to stop. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.

This book by Dr. Melissa Dymond was fantastic! Through the use of dual timelines, Dymond gives readers an amazing female main character and her journey from child to medical doctor, and all of the tumultuous decisions and life occurrences that got her to where she is in the present. As readers we experience not only the decisions that are made but how they effect Tiffany as an adult, and also how she learns to overcome them. The main male character, Ethan, is the 10/10 love interest that every woman needs! Handsome? Check. Smart? Check. Kind and compassionate. Check. Check. Protective? HUGE check. I will be thinking about their story for the unforeseeable future.

Besides for the amazing characters, some of the concepts that I loved most about this book was the action and suspense. When I first picked up this book I thought that the suspense was going to be involved in the hospital/medical setting. I was looking forward to it... but no Dymond takes readers out of the hospital and places us in a thrilling and suspenseful dark scenario that had me on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately, I am left with a few unanswered questions. I am hoping and praying that there will be a follow up novel that will address some of these questions that I am desperate to find the answers for.

I do have to admit that my absolute FAVORITE part of this book, is not found in the setting, characters, or storyline. But is from the authors Trigger Warning page and book dedication. Before reading a single line of this story I was met with the authors kind, understanding, and amazingly thoughtful nature. From this line alone, “Your mental health is more important to me than book sales,” proves to me that the world needs more authors (and people in general) like Dr. Melissa Dymond.

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to read and review this book as an ARC, and I look forward to what the author has coming in the future. Thank you Dr. Melissa Dymond and net galley!

Big thanks to Net Galley and Dr Melissa Dymond for approving me for this ARC!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I went into thinking this was going to be a work-place romance just based off the cover alone and wasn’t prepared for the level of depth this book had to offer. Short chapters made the story feel like it was moving quickly but not at a pace where I felt like I was missing layers of detail. It took me about 20% to really start getting into it, once I did, I finished the book in less than 4 hours.

I personally loved the time hopping and the way it was done in multiple chapters in a row. I was happy to have more layers to adult Tiffany and why her past was really detrimental to her adult life.

I was NOT expecting the mystery elements of her past (yes even with the title, I know). I feel like it could have gone a little darker for me, but I think I just love drama.

Also, Ethan 💕 I got golden retriever energy from him. I really did hate the nickname “Tiffy” every time he said it, I got annoyed. I wish there was a little more fire between them leading up to them getting together but overall it was cute once they did. Mild spice levels, I thought it was perfectly appropriate for the story and not overdone! I’ve also read the author is releasing a non-spice version which is cool, I know spice is not everyone’s favorite. (Mine though)

Side note as someone who visits Disney World weekly, Sleeping Beauty’s castle is in Disneyland not World.

Definitely worth a read when it comes out on June 17th!!

Paging Dr. Hart was a great read! It had a little bit of everything- romance, thriller, medical, mystery, and crime! This book was so well done I’m shocked it is only the author’s second book! I have literally no notes. Also, love that this was set in Ohio! I’m originally from Columbus.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for this ARC

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 Fun fact: I met my husband when we were both working at a hospital. He was a medical intern and I was the social work intern and we followed in the footsteps of many others who met working on the psych ward and went on to get married. Paging Dr. Hart is a fun and realistic medical romance novel, a delightful read! Dr. Tiffany Hart is a talented doctor with a tough past and secrets held close to her heart. When a new potential radiology resident comes for an interview, her residency is shaken up more than she could have imagined and she is not thrilled. Dr. Ethan Clark is honest, handsome, helpful, and really hard to stay mad at. Her residency track is not all that is thrown for a loop, she is receiving menacing text messages that she fears could blow up all that she has worked for. Could Ethan be the person who finally helps break down Tiffany’s walls? I absolutely adore the two of them and this book is not one to miss!

💌My thoughts: I went into this book expecting a cute medical romance and maybe a little twist in the character's past. But I was rewarded with such a great plot, great characters too. Tiffany is so relatable. Her "ice queen" label and how she comes out of her shell after her traumatic past was so heartwarming to read about. The book was a slow burn but as the timelines collided and the plot started making sense, i couldn't put it down! Ethan's character was well written too. How he's not always the "perfect" guy everyone expects him to be or the sunshine guy who's had everything he wanted due to his family legacy and how he tried so hard for Tiffy and his relationship to blossom. He's been so patient with Tiffany as she battled her own monsters and the little things he did for her omg🤧🤌❤️

The book has a dual timeline. One in the present where Tiffany and Ethan's story develops, and another in Tiffany's past, giving us glimpses of her struggles as a kid then revealing her monsters from her past that she tried so hard to bury. And the Taylor Swift references in the book were so exciting for me lol.🤭There's a little story about one of the characters which is still somewhat a mystery. I'm hoping we'll get to read about it soon!! 👀

This book is available in two versions, one having spicy scenes🌶️🌶️ (2/5 rating in my opinion) and the other version is clean with only a few kiss scenes. How cool is that!? You get to choose what you want to read!!

Also, Melissa is such a sweetheart!! She's been nothing but patient and how wonderfully she replied to all my random texts about the book scenes as I read it😂💗

Thanks to @netgalley and @melissadymondauthor for this amazing opportunity ❤️❤️

Releases June 17th 2024 📖🤍

“What have you done to me, Tiffy? I want to buy you flowers and chocolates in a heart-shaped box”

Dr Tiffany Hart has a troubling past that she keeps secret after years of betrayal and lies, that is until Dr Ethan Clark becomes someone she can rely on. What will happen when Tiffany’s past catches up to them? Will their relationship last after everything Tiffany has been hiding comes to the surface?

Thoughts 💭

I don’t even have words for what this book made me feel. I was flipping page after page racing to the end so I could figure out what Tiffany was hiding and boy, was she hiding a ton! I didn’t expect this book to turn into something so much darker! It felt like reading a thriller with a mix of romance and I loved it.

Tiffany’s character is so loveable from start to end. I was rooting for her and Ethan throughout the whole book! I feel like Ethan truly is someone she can trust after all the years of betrayal. I love that she now has someone she can confide in and not worry about judgment. All Ethan wants is for Tiffany to be happy and she honestly deserves that. He’s such a sweethart ;)

I loved loved loved getting a dual timeline and reading chapters from Tiffany’s past! It added so much to the story and I was so drawn into this one and figuring out what Tiffany did in the past that’s come back to haunt her. I absolutely love Rafe and I’m hoping if this becomes a series that he gets a little redemption arc because I want him to be happy after everything. I also think it would be cool to get a book in the series that shows Shelly and Rafes thoughts during the major scheme they pulled and what happened to them after!

I’ve loved this author since her first debut so I’m beyond excited that I had the opportunity to read this arc as well! If you haven’t read anything by Dr Melissa Dymond this is a great place to start. This book releases on June 17th so definitely go preorder it!!

I love it when I think I know what I'm about to read, and the story goes in a completely different direction. This book surprised me in the best way.
What I thought would be a lighthearted medical romance turned out to be full of high stakes drama.

The dual timelines almost read like 2 different books to me. They balanced each other out nicely, but I did find myself struggling to adjust mindsets. The past was dark and intense, while the present day was light and sweet. This was clearly intentional as the theme of light and dark, good vs evil was a commonly woven thread throughout.

Tiffany grew up well beneath the poverty line with a single mom.
She is forced to make difficult choices as a teenager. Desperation forces her to trust the wrong people to survive.
When she becomes a Dr. and is forced on assignment with a coworker, the past rears its ugly head and threatens to dismantle her future.

How much of our past selves bleeds into the future? Can we ever really escape the choices we make?

A dynamic and complicated story that is utterly captivating.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fast paced and it had a nice flow. Tiffany’s character was really well written, i loved the fact that we get the chance to look through her struggling past. I would love to know more about Ethan tho. The ending seemed a bit rushed and it was “all TOO well”, I knew it would have a happy ending, I just found the (let’s say to keep it spoiler free) “problem solving” really easy and not so realistic. All in all, I had a blast reading this book and I can’t wait to read more of Dr. Melissa’s work! 🌸🩵

In "Paging Dr. Hart" by Melissa Demond, we're taken on a journey through time, but the constant back-and-forth between past and present created a somewhat disjointed experience. While Dr. Hart's younger years were filled with depth, emotion, and suspense; her older self seemed to lack the same resonance. The hospital subplot felt like a detour from the main story. Overall, it's a decent read, but not something I'd rush to read again.

"the monsters aren't here. they aren't under this bed or in this closet. my monsters left me years ago, abandoned me. i miss them, even though i shouldn't. now, the only monster left is the one that lives under my own skin." ☁️☕️

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

ugh... this book!!! i'm so obsessed with it acutally. 🥹😭🫶🏼
a medical romance that dabbles into the mafia & dark romance genre??? sign me tf up!! this was such a amazing read with so many plot twists, so much depth and growth. i felt every emotion under the sun, not sure how i made it out at the end... the feeling of unfairness, hurt, grief, losing the people you love most, and repairing all the cracks they left behind afterward.

tiffany is an incredible character with so much depth and growth - the emotional abuse she had to go through, the choices she had to make, the unfairness she had to feel and endure for so many years... many times i felt the weight of her decisions and i ended up sobbing because it broke me if i've thought about it for too long... and ethan? my god, i love this man. he's the blueprint of a golden retriever man. the way he comforted her when she was losing control, when she was having nightmares every single night... how understanding and patient and nurturing and loving he was. his storyline of the "goody two-shoes" when all he ever wanted was to be loved for who he was, without comparison, without judgement. so well done. and mr. chen???? undoubtedly, my favorite character out of them all. the stereotypes and struggles that were depicted through his role in this book... i felt like choking. he truly is the sweetest human out there. i cried so many times when confronted with his and tiff's incredibly sweet and devastatingly sad moments. 💌🥺✨🫶🏼

that being said: please please PLEASE check the trigger warnings before jumping headfirst into this read. however, if you're loving the following tropes, this just might be for you! 💌☁️✨
• enemies to lovers
• he falls first & harder x touch her & you die
• reverse grumpy x sunshine
• mafia x medical romance
• no third act breakup & complex characters

“You’ve accepted me for who I am, all the good and all the bad. Now, let me do the same for you.”

Ahhhh!!! I love this book so much! It’s a mix of romance and suspense. It shows the Past and Present life of Tiffany which is the Female Main Character. This will take you to an emotional roller coaster ride. There are times I find myself almost crying, I also felt angry when Tiffany got betrayed and left behind by the people she trust but most of all I felt happy and in love when Ethan comes to life.

The spice of this book is also perfectly blended! Not too much but it’s there! So nothing to worry about if you’re a spicy romance reader or not, both party will enjoy reading this.

This is my first time to read a book from the author and I love love loveee it so much! I can talk about this all day.

I highly recommend this book if you’re into romance, medical setting, suspense, feel-good book, and if you’re a SWIFTIE!

Thank you so much for the Advance Reader Copy of this book I can’t wait to have my own physical copy of this book hoping it will be available in my country :)
