I did not finish this book unfortunately. I was unable to engage with the story despite liking the premise of the book.

This book once again showed me why I love romances and love stories so much. It also showed me that sometimes we really need to give people a second chance.
In this book we meet Stevie, a lover of romance novels who is about to start her dream job at a publishing house. What she doesn't expect is that when she meets her new boss, she runs into her ex-boyfriend, Noah, who broke her heart by leaving her for New York.
The title and synopsis don't really show how marvellous this book is. The writing is super fluid and very funny. You fall in love with the characters and create a connection with them that is hard to explain. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this book and it really surprised me!

"There was something about the moon and stars. They were fearless like we should be. We were so small, so insignificant, in comparison, but our problems always seemed as huge as the universe. The moon and stars didn’t worry. They were happy to just be."
This was a cute second chance romance. It's a very cute, easy read. Stevie was relatable, and I was hoping she'd get her happy ever after. Noah was the grumpy to Stevie's sunshine. Definitely recommend this to people who love second chance romance and grumpy x sunshine tropes.
I've not read anything by Victoria Walter's before, but I'm definitely interested in exploring what else she has written.
"One day, you’ll find that happy ever after you’ve been looking for like I did. And maybe that’s a person, maybe it’s a job or a place or a home – or all of the above – but you will find it.’"

Meet cute in a bookshop. Second chance love between exes Stevie and Noah. Now, Noah is Stevie’s new boss, what could go wrong? The publishing world is difficult enough!

This felt a little plodding and the characters were difficult to connect with. I kept waiting to fall in love, but sadly that didn't happen. I always like to preface my reviews (especially not very encouraging ones) with a note that I am a huge mood reader... so I'll try a book at different times to see if maybe it clicks but unfortunately this just never did click for me. However.... just because it didn't work for me, it might work for someone else.... but I want to swoon for my characters in a romance, or at least feel something for them other than disinterest. Please lnow, I am grateful for the opportunity to preview this one.

A great story featuring a second chance at love.
The title really draws you in, but you stay for the charm and the real people working through real problems to find their “happy ever after.” Stevie and Noah and their colleagues and friends become friends that you care about and cheer on through their challenges. Great read.

While this started off strong, it slowly lost me as the characters got 'closer' - the reminder that their breakup was heart-wrenching and terrible threw a damper on the whole energy, and then it's so horrible that the heroine is unable to stop herself from kissing the guy despite having just told him how horrible he was to her? Lost me there... And then the hero himself, who seemed clueless about the heartbreak he caused, but worse than this is how he seemed to completely blip over whatever the heroine was telling him about how he affected her, and he kept being insensitive about it, remembering the 'good ol' days' then taking her to their first-meet bookstore, then sometimes even seeming like he is gaslighting her for her experiences... It just didn't feel 'worthy hero' material to me, and the story lost me the more it went on this way.
Had tons of potential, and I wanted to read about the sub-plot of the vampire romance they're promoting more than their actual romance, sadly.

This is an absolutely adorable story that had me engaged from start to finish. Ms Walters has crafted a wonderfully cute, second chance love story filled with witty banter, swoon-worthy moments and heartfelt scenes that will tug at your heartstrings.
Stevie has finally landed her dream job, but her boss is her ex-boyfriend, Noah. Neither really got over each other, and now they are forced to work together while dealing with their lingering feelings.
The plot is lighthearted yet clever, with just the right mix of romance and emotion.
If you're looking for a feel-good, heartwarming romance, you should try this one. It's the perfect escape, and I found myself smiling long after turning the final page.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley
and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I loved how this book started by showing how the two main characters met, which was so cute, before fast forwarding to 5 years later.
I enjoyed the plot so much, and I loved that both their jobs related to books, as it made the characters feel so much more relatable.
Noah was such a great MMC, and I found myself falling in love with him through his words and actions towards Stevie.
I loved Stevie and everything she stood for and believed in. She was a strong FMC, and I love reading books where the female is like this.
The messages surrounding the stereotypes of romance books and their readers was so powerful, and I feel that more people need to read this book just for that message.
Overall, and extremely well done romance book!

This book was very cute! Great second chance romance, great pacing, and great slow burn. The premise had me hooked. The meet-cute was to die for and I loved Noah and Stevie’s chemistry!

Plot Twist is the ideal romance read for booklovers. Stevie has just left a librarian job that she loved for her dream job in publishing, but finds half the staff have been dismissed on her first day due to a takeover. Her new boss is...her ex, the one who got away and shattered her heart. An emotional rollercoaster with lots of fun, plus lots of sexual tension and a little spice. There is the added bonus of an amazing bookstore and a the team trying to publicise a steamy new romance. Dream job for Stevie, dream read for a booklover. #theplottwist #Victoriawalters #netgalley #boldwoodbooks

I absolutely adored this book and loved the storyline and all the characters- an absolutely amazing read especially for the colder autumnal months. Will definitely be reading more by this author

Another enjoyable read by Victoria, the characters were fun and engaging, this being the perfect beach/ poolside read. Recommended.

I really enjoyed this book, and it’s better when books have books in the story.
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for my book

“The world would be a better place if everyone read romance.” What a wonderful quote for a reader! Stevie lands her dream job at a publisher only to find her new boss, Noah, is the “one that got away” a couple years back. Their second chance at romance was really sweet but I really enjoyed getting the inside scoop of the hard work and stress that goes into the promotion of a new release from an established author by a publishing company. Such a cool plot line for a romance novel.
4.25 stars

Such an excellent read. I devoured this in one sitting and it was just brilliant. The chemistry between the main characters was thrilling. Well worth picking up!

This is one of those books which romance readers will appreciate. Set in the publishing industry, it follows Stevie as she takes on the challenge of getting a certain romance story into the bestseller list, despite the indifference of her new colleagues and a lot of prejudice against the genre. Overlooked by many as irrelevant, it is up to Stevie to breathe life into the publishing campaign and prove everyone wrong. A huge complication has to be the appearance of her new boss who happens to be the man who broke her heart. I particularly enjoyed the reference to the difference story tropes which you find in the romance genre. This is a fun read and one for tose who are knowledgeable about the genre.
Of course, you do have to take as read that Stevie can head up this publicity campaign despite her complete lack of experience in the publishing world. Noah is a man with a past and it take a lot of patience to wait for Stevie to decipher just why he left her all those years ago. Family ties are important but so are friendships, both old and new. This is an entertaining book for readers to enjoy.
In short: second chances and taking a ris

This was a fun romance but nothing special to be honest. I enjoyed my time with it but I know it's a book I won't think about again

Quick Summary: An utterly delightful second chance romance
My Review: The Plot Twist by Victoria Walters is a standalone women's fiction romance novel. It was released in June 2024.
Question to Consider: Is it possible to recover from heartbreak and rewrite a love story between soul mates who never thought they would get their second chance?
About the Book: Stevie Phillips and Noah Anderson had once shared a meet cute to beat all meet cutes. It led to a beautiful love. Unfortunately, a familial tragedy caused them to part. It proved to be a devastating blow to both. When a new work assignment unexpectedly leads to them crossing paths, neither really knows how to maneuver. Will they get the closure they need, or will they be able to rekindle what they once had?
My Final Say: This novel brought a happy smile to my face. I adored it. It was so well written. From an emotional standpoint, I could appreciate the depth of feelings that Stevie, Noah, and Noah's dad experienced. This has easily earned a special place on my favorites shelf.
Other: Readers who enjoy second chance stories, stories about bravely moving forward post tragedy, and stories with meaningful emotional arcs will really like this book.
