I've read several Victoria Walters books and have loved each one.
The Plot Twist is based on books, the publishing industry, and bookshops, with books at the heart—what more would a bookworm like me want?
Stevie Phillips is nervous about starting a new job. It's the job of her dreams in an established publishing house. When she gets there, she finds most of the staff are leaving due to a takeover and immediate redundancies, and, horror of horrors, her new boss turns out to be Noah Anderson, her ex!
She's faced with a conundrum: leave the job she so desperately wanted or stick it out and deal with the 'uncomfortable-ex' situation.
Chuck in an author described as a diva who Stevie adored growing up, a romance-hating colleague, and the EX, and Stevie has her work cut out.
I was hooked from the off.
I read this in a few hours, as I could not put it down!
Stevie is a fantastic character with passion. Her stance on #RespectRomFic is highlighted throughout the book. Where would we be without romances? How she gathers the troops to stand against those trashing her favourite genre is fabulous. I would have attended that protest if I could!
The simmering chemistry between her and Noah is HOT, too! Maybe don't read this when you have people around. You may find yourself a little flustered during certain scenes, lol!
It was great to get a little update on Liv and Aiden, characters we were introduced to in Walters' previous release, The Love Interest. But don't worry—this is a stand-alone book, though I love it when stories interlink in some way.
Loved it!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

As a self proclaimed hopeless romantic who also loves spending my free time devouring romance books, I loved this one and this book is every bit of what a romance book lover could ask for! From the second chance romance, the funny banters, to the swoon worthy moments, and to the lovable and amazing FMC and a romance book reader MMC *MAJOR SWOOON*, I absolutely enjoyed reading this!! Such a swoony, funny, and light read! I also loved how the chapters weren't that long. I loved that it highlighted how some people look down on romance books as a whole and how it's important to just let other people enjoy what genre they love to read!

Ever since I've finished The Love Interest also by Victoria Walters, I've been looking forward for Stevie's story and I'm so glad I enjoyed it! Stevie is such a QUEEN, a genius, and a rockstar! I just love her passion and dedication for her work, especially when defending romance as a genre! Stevie's dream of working in a publishing company is finally happening but the catch is, her new boss is her ex who left her five years ago. I was so invested on how things will turn out and I'm telling you I love how it was a journey filled with forgiveness, reflection from the past, and of course my favorite - swoon moments! Noah has a way with his words and I think every romance book lover deserves someone who can support their love for romance books (like going as far as reading your favorite books 🤩) the way Noah supports Stevie. I just love these two together! 🫶 This book is a warm hug for every romance book lovers out there!

Thank you so much @netgalley, Niamh Wallace, and Victoria Walters for this ARC! I'm humbled and grateful to be selected as one of the lucky readers chosen for this limited-approved ARC in exchange for my honest review! 💛

This was my first netgalley book and it was absolutely adorable! I fell in love with Stevie’s character immediately. She is extremely relatable, outspoken and fun. I liked that she was vulnerable but also she stood up for herself and her beliefs. Stevie and Noah have a great relationship and I liked how it wasn't written as the perfect cookie cutter relationship. They had real issues and struggles and the story was written very well. I was completely entranced and could not put it down. I am excited to read mor from this author!

Talk about a plot twist....

The ex that broke my heart 5 years ago, is the new boss of my dream job🙃😳.

This is one of the best romances I've read this year and if you are craving one #ThePlotTwist is it for you coz:
Workplace Romance 💃🏻🔥
Second Chance Romance 🥰
Ex-boyfriend / My Boss 🙈
Bookish FC&MC 📚🤤
He reads Romance 💋
Grumpy X Sunshine 🌞🌑
SWOON😌
Short &Faced-paced chapters 😉

Let me give a glimpse into the story:
After working in the library for quite some time, Stevie is ready for her new job the one she's been dreaming about for years to work in a publishing company.
What was supposed to be an amazing start turned out to be a complete disaster 😱.
1:The Publishing company has been bought by an American firm and they're restructuring.
2: They have 6 months to show improvement or it will shut down.
3: The New Boss is My Ex-boyfriend Noah 🤫
And to make matters difficult we will be working side by side on a romance book campaign.
Can it get any worse!!!! Or BETTER actually??? 😉😉😉😉

LOVED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF THIS BOOK❤️❤️❤️
A masterpiece and a great dedication to romance the importance of this genre and how amazing romance books are.
Noah& Stevie's Chemistry was off the chart🔥🔥🔥
The development of the characters was written perfectly.
Loved that it took place in Autumn and my favourite city in the world London.
All the talk about books and romance had me smiling all the time.
I cannot recommend it enough, please pre-order, you will love it.

Thanks to @netgalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of #ThePlotTwist in exchange for my honest review.

Xoxo💋

Victoria Walters did it again! Another second chance romance that I loved!

We meet Stevie who is changing her life and pursued her dream job in publishing. She walks into her boss's office on her first day and see's that it's her ex-boyfriend who dumped her 5 years prior. He was the "one who got away".

Noah is a lost soul who is under immense pressure from his father to make the publishing company a success. His life derails more when he realizes that Stevie is cold towards him and doesn't want to talk about their past.

When a "has been" romance author has a new book coming out, Stevie is bound and determined to make it a huge success, despite what everybody else thinks. During this campaign, Noah is her direct supervisor and college during the publishing process. As they work together they get closer and closer and remember what they meant to each other.

I truly loved this book and read it in 2 days! I really loved Noah and his growth during the book. His struggles with his family and his relationships with others really resonated with me.

This was such a good, light hearted easy read. I really liked Stevie and Noah, the publishing side was great to read and seeing what went on to achieve a bestseller.

Noah, oh Noah, so swoonworthy and romantic in the end.
Their story was romantic and I loved how it all unfolded and developed.

I loved everything about this book! Victoria, you did an incredible job with this story. I truly fell in love with Stevie and Noah. I loved how they communicated with each other although Stevie tried so hard in the beginning to not revisit their past. I’m glad she decided to listen or more specifically read what Noah had to say during their 5 years apart. This Love (Taylor’s Version) was the best choice for Stevie and Noah’s relationship. I enjoyed reading how supportive Noah was of Stevie’s ideas for Deb’s book publicity and launch. I also loved how Stevie helped Noah figure out a way to communicate with his dad so that they could understand each other after the grief changed them. I liked all the friends and can’t wait for Liv and Aidens book.

This was a great read. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters. Noah was such a great book boyfriend. I loved that both him and Stevie were secretly feeling the same for each other and saw each other as their biggest love. Stevie is a really likable character who is very relatable. I enjoyed her journey to make her place at her job even with so much pressure being put on her. I love we get Liv and Aiden from The love interest in this story! It was great to see what they were up too. The love Noah and Stevie share is so cute and hopeful. I was so excited when Noah shared his emails with her and we got to see the love he carried for her. I liked that I wasn’t wishing I had his POV. I feel in a lot of second chance situations many haven’t been fulfilling enough with just one side. However, this one just having Stevie’s pov was enough. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good second chance at love story with swoon worthy love confessions. This is definitely the book for you!

I really enjoyed reading this book. While, it was predictable at times, the characters had depth and there was an enjoyable plot. It was nice that it was a sequel and we got to hear more about the characters from the previous book and we got to hear more about Stevie’s backstory. She is a very likable character. Overall, I definitely recommend reading it. Appreciated the overt commentary on the importance of romance novels, too!

Stevie Phillips has always wanted to work in publishing. A long-time book lover, she finally gets her dream job at Turn the Pages publishing only to find out on her first day that the place has been bought out and many of them are out of jobs. Stevie is in for another terrible twist when she finds out that her new boss is none other than Noah Anderson, the man who left her 5 years ago with a broken heart.

Stevie's first job is to promote the new release of an old romance author's latest release. However, the author is upset with how her books have been marketed in the past and decided to leave the publisher unless she gets on the NY Times Bestseller list. Stevie has her work cut out for her and her ex boyfriend/current manager is partnering with her. Stevie and Noah start to realize that maybe neither of them were over each other. Will they be able to try again?

Plot Twist was a fun second chance romance that caters to romance book lovers. The characters were imperfect and came with a lot of baggage from their previous relationship. Exploring their chemistry and undeniable pull towards each other while still looking back at the heart break and betrayal make this a wonderful romance. As you begin to learn what happened in the past, you begin to see what both of them have gone through. The friendships and side characters are fun although fairly one dementional. I thought this was a fun read perfect for booklovers especially thise who live romance and hate that it is looked down upon.

I really enjoyed Liv and Aiden’s story, but this one was harder for me to invest in. The writing was redundant with constant, unnecessary reminders of the conflict, and the characters. It felt very much like telling, rather than showing.

I adore this author and her creativity. I’ll not be posting my review anywhere else.

Let me start by saying this author is genius and I absolutely loved the previous book, The Love Interest.

However, this one fell short for me. (SPOILERS AHEAD).

So, Noah and Stevie were in love - soulmate, The One, love of my life type of love. Then Noah suddenly leaves for America with no reason and breaks Stevie's heart. Fast forward 5 years and Noah is Stevie's new boss, nicknamed The Shark, at Stevie's brand new job at a publisher. Turns out that Noah has never stopped loving Stevie and even wrote her emails over the last 5 years. My issue? Noah left because his mom was sick and he needed to be there with her. Now, they'd been together for a year at that point and Stevie knew NOTHING about his parents. His reasons for not telling her about them seemed flimsy at best and, in my opinion, if you've been with someone for a year, you'd just say "oh hey, my mom is sick, I need to go be with her" and generally the answer would probably be "of course you do, want me to come with?" But not Noah. Noah just breaks Stevie's heart, without giving her a reason, and leaves.

My greatest book pet peeve is when things could have been solved with one simple conversation. And because of this, I just couldn't get behind Noah. I didn't feel the supposed great love between him and Stevie.

There were things about this book that I liked, mainly the side characters and a chance to see Liv and Aiden as a couple but overall I didn't love it.

As I have read this author before and know the greatness that she can create, I would absolutely read one of her books again but this one wasn't the one for me.

Tropes:
• Second chance romance
• Colleagues
• Enemies to lovers (if you squint)
• Book nerds

The Plot Twist by Victoria Walters is a book written as a continuation of her other book, The Love Interest. The main characters of this book are Noah and Stevie, who were a couple six years ago but things didn't work out well as Noah suddenly left without any explanation, leaving Stevie devastated. Stevie decided to leave the dating scene and bury herself in her work, where they used to work with her friend Liv in a university library. But then, later on, she decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a publisher, and to her surprise, her boss turned out to be none other than her ex-boyfriend Noah. This makes her confused as to whether her decision to pursue her dreams would be possible with this turn of events. She realizes that she has some serious decisions to make, whether to return to where she came from or follow her dreams, given this twist of fate.

I like the humor in the book, especially in the first part, like on page 37. "conscious that I was in public and my mascara had run, making me resemble a panda." and page 40. "He leaned in to whisper then, "Please tell me you brought food; your mother is making chili, and I swear I saw her put apples in it ". Readers will find more of this in this book. I also like the consistency in the book; it has no gaps and no hanging ends, especially between one chapter and the next. The story is also very captivating.

I wish the sense of humor went further to the end of the book because, as the book became a bit more serious, the sense of humor diminished a bit; perhaps that was brought about by the series of events that followed. Nonetheless, that does not make the book less fascinating.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for these reasons.

I recommend the book plot twist by Victoria Walters to those who love romance books with a sense of humor. I also recommend it to those who have read a copy of The Love Interest by the same author. It will do the readers good to understand the characters well, as they will find that it is like a continuation of that equally interesting book. This book can be an eye-opener in real life, showing that not all that is seen on the outside is what it actually is and that those who hurt you may be hurting themselves more than you can imagine. So kindness is the key.

For lovers of a second-chance romance trope, this book is ideal. It's also a really sweet book, especially if you're a bookworm yourself because you can really empathise with the main character on her journey into publishing and getting romance books the recognition they deserve. The emails that Noah sent her while he was away that she never saw are so beautifully concocted that I kind of wished I'd received something like that at one point in my life.

I really enjoyed this book and whizzed through it, getting attached to the characters and their life events, emotions and feelings.

Stevie and Noah have the perfect meet cute. Their relationship seems to be going perfectly until Noah decides to move away. 5 years later, Stevie meets Noah in an unexpected work environment and try to figure out how to navigate their “friendship” moving forward.

I really enjoyed the banter of this book. The characters were very lovable and I enjoyed rooting for them throughout the book! I’m a Victoria Walter’s fan. Be sure to check out her other book, The Love Interest too.

In The Plot Twist we find Stevie again, Liv's co-worker from the The Love Interest. She managed to finally get hired in her dream job. Except, on her very first day, she finds that most of the staff at the company is being fired after the company being taken over. And her boss now is no other than her ex boyfriend, Noah, who broke up with her five years before, and consequently breaking her heart when he moved to America.
Stevie is forced to face her past, having to work closely with Noah. To go over every painful moment after he left. Will she be able to understand once and for all why he left? Will she understand him, for his choices? Maybe things were not exacly as she had thought they were...

Victoria Walters has my heart! She is able to address emotions like no others. The way she deals with the pain of seeing the only person you've loved after so many years and the flood of emotion and self-doubt that accompany it, is so sweet and delicate.
This second chance romance is so sweet and painful at the same time, you'll end up feeling the same grief as Stevie's, being scared whether to give Noah the second chance he's been fighting for. Does he deserve it? Did he really love her in the first place? Will she be able to forgive him after five years when she barely managed to forget him?

You'll need to read this little gem when it comes out - on June 19th - to get the answers to these questions. Plus we'll get Liv and Aiden's cameo in it, and you won't regret it!

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for early access to read The Plot Twist By Victoria Walters in exchange for an honest review.

A second chance romance where Stevie and Noah meet again after five years of not seeing or speaking to each other. Noah is now Stevie's boss and she's forced to work in close proximity with him after Noah left her to move to New York without any real explanation. Now, they're trying to get Deborah Day's new novel onto the bestseller's list before she drops them as her publishing company. As time goes on, Stevie realizes that she never stopped loving Noah and that Noah never stopped loving her. As they work through their past and work towards they're future, they're able to put romance back into the bestseller's chart!

This book was so cute! "From meet-cute to happy ever after" is 100% correct. There's nothing I would love more than for someone to buy a bookstore just because we happened to meet there. Understandably, I'm fully married and we didn't meet at a bookstore, but a girl can dream! I think Stevie and Noah's characters complemented each other well & the supporting characters added just enough to the story to where it didn't seem one dimensional (which I'm finding very common nowadays).

A sweet but spicy second chance romance. On her first day at her dream job at a publisher, Stevie is shocked to discover not only has the company retrenched most of the staff, but her new boss is none other than her ex-boyfriend Noah who left her to move to New York suddenly five years ago. Stevie finds herself forced to work with Noah to turn the company's fortunes by making a much loved but forgotten romance author a best seller.

I breezed right though this book. I loved that Victoria Walters demonstrated Stevie's skills and talent with her publicity campaign (such a clever idea too!). Noah and Stevie were such a gorgeous pair and now I want to go back and read the book before this one featuring Stevie's best friends's story.

Thanks to Boldwood and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was such a fun read, albeit a bit meta. This book is a romance book meant to celebrate romance novels. It addresses the lack of respect for the genre and gives us a swoon-worthy story. Thank you to netgalley for this advanced copy! My one issue was sometimes the writing felt unedited. I did notice a few grammatical errors throughout and some dialogue just felt rushed. Overall, very enjoyable though!

Such a well written plot. I could not put the book down once I began reading it. I cannot wait for it to be released. It will be a perfect summer read.
