I’m not usually the biggest fan of second chance romances but have this a try because I liked the Love Interest. This book was pleasantly surprising and I was so excited to see more of Stevie’s dream job journey!! I loved Noah and Stevie as a couple, but also really enjoyed them separately. This book had second chance romance, workplace romance, and grumpy x sunshine tropes, all of which were done well! I feel like there were some parts that were repeated but overall the plot was fun and super entertaining. I think this is an amazing contemporary romance.

I really enjoyed this book, it was well paced with fun characters. I did feel like some of the conflicts were brushed under the rug a bit and resolved way too quickly, but overall it was still a fun read!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange of an honest review.
I was SO excited to read this book. The romance sounded absolutely adorable as it was a combination of second chance, workplace romance, and a publishing setting. Unfortunately I felt as thought this novel fell short on all counts.
I love second chance romances because the two love interests tend to know each other very well and already have some sort of connection. I struggled with that throughout this book because the only connection I could feel was that they were both upset about the breakup. Seriously. Nearly EVERY paragraph we are reminded that he broke up with her HORRIBLY. This breakup sounded as though it traumatized our FMC for life and she is unable to think of anything else.
I also struggled because the characterization of our love interests felt incredibly weak. Both of them were somewhat floppy where in one scene they’d be weak and the next they’d be strong and everywhere in between. To preface, I LOVE when characters are strong to the world but open up for just each other. That was not the case here however. It felt like our narrator couldn’t decide on how she wanted to portray the characters. I also think a part of this is that the entire is a tell, not show story. At no point was I immersed in the book because I was told everything and never shown a single scene which completely disconnected me from the writing.
I loved that this book tried to tackle the issue of romance novels being looked down upon and the struggle of romances in the publishing industry (1 of my stars is for that). Again, the execution felt lacking here. There was SO MUCH telling that it felt like a lecture over a story.
Another star is for the emails. I won’t go in depth for spoiler reasons, but the emails themselves were five stars as they had the most entertaining writing in the whole book for me.
A final star for the cover because it is just so cute.
As this is an ARC I hope that most of my issues will be resolved with editing before actual publication.

Victoria Walter is now an auto-buy author for me!
This one is so good! I don't know how else to describe it then swoony. It made me cry happy tears. GO READ IT!
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I Absolutly fell in love with this book and I wasn’t even expecting to!! I couldn’t put this book down and it hooked me in from then very beginning. I love a good office/workplace romance and you adding second chance into the mix!!! I loved this book and highly recommend!!

Cute rom com, nothing super different it doesn't need to be super different though. I did enjoy the characters and live the connection to the written word

“The plot twist” is a second chance, extremely slow burn, very sweet office romance between Stevie and Noah.
I liked this book a lot. I liked that we have a glass-wearing hero, strong London autumn vibes, a publishing house and a bookshop.
I loooooved the e-mails! So emotional!! And their meet-cute is so cool!
The pace was good overall, apart from some repetitions, and I guess I just wish for a little bit of agony. Also, I’m not sure we ever learned what ages our heroes have, and this is something that bothers me in books.
Again, it’s a pity we don’t get even a couple of chapters from Noah’s POV.
The characters from “The love interest” show up but it’s definitely not necessary to have read that book before this one (although I suggest you do it because it’s a nice book as well).
I received an advance review copy for free via NetGalley & Boldwood Books, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
-Single 1st person POV (FMC)
-Spice: 1.5/5 🌶️
Overall: 4.25/5 ⭐️ for me.

Loved it!
Content-I skipped door scenes, but they were easy to skip and I didn’t feel like I missed anything critical to the story.
Favorite things:
-the romance rally
-the meet cute
-the epilogue
-the emails

Swoon to this second chance romance, bookish themed, love mystery.
From the most adorable meet cute to an awwww inducing epilogue this book is a rollercoaster of emotions. FMC Stevie lands her dream job in publishing only to find that the company has been taken over by her ex, the one who shattered her heart when he left.
As the story unfolds you hear more about Stevie and Noah’s back story and come to understand the mystery behind their breakup. I also loved the publishing story which ran alongside the romance around the launch of a campaign for a book Stevie believes in but to which the rest of the company are indifferent. Give me all the books about books please!
The side characters are adorable and hilarious. The inject so much fun and laughter into the book.
There is some spice, I definitely prefer my romance closed door, and toward the end I did find Stevie and Noahs dialogue a bit repetitive around some miscommunication but overall, I did not want to put this one down!

The Plot Twist is a fun rom-com, with many of the much loved romance tropes: it's a forced proximity/second chance/office romance. about Stevie and her former flame Noah. They spent a year in what she thought was bliss until he unexpectedly left for a job in New York City, leaving London, and Stevie, behind. Imagine her surprise (and readers' delight) when she turns up for her first day at a new job she has been dreaming of for years, only to discover that Noah is not only back in London, he is now her new boss.
Anger, confusion, and longing form a confusing mix for Stevie to wade through as she works to learn the ropes at her new job, stay out of Noah's way as much as possible, and form friendships with her new coworkers that she hopes will not learn of her past with the new boss (whom they all refer to as "The Shark" behind his back. As she and Noah spend more and more time working together, she starts to learn surprising things about the man she thought she knew so well.
This book is very well-written, and the plot is fun and well paced. Stevie is a strong female main character that is easy to root for. This is a great book for new to contemporary romance fans, or old hands at the genre who don't mind knowing how things will end well before the story reaches its final conclusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Victoria Walters has done it again.
With this novel she has established herself as one of my favorite romance authors. Not only does she write romance so beautifully but cares about the characters inner problems. I love what she did with Noah and Stevie, they had depth, they had dreams, ambitions and regrets. I also adored the ending, I thought it was a perfect second beginning!!
This book had me hooked in from the first page and read it in one sitting.
I was so happy to have received an ARC of this book even if I hadn't request it yet. Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book. 💗

🎉 Oh my stars, I'm absolutely head over heels for this book! From the moment I cracked it open and dove into the first chapter, I was hooked tighter than a fish on a line. 📖 I mean, seriously, I couldn't tear myself away!
This gem of a read delves deep into the intricate web of relationships, showing us how people can be misunderstood or misjudged, painting a picture that's not always true to who they really are.
And let me tell you about the mystery surrounding Stevie and Noah's breakup! 🔍 It's like a tantalizing puzzle that just begs to be solved. I found myself flipping through the pages, desperate to uncover the truth. But hey, not all heartaches can be neatly patched up, can they?
The writing style? Pure magic! ✨ Victoria Walters has woven together words in such a sublime way that I can't help but sing its praises. Seriously, if you only pick up one book this year, make it this one!
And can we talk about Victoria's other books? 📚 I'm itching to dive into more of her work! If you're in the market for a second chance at love kind of read, look no further, because "The Plot Twist" has got you covered!
Now, let's talk about the juicy plot! 🍑 This book is like an emotional rollercoaster of exes-turned-coworkers-turned-lovers, with just the right amount of heartache and healing thrown in. Stevie Phillips lands her dream job only to find out her ex, Noah, is her new boss. Talk about awkward! But Stevie's not one to let negativity hold her back. With her metaphorical big girl panties on, she dives headfirst into her work, determined to succeed despite Noah's chilly exterior. But as they spend more time together, old wounds resurface, and Stevie learns that maybe Noah's departure wasn't as cut and dry as she thought. Can they mend what's broken, or are some scars just too deep to heal?

I loved the beginning of this book. Adorable book-lover vibes and, and surprise, your ex is your boss? This is gonna get juicy! Overall, it was a cute book, but all felt a little too easy (and cheesy). If you’re looking for a relaxing romance sprinkled with some spice, check this out. If you want to be hanging on every word, maybe look elsewhere.

After reading The Love Interest, I was excited to read Stevie's story. This is a second chance romance and you did root for the characters. I only gave it 4 stars because I feel like it got a little repetitive near the end. Noah left his love behind without giving her the full story of why he was leaving first. He had quite a bit to work through. I wish it was a dual POV to fully experience his side, although the emails helped. Stevie was right that they needed to go through what they did to get where they were. The glimpse of Aidan and Liv were great too, although, I wouldn't have minded some more of them sprinkled in. The Deborah and Ed portions were fun too. Another fun read from Victoria Walters.
I was provided the ARC for this book and I am providing my unbiased review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read an ARC of The Plot Twist by Victoria Walters.
This book follows Stevie, who is starting a new job in publicity at a publishing company. When she arrives on her first day, she learns that her new boss is her ex boyfriend. Thrown together by fate, and forced to work in close proximity, they find themselves confronted by the reasons they broke up, and all the things that they left unsaid (and unsent) at the time.
I loved this book, and the proof of that is me devouring it in a single sitting. This was the perfect, cozy, autumnal romance. Stevie and Noah are such likeable characters, really full of depth, and personality.
Noah is THE book boyfriend! Their story is the perfect mix of tension, yearning, and genuinely emotional romantic moments.

The Plot Twist by Victoria Walters is an in-one-sitting read that hooked me from the first chapter.
Stevie starts a new job and is surprised to see that her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, Noah, whom she hasn't seen in years since he broke up with her.
We follow them as they reconnect and we find out as the story goes along why their relationship ended and how they are fighting very real emotions to get over that break-up and maybe be able to forge a future together again without the problems of the past coming up again.
This is a sequel, but I haven't read the first book - yet - and had no problem following the story line. It was a good book, with likable characters and who I would relate to in real life.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in lieu of an honest review.

The ultimate rom com for all book dragons.
Stevie found the man of her dreams at her very own bookish meet cute. After a blissful year together they end suddenly as he's taken off to America. Five years later she has made her career her priority and landed herself her dream job in book publoshing. Only her new boss is the cause of her broken heart and he's now known as the shark for a reason. Noah isn't the man she knew anymore.
This was so freaking cute! I loved it. Great banter, great story line. I really got involved in their relationship and loved how the side characters came into play.
It sounds like I really want 'bitten' to be a real book but I just had it as ali hazlewood with bride in my head 😂

"No one slags off romance books to me and gets away with it."
"Perfect, I've turned you into a basic pumpkin spice latte bitch."

I am obsessed with this book. As soon as I read the first chapter I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I found myself just reading and reading.
This book shows relationships of different kinds and how people can come across or can be perceived to others which isn’t a true reflection on them at all.
The mystery behind why Stevie and Noah broke up is so intriguing you just find yourself reading on and on to find out more. Not all wounds and breaks ups can be healed though, can they?
The writing style in this was sublime and if you pick any book up this year it has to be this.
I can’t wait to read more of Victorias books. If you are looking for a second chance romance read then this is the one for you!

Victoria Walters knocks it out of the park with her follow up to The Love Interest. The Plot Twist focuses on Stevie, coworker of Liv from TLI as she embarks on a new job only to find her ex-boyfriend newly at the helm. This is a classic second-chance romance. You can read as a standalone, but it’s more fun if you know some of the characters who appear from The Love Interest. This is a very quick read and I gladly read it in one sitting. I would say it’s a little open door (like cracked open), but those couple scenes are easy to bypass if that’s not your thing. I would mark this as a definitely read as the second chance romance is done very well.
Thank you Boldwood Books for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
