5 stars. An absolutely wonderful book about a second chance!
First of all: this book evoked so many emotions! It made me sigh, laugh, and almost cry. There was joy, sadness, anger, happiness and a lot of longing in this book.
The book is told from Stevie's (FMC) point of view. Stevie starts her new dream job at a publishing house. But on her first day, she is shocked: the boss is her ex-boyfriend Noah, who dumped her by leaving for New York years ago.
The book follows Stevie and Noah's reacquaintance, and little by little the past is unraveled. Why did Noah leave so suddenly? Can Stevie trust Noah again? Did the breakup actually hit Noah as hard as Stevie?
The plot of the story progresses smoothly at a good pace. Memories of past events are told just right alongside the present. The author has wonderfully brought out the whole range of emotions, and Stevie and Noah are great, genuine characters.
I couldn't put the book down, I read it in one sitting. For me, this was definitely unputdownable!
I have also read Victoria Walters' previous book, The Love Interest, and this was a sequel to that. However, this book also works well as a standalone. I recommend the book to readers who want gentle reading, joy and a happy ending.
What to wait:
* Difficult past
* Enemies to lovers (ish)
* Forced proximity
* Hea
* Office romance
* Second chance
* Slowburn
* The one that got away
* Third act: no break up

The Plot Twist By Victoria Walters is an emotionally charged exes-to-coworkers-back-to- lovers romance. It briefly covers the grief and pain that comes with breakups as well as the healing and growth that follows, which is a unique addition to romance novels.
Stevie Phillips gets the job of her dreams just to show up on her first day to find her ex-boyfriend Noah is her new boss, aptly nicknamed after a toothy sea creature for his cold and ruthless demeanor.
She is forced to face him, and their past, or give up her dream job. She won't let him negativity affect her life, not again! So, with her big girl panties on she charges into her new job, determined to succeed and also not let him see how bad he hurt her. Yet, working in close proximity with the man that she once, scratch that...STILL loves makes that a futile feat. The more they work together the more Stevie learn why Noah left and that it didn't have anything to do with not loving her! Some wounds just can't be healed though, can they?
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for early access to read The Plot Twist By Victoria Walters in exchange for an honest review. It was nice to have a book that had some emotional healing and redemption intwined in the plot with the romance.

3.75/5 stars
I'm a sucker for a good cover and I picked it up for the cover alone.
I also love a good second chance romance and a book that focuses on the publishing industry as I'm a book lover myself. The prologue and epilogue are genuinely so cute and I was hooked from the prologue alone. There was a lot of good banter and chemistry between our main characters and I enjoyed this book a lot. Some of the miscommunication felt over done and pointless. I get rom coms have miscommunications so the characters don't just live happily ever after without ever experiencing conflict, but this miscommunication, ehh I wasn't a fan of.

I had the privilege of receiving an ARC of “The Plot Twist” by Boldwood Books and NetGalley. I have to say I was intrigued by the description of this book! “Ex-boyfriend turned boss”, I knew I had to see where this plot went!
Stevie is our career driven FMC, who has just landed her dream job. Noah is our slightly grumpy MMC who is returning to London for a company takeover. Stevie is forced to make the decision to work alongside her ex to keep her dream job. Or leave her dream behind to save her the heartache.
The pace of this book really kept me interested and tuned in. I loved the sub plot of fighting for romance novels respect in publishing. The only part I didn’t love was the miscommunication between Stevie and Noah at times. All-in-all I think The Plot Twist is a great read for anyone! If you need a feel-good romance I definitely recommend picking this up!
side note: this book has the one of the cutest prologue and epilogues ever!!! Noah is a man after my own heart!

As Stevie embarks on her first day at her long-awaited position in a publishing firm, the universe seems determined to play a cruel joke on her, unleashing a series of hilariously unfortunate events. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend Noah now occupies the role of her boss, creating a supremely awkward situation. Their initial charming encounter was merely a prelude to a relationship that proved unsustainable five years ago, yet the lingering emotions remain painfully palpable. With their careers and hearts hanging precariously in the balance, Stevie and Noah face daunting challenges. Victoria Walters skillfully weaves together a tale that seamlessly combines lighthearted humor with genuine empathy, offering readers a delightful and heartwarming narrative. "The Plot Twist" beckons to all book enthusiasts who still harbor faith in love or seek an extra dose of optimism on their journey to finding it.

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 It is near impossible for a book lover to not judge a book by its cover when it has a bookcase with a ladder featured! When the first day at Stevie’s dream job at a publishing company goes horribly sour, the hits just keep coming her way in a comically unfortunate turn of events. Her ex-boyfriend, Noah, is her new boss and it might not get any more awkward than that. Their Perfect meet cute was the start of a relationship that was just not sustainable five years ago, and the emotions are still very real and raw. The stakes are high for Stevie and Noah as their jobs, and hearts are on the line. Victoria Walters writes a breezy, beautiful book with the most perfect twists of humor balanced with compassion. The Plot Twist is for all the book lovers who believe in love…or need an extra dose of hope to get there ❤️
