When Louise makes a new friend in yoga class she is surprised to learn that Erin and her husband have an open marriage. She is immediately intrigued and brings up the idea to her husband. Maybe this will solve the issues in their marriage. But, things are not what they seem and once the swap happens, these couples will never be the same.

With a title like The Open Marriage, I expected there to be more salacious and badly behaved couples. That isn’t what this is. It is a psychological thriller wrapped up in some bad behavior to get what the player(s) wants. Although the story kept me entertained, I had the whole plot pegged within the first few chapters. There were some things that surprised me but not much. I liked the overall story and how the author was able to wrap it all up in a neatly tied bow. It isn’t the most suspenseful thriller but I was still drawn into the crazy schemes that kept this story moving forward which ultimately made intriguing story to read.

This book appeals to a lot of people and I can see why! But it does not work for me. Not only am I a prude, but I also do not get doing all this to save a marriage. Why do you want him sis? I was glad it was not spicy. It was just weird.
As always I loved hating the husband.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Louise and Marcus are married but stuck in a rut. When Louise meets Erin at yoga class she confines in her. Erin tells her that she is in an open marriage with her husband and that has solved all their issues. A week later the 2 couples are in a hotel room. Louise is a headteacher and somebody knows her secret, beginning blackmail.

This was well written and a great read. The author had me convinced that Erin and Louise were ‘goodies’ whereas their husbands were painted as the bad ones. I enjoyed the twists, turns and suspense in this tale. I did figure out the blackmailer, but it didn’t spoil the story for me.

Marcus and Louise want to reenergize their marriage and when Louise meets Erin, Erin lets Louise into how her open marriage saved her marriage Louise makes a decision, why not give it a go?
The couples set up rules and meet with another couple, the lines blur and what happens next sets off a chain of events
Good plot, especially in the second part of the book,

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced reading copy of The Open Marriage by Victoria Jenkins.

This book is getting lots of love from fellow reviewers. For me, this book started incredibly slow, 30% in and something has finally happened but is followed up with more slow dull events. I gave it to 40% through and unfortunately, for me this book is a dnf. I'm the odd ball, I'm sure more people will continue to show love for this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced copy. Marcus and Louise want to reboot their marriage. Louise meets Erin and Erin tells her how her open marriage saved her. Louise decides she needs something for her marriage, why not this? They set up rules and meet with another couple. The lines blur quickly and alot of dishonesty and mistrust happens. This was very slow the first half for me, but love the plot.

A good not great read for me,all the staples of the psychological domestic thriller were there and twists and turns and well written but I didn’t fully believe in the main character or her way of dealing with the issues,a lot of gym talk, usually love this authors books so look forward to the next one

Not what I was expecting, but it was a good suspense. It had some twists that I didn't see coming.

I would give this book a solid middle rating of 2.5 It was okay, good, but not great. It did keep my interest, but it's mediocre writing and I could see the twists and turns coming. The plot was just kind of boring, could have been way better written in my opinion.

Louise and Marcus are at a tough point in their marriage. Louise takes some advice from a new friend about spicing things up and everything turns upside down.

I didn’t like Marcus from the beginning so Louise being so desperate to improve things with him in the way she did, was a bit of a mystery to me. She made several decisions that had bad written all over them so it was difficult to really like her.

While it was obvious her decisions would turn out to be bad, the unraveling of the mystery was not obvious at all. I thought I had it all figured out and boy was I wrong! Bravo on the twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall while I didn’t love Louise, I loved the ride along with her while she put all the pieces together. I also really liked some of the supporting characters, namely Louise’s friend Maria. This book was a definite page turner that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure everything out.

Louise and Marcus are at that point in their marriage where they have started to become preoccupied with other things and are not making each other a priority. Louise is dealing with the aftermath of her mothers death, her brothers descent into addiction, and she is still coming to terms with the fact that her father was a criminal who extorted money from innocent people. Marcus is constantly paying attention to his phone and rarely makes time to even look at his wife.

One day Louise meets Erin at yoga class and this is the catalyst that will send her life and her marriage into a downward spiral. Erin tells Louise about her marriage that was at one point on the verge of divorce and how she and her husband Kieran saved it by giving an open marriage a try. You can guess where the book goes from there.

Eventually someone ends up missing and Louise starts a downward spiral. She is at the center of a missing persons investigation and doesn’t know how she ended up here.

I enjoyed this book and felt a connection to the characters. Once I was able to really get into it I just wanted to keep reading. Always the mark of a good book. The twist wasn’t as twisty as I was hoping for, but it was still a good one.

All in all I think this would be a good book for anyone who enjoys Freida McFadden and Shari Lapena. It was a quick read and definitely held my attention. 4/5 stars ⭐️

Thank you Netgalley & Bookouture for an eARC of The Open Marriage by Victoria Jenkins! This book was okay for me - I found some of the monologue repetitive and the plot was a bit predictable, but aren't they always with these types of stories? Easy to binge and kept me interested, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing what this author comes up with next!

Louise feels things aren’t right in her marriage, she’s sure her husband is having an affair, but doesn’t know how to broach the subject with her.

When she meets Erin at her yoga class, the two quickly become friends. Erin tells Louise how her marriage went through a difficult patch, and how she and her husband tried an “open marriage” to see if it helped.

Louise can’t stop thinking about this and talks to her husband about giving it a try. From this moment on, all does not go well.

This is a psychological thriller that had a twist that I was not expecting at all.

I wasn’t overly keen on Louise’s husband or Louise’s friend, Erin. I didn’t particularly like their characters.

I felt sorry for Louise, but believed she was quite naive, but I think that was probably because she was trying to save her marriage.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Victoria Jenkins once again brings genius writing to brighten up our darkest days with her delightful blend of shocking and gripping in 'The Open Marriage'.

Head teacher, Louise, is going through a rough patch with husband, Marcus, when she meets enigmatic stranger Erin, at a yoga class. The 2 women hit it off, and a coffee date soon leads to Erin sharing tales of her own open marriage and sizing out Louise to see if she and Marcus are up for joining the action! This sounds a bit racey, but really its not, its far more psychological fiction that erotica!

This novel really has it all, extortion, deception, even murder isn't off the cards in this utterly unpredictable plot!
Nothing not to like about this one, as such I would highly recommend.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

Louise and Marcus are having marital issues. Lousie meets Erin at a yoga class. Erin and her husband Kieran have an open marriage and Erin suggests to Louise this may help her marriage. They decide to give it a try but it doesn’t exactly help their relationship. Louise starts fantasizing about Kieran and thinks about him more than she thinks about her own husband. Soon Erin goes missing and Louise is worried people may think she had something to do with this.

This book was not a spicy read about an open marriage. There isn’t too much of a focus on the actual sexual engagements. The story is filled with lies, scheming, cheating, rule breaking, tension, blackmail, and a shocking truth. I did not expect the twist, and then we are hit with another twist! Short engaging read, a bit slow at first and then picks up almost halfway through, leaving us feeling satisfied by the ending.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I've read by this author, the title drew me in. It wasn't quite what I expected, I thought it would be more sexual, and more focused on the relationship of the couple but instead it was a fast paced mystery/thriller which I enjoyed.

After reading this book I would definitely read others by Victoria Jenkins.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of The Open Marriage. I normally would not have read this with this title but I like the author so I thought I would give it a try. Louise made lots of BAD decisions, I really did NOT like her character. I was surprised with the twist but still don't understand why Erin did what she did to Marcus. The only good characters were Kieran and Maria. It was an ok read.
