Many thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for giving me access to this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Plot summary:
Starting fresh is the only way Phoebe can escape a life of crime, but her best friend's older brother complicates honest dreams in this gripping new series from the authors of the Addicted series.
Phoebe Graves grew up in a family where deception and seduction are as commonplace as breathing. The Graves and her best friend Hailey’s family have been on the run their whole lives, but after a high-stakes con job goes south, Phoebe and Hailey decide to run away and start over. The small Connecticut town they settle in seems too good to be true.
The biggest flaw in their plan is Hailey’s frustratingly handsome brother, Rocky, who insists on coming with them. Living honestly isn’t in his DNA, and his past with Phoebe is downright messy. He’s everything she wants, but nothing she can have.
Phoebe worries that Rocky will tempt them back into their old ways, where lying is second nature. She doesn’t want Rocky to mess up the new life she’s begun for herself. The longer she stays in town, the more she realizes what it means to have a reputation—and what a normal life with the man she loves could look like.
My thoughts:
I went into this book blind to try and get the best experience, and this was very different to the authors previous books. I loved that the concept was so different to other romance books that I've read, and straight from the get go the characters felt very vivid and real and human. I loved that the book started with the two main female characters deciding to leave their old life behind and wanting to start afresh. I loved that the book different 'flashback' chapters so that you could see the history of everything the characters had been through.
I'm so excited to see what happens in the next book as I think this could be such a great series, with great character development and really heartfelt story arc's. The only thing that I found to be quite tedious, was the mention of 'the last job' throughout the whole book, and it felt like it took so long to find out what actually happened. I also felt like Phoebe and Rocky's relationship felt so physical and lusty the whole time. I didn't get any emotional connection at all between them, so I'm hoping for some cute normal moments between them in the rest of the series, as I found myself wishing Phoebe would go for Jake instead so that she could live the normal life that she deserves..
3 star overall

A fun and light read that has the potential to be translated into a screen format. It has fun characters, romance and witty banter. All the makings for a series, both book and tv. I'm eagerly awaiting the next part of this!
Thank you Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange of my unbiased review.

THIS WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE READ IN A WHILE
unique plot, amazing chemistry and characters what more could a girl ask for
Im so giddy and excited for the next book you have no idea how muxh i loved this
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc

This was great! Enjoyable, fun, great plot and character-driven. Strong start to hopefully a brilliant series. Already excited for the next one.

I went into this book with very high hopes as I have loved previous books by the authors.
Even though I didn’t enjoy it as much I still enjoyed this story, especially as a first book in a series. I loved the chemistry between all the characters and the banter was on point. The book was filled with tension that kept me on my toes throughout

I loved this book! This is the first one by Krista & Becca Ritchie that I've read, though I do have a bunch of their other books on my TBR and if they're anything like this one, I think I'm going to love them. My understanding is that this is the beginning of a second generation that carries on from another series of books, but I don't think it matters if you read them out of order like I am.
Rocky and Phoebe are the children of two best friends who have been con artists most of their adult lives. The two have been working together to pull off cons for as long they can remember and since they became adults, they've pretended to be dating, engaged and married so it's no wonder they've created a connection between them.
This story follows Phoebe and her best friend Hailey (Rocky's younger sister) after Hailey invokes their inertia pact after a job goes wrong - this means that whatever is happening, the two friends need to switch paths without questioning the other. Hailey wants to take them away and try to start an honest life, away from the influence of their parents so Phoebe follows her to Victoria, Connecticut. It's a rich town, a perfect place to pull off a con, but not the easiest place to start a new honest life.
I enjoyed the angst of Rocky and Phoebe's relationship, he's not afraid to love her or even admit that he's been in love with her for years but he refuses to take things further with her unless it's real and just for a con. Phoebe is desperate for Rocky to initiate anything with her but she knows he won't after a job that happened 2yrs prior that changed their relationship and she asked him to keep things purely platonic.
It ends on a cliff hanger though and I have no idea when the next book comes out, so I don't know if it will continue to follow Rocky and Phoebe or if it'll move on to one of the other members of the "family."
Thanks to NetGalley & Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This was very different to any of the books that I have read by Krista and Becca. The flicking back and to in time took me out of it a little bit and I wasn’t a big fan of the cliffhanger. However overall I thought it was a unique and fun plot for the book and I’m interested to see more in the next book and hopefully delve deeper into the characters

4.5⭑
Tropes;
- grumpy x grumpy
- best friends brother
- con artist families
- slow burn <3
- dual POV
Dishonestly Yours is about Phoebe and Rocky, her best friends brother. Phoebe and Rocky are both from con artist families who work on cons together.
After a con gone wrong, Phoebe and her best friend run away to a small town in Connecticut to try and start fresh away from the con life.
I love KBR’s addicted series so I knew I was going to enjoy this book and I absolutely loved it!! I loved the concept of the con family plot and enjoyed reading some of the “past” chapters, which not only went into the con plot but also showed us Phoebe & Rocky’s relationship over the years.
I loved their grumpy x grumpy dynamic and the development of their relationship. I loved that both of them were pining for each other and the other not knowing anything about it. I loved that they were constantly watching over each other while pretending they didn’t care. It created a bit of a toxic relationship and I ate up every part of it. KBR know how to write a toxic relationship and then give us character and relationship growth, so I’m excited for this to be explored in the next book.
Speaking of the next book, the cliffhanger left me😮. I can’t waitttttt until the next book, i NEED to know what happens next 😱.
Thank you NetGalley & Pan MacMillan for sending me an early copy in exchange for my honest review.

ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS BOOK!!!! Yet another book from KBR that walks the dark romance line quite finely. Slowburn & friends to lovers!

Krista and Becca our unicorn writer's of mine, and sensational to meet in person, so seeing something new from them kinda rocked my world..... and this book made my head spin.
Slow to move but please, stick with it because that's what the girls do best because it's all part of the necessary build up to the that ending. Bravo, girls, bravo.
Thank you NetGalley, Krista and Becca and PanMcmillan for the copy.

This book surprised me with how different it is from other contemporary romances. With a mix of suspense and slow-burning romance, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat, questioning everything and everyone.
The relationship between Rocky and Phoebe is fascinating, and the plot surrounding their lives intertwined with cons and false identities is intriguing. The ending left my heart racing and wanting more, especially knowing that the series will continue.
I loved the banter and chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky, and the family dynamics between the Graves and the Tinrocks. The friendship between Phoebe and Hailey is a highlight. If you enjoy stories about crime, cons, and strong family bonds, this book is for you!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan and Netgalley for providing me with an arc.
I am not continuing with this book after pulling up content warnings and seeing that it has SA or discussion of SA in it and that it is a major part. I was excited for this book but SA is one trigger I avoid almost always except for very rare cases with author's I have read before and I haven't read from these two yet.

it wasn’t ✨bad✨ it just was boring 😩🥲
This had so much potential 😭
I feel so bad and i wish i would have like this book! I went into it with high expectations and with excitement but that changed quickly when page after page felt like a drag and nothing happened, like literally nothing!!! This entire book felt like the first 100 pages of a good book, because the concept and vibes I loved!!
The romance also didn’t give me the tension and jealousy I was expecting! They hardly spoke to each other, they just kept thinking how they can’t be together but they also want each other so badly.
This story didn’t have high stakes which didn’t make me care because nothing ever was in danger and the ending was so underwhelming…
again i’m not hating on the book at all because it wasn’t bad and it had potential and i loved the vibes but it just did not work for me at all!
Thank you PanMacmillan and Netgalley for the ARC!

An interesting series opener with secrets I want to uncover!
Last year I discovered and fell in love with Becca & Krista Ritchie's Addicted to You/Calloway Sisters series and I also devoured the second generation series.
With "Dishonestly Yours", the author duo begins a new journey into the world of conartists.
Confamilie? Frenemies/friends-to-lovers? Hello, I'm right there with you!
First of all, I'd like to say that I found the story really entertaining and read it in one go.
However, I imagined the con aspect of the story to be something else. I thought we would be there for the coups, but here it's just about them.
I love Phoebe very much! She and Hailey are best friends and are like night and day. But their friendship is just so great. They love each other like sisters and will do anything for each other.
I think the characters are all super cool! They are all morally gray and think nothing of being within the law. I'm really excited to get to know Phoebe's brothers better in the next volume.
You never know what Rocky will do next! And I like it that way! He's the perfect liar and with his charm and charisma he can really wrap anyone around his finger.
The relationship between Phoebe and Rocky is anything but easy. Lying and deceiving is as natural to them as breathing.
But can you deceive the person you secretly love and know better than yourself?
I loved the tension and banter between the two. The egg addiction. The desperation and love for each other was palpable.
Both Rocky and Phoebe are both extremely stubborn and love that they both have a strong protective instinct towards those they love.
Even though it dragged in the middle and I found some things a bit unbelievable, the crazy was able to pick me up again.
And guys! I can't tell you how much I want to read the second volume of the "Webs We Weave" series now.
I give "Dishonestly Yours" 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

"Dishonestly Yours" by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie is an enthralling and unconventional romance novel that delves into the complex lives of two families deeply entrenched in a world of deceit and crime. The story centers around Phoebe Graves, who has been raised in an environment where stealing and seduction are second nature.
When a con goes disastrously wrong, Phoebe and her best friend, Hailey Tinrock, make the bold decision to abandon their criminal ways and seek a fresh start in a small college town in Connecticut. Their plan to leave their past behind takes an unexpected turn when Hailey’s older brother, Rocky, discovers their intentions and insists on joining them, unwilling to let them face this new chapter alone.
Phoebe's journey from a life of dishonesty to attempting a legitimate existence is captivating. Her internal struggles and the lingering pull of her past create a compelling narrative that keeps readers invested in her transformation. Hailey and Rocky provide strong supporting roles, adding depth and richness to the story. Rocky, in particular, is an intriguing character whose protective nature and own history add layers of complexity to the plot.
The authors excel at crafting multidimensional characters whose personal growth is both believable and engaging. The dynamic between Phoebe, Hailey, and Rocky is well-developed, with a mix of tension, camaraderie, and budding romance that keeps the reader hooked. The novel’s exploration of themes such as loyalty, redemption, and the search for a better life resonates deeply.
However, the plot occasionally ventures into predictability, and some of the twists may be anticipated by astute readers. Despite this, the strong character development and emotional depth of the story make these minor flaws forgivable. The Ritchie sisters have a knack for blending romance and drama with just the right amount of suspense, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Overall, "Dishonestly Yours" earns a solid 4 stars. It is a gripping tale of love, redemption, and the struggle to escape a shadowy past. Fans of romance and drama will find themselves immersed in Phoebe’s world, rooting for her as she navigates the challenges of building a new life while contending with the echoes of her former one.

I was so excited to get stuck in to this book because I had seen the most lovely Rachel loving on this book and honestly she was so not wrong!
From the get go I was in - this was my first Krista and Becca Ritchie and absolutely won’t be my last because when you read this you’ll know why from the ending but also because I loved the writing and I have fallen for these characters- I heart Phoebe & Rocky.
It’s so much fun and packed with some of my favourite tropes - found family, best friends brother, forbidden romance and small New England town. Peppered throughout are pop culture references from Supernatural to Mystic Pizza and pining oh the pining! - if that wasn’t enough you know how much I love a heist and while not technically heist, con artist family is the next best thing.
And there’s plot- I love romance books but sometimes the plot is so obvious and it doesn’t matter at all because the romance is romancing, “Dishonestly Yours” the romance is romancing but the plot kept me on my toes and I did not guess how it was going to go down.
This was such a fun read that has definitely got me enrolled in the Krista & Becca Ritchie fan club and very excited for the next instalment.
This was 4.5 stars for me.

It’s my turn on the Dishonestly Yours blog tour and I’m so happy to be apart of the tour for this incredible book! (Head on over to my TikTok later on to see the disaster of me making these chocolate strawberries!)
I was absolutely taken by this story from the get-go, the addicted series has been on my tbr for the longest time and this was my first Krista and Becca Ritchie book and it did not disappoint (in fact it just made me want to read the addicted series even more!)
You know an amazing book when it immediately puts you into a book hangover and you’d do anything to go back and read it for the first time! Phoebe and Rocky did that for me, I loved the way Phoebe had grown from this con artist being used for her body, constantly playing the role of seductress — to a girl trying to do and be better by taking back control of her own life. The same goes for Rocky’s character, he’s brash, jealous and the grumpiest person ever, but their romance just works (even as a will they/won’t they)
I don’t want to give too much away about the story itself, so I’ll also leave you guys with the fact this book had one of my favourite things — found family (sort of?)
The combination of the two families together always made for the best scenes and I can’t wait to see where this story goes!

absolutely loved this book!! i was obsessed from the start i loved the characters and just everything out it can’t wait for the next one!

I. Loved. This. Book.
The found family in this book is top tier, the writing both fun and beautiful, the relationships full of tension and the plot was ominous enough that it could go in a few different directions. What’s not to love?
Rocky and Phoebe are soulmates and you’ll not convince me otherwise. I loved how well they know each other. They can predict one another’s thoughts/ reactions/ feelings and know what each other needs at any given time. They each yearn for the other and the tension between them is a tangible thing that I felt in my bones. I’m so excited to see where their story takes them.
I found Phoebe’s pov very interesting: her thoughts and reactions to any mention of her mother and the way she responded to that felt like a response to abuse and I think that all the friends have some trauma to unpack. I’m also really looking forward to her character arc and growth in the coming books cause our girly hasn’t got a great load of self worth at the moment!
The plot twist came out of nowhere and shocked me to my core, this story has me on tenterhooks and I can’t wait to see where the sisters take the rest of this trilogy!
Thankyou to Netgalley and Panmacmillan for the ARC.

Immediately 5 stars!!! Krista and Becca Ritchie created my fav book series ever and I was so nervous to read another book by them.
But let me tell you that this book was amazing!!! The plot was so different from everything I ever read - I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did.
It’s a slow-burn romance but so fast paced that it's impossible to stop reading.
