Dishonestly yours follows the lives of two con artist families. It’s all they’ve ever known. Until Carlsbad, a job that tested the limits of Phoebe and Hailey. Now Hailey wants out. A normal life in a small town. No conning. Away from their parents.
Easier said than done. Rocky, Hailey’s older brother and Phoebe’s irritatingly smooth childhood crush, is along for the ride. But he complicates things.
I’ve never read a book about con artists and wasn’t sure how I’d enjoy such manipulative main characters. But learning about their backstories and it being a life they’ve been born into, made me empathise a bit more.
If you want a book filled with angst, chemistry, banter, and the slowest of slow burns, this is for you. Rocky and Phoebe are meant to be, but just can’t be. Imagine loving someone but if you give in and be together your whole family will just manipulate your relationship for the benefit of a con??!
It’s a slow start to the series as key things around the world of con artists is described, and a multitude of characters are introduced. But then the last 100 pages were like a slap on the face. Wake up. Keep reading. Then bam cliff hanger.
Great start to what will hopefully be an another fab series for Krista and Becca Ritchie.
ps don’t you love it when the cover makes sense after you read it 🤭
Thank you to netgalley and pan macmillan for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
THE MOST CAPTIVATING INCREDIBLE BOOK EVER!’ IM SO OBSESSED!! genuinely a new all time favourite. i’m just so in love with everything about this book. It was so unlike anything i’ve read before so i didn’t think i’d love it but it exceeded every expectation it was just amazing. i couldn’t put it down i just needed phoebe and rocky together!! the slow burn was slow burning in the best way. the ANGST and TENSION were everything !! the way i need the next book ASAP!!!
I read this book back in May and adored everything about it.
I was so afraid of starting a new series by KBR. Saying goodbye to the Like Us series in January was one of the hardest things that ever happened in my bookish life. But if there’s ANYONE who can catch me with a single book is this duo.
This particular book was amazing. The plot was so peculiar and different from everything I ever read - I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did - because I became completely obsessed with this world and this group!
It’s a slow-burn romance but so fast paced - I read it in one sitting and regret nothing. Their writing is still one of my favorites ever and Krista&Becca are truly storytellers - knowing exactly how to keep everyone addicted to their stories.
But let’s focus on this new world: the group was amazing and the plot is INSANE. This was a journey, I was on the edge of my seat all the freaking time and I can’t believe book 2 is not out yet.
I became obsessed with Phoebe and Rocky and I need more and more of them.
It’s a great time to be alive when we are able to read a whole new world by this amazing author duo.
Thank you NetGalley, Krista and Becca and PanMcmillan.
Can Krista and Becca do any wrong? No, they cannot. I missed their writing so much and this was just what we needed!
The characters, the plot, the twists, the cons and Rocky & Phoebe's sizzling chemistry will suck you in from the start, devouring every page to the cliffhanger ending that leaves you feeling absolutely devastated that book 2 is not available right now! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
⭒ Rating: 4.5-5 stars
I don’t know why but I was kind of nervous to start this, even though I’ve been ready for new KBR words for a while. But they just proved to me once again why I love their writing so much! Dishonestly Yours was an incredible book, an insane intro into this new series and set of characters. Boy, I became obsessed quick. The angst between these two was making my stomach do some kicks and also giving me life. I missed reading this kind of angst. It was sooo good.
I loved getting to know each character. I honestly am so excited to get to know them ALL better. It was such an interesting and entertaining bunch. I’m dying to learn more about them and see how they are gonna navigate what they just found out about their families.
I loved Phoebe and Hailey’s friendship. Their aesthetics and personalities were insane. The love between them was so sweet. The way Rocky was so protective of both of them had me all soft. +He was so obsessed with Phoebe. I LOVED IT SM.
Phoebe and Rocky had me dying over them already. Like for real. I see so much potential for these two becoming a new fav couple for me to obsess over as much as Lilo, Marrow and Lunnelly. I know this book just came but omg i’m seriously already dying for more. I hate the fact that with this being traditionally published, the waiting time between books is gonna be so long because I would have binging the whole series in one go lmao.
I love that we got chapters set in the past because it really allowed us to see the crazy life they all lead and their individual skills but also the insane history between Rocky and Phoebe. It all just made the angst even better. I loved being teased with them getting together, the is it gonna happen, is it not? I actually enjoyed that ahah.
Honestly, this book felt like a masterpiece. I am so in love with these characters already. The plot is insane and there’s so much potential there. I’m hoping this will be a long series and we’ll get books for all the kids 🤞🏻 cause I wanna get inside all their heads man. For real, I enjoyed this SO much and I CANNOT wait for more!
If you’ve never read these authors before, what are you doing with your life?! No, ahah, Dishonestly Yours will be a good place for you to dive into their writing.
♥ Tropes: best friend’s brother, small town romance, angst, fake dating,
♥ Microtropes: mutual pining, he’s obsessed
4.5⭐️- Con-artist family, angsty slow burn romance & found family? That’s exactly what you can expect if you pick up Dishonestly Yours. This book surprised me in the best way, I felt like I was watching a tv series I was so invested in the characters & their storylines!
In a family of con-artists, Phoebe & Hailey are used to tricking & lying their way through life. But after one job goes particularly bad, they decide to cut ties with that life & move to a small town in Connecticut to ‘go straight’.
Rocky, Hailey’s older brother, decides to go with them instead of pursuing the next job, & he was the star of the show for me - I LOVE him. At a glance he seemed to be just a good looking guy with no regard for others, but once you get to know him you see how protective he is of his family & SO torn over his feelings for Phoebe & the thought of what could happen if they were together for real. There were so many layers to his personality & I just wanted to find out everything about him. I need him. Biblically.
It’s told in both Phoebe & Rocky’s POV - fair warning, their romance is messy. They’ve never been able to live normally & this reflects in the back & forth of their dynamic over the last 20 years. They’ve lived every false life possible together - dating, married, siblings, friends, lovers, but never actually confessed their real feelings. It’s a slow burn with a lot of jealousy & pining along the way, but it’s so worth it ❤️🔥
This is the start of what I just know is going to be a really amazing series! It’s full of twists, found family, so much tension & banter that you won’t be able to put it down. A must-read this summer 🕷️🕸️🍓
Thank you so much to Chloe & the team at Pan MacMillan for the chance to receive a physical ARC of this amazing book! 🫶🏼
I did enjoy this book, though I must admit, it didn't captivate me as much as I had hoped. While the chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky is palpable, their interactions were fewer than I would have liked. However, this book serves well as the first in a series, setting the scene beautifully. The characters were engaging, and I anticipate excellent character development in future installments, knowing Krista and Becca's writing. The unexpected ending has left me eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
I went into reading this book with very high expectations, due to me loving the addicted series. Unfortunately this didn’t quite meet my standards and make the same impression. I found the plot line slightly too dramatic. The plot twist at the end just seemed a bit too far fetched. The chemistry between the main characters was weird.
I really wanted to like Dishonestly Yours since Kiss the Sky and Fuel the Fire by the same authors are two of my favourite novels. Unfortunately, Dishonestly Yours did not do it for me. The characters were bland, the plot was non-existent and the romance was tepid.
Phoebe and Rocky spend most of the book dancing around each other and antagonising each other which means by the time they (really Phoebe) stop toying with each other there's hardly enough time for romance. The authors seem to rely on (surprisingly boring) flashbacks of old cons to tell us why Pheobe and Rocky are into each other but all they really do is reveal their families are arseholes and Rocky is possessive.
The book ends on a cliffhanger which although was obvious was the only thing that peaked my interest as I'm a sucker for messy family drama. I'm on the fence about reading the next book. In fact I'd probably be more interested in a prequel about the parents rather than continuing to read about manufactured Phoebe-Rocky angst.
I wanted to love this so much and until around 30% I did.
However, from that point on, I was bored, couldn’t find the motivation to pick the book up and just kept becoming more and more confused…
I’m still not really sure what’s going on, and the cliffhanger? For what reason?
I’m gutted I didn’t love it as much as I was hoping as it was a highly anticipated read for me but it just fell flat for me.
*4.5 stars
This was one of my most anticipated releases, and I was thrilled to read it early! I went in with zero expectations, preferring to know little about the plot, just as I did with the Addicted series, which I love.
While I initially struggled with the setup, I quickly became obsessed with the characters and the plot. Krista and Becca masterfully hooked me despite my initial doubts. The plot is incredibly detailed and well-thought-out, keeping me curious throughout.
The characters, especially Phoebe and Rocky, were captivating. Their obsession with each other, along with the intriguing Hailey and the dynamic found family aspect with Nova, Oliver, and Trevor, made the story compelling. Their relationships felt genuine and deep, showcasing their strong bonds.
The romance was gut-wrenching and emotional, with Phoebe and Rocky's special connection taking me on a rollercoaster of feelings. I highly recommend this book; it’s so good, and you won’t be disappointed.
I have mixed feelings about this one but overall it was a good read,
I think this is a good start to a new series and there were lots of aspects of the book which I enjoyed but it did have some issues.
Starting with the positives
* The concept of the family being con artists and high stakes heists was brilliant - really enjoyed it and found it to be quite unique
* The romance was great - the perfect amount of slow burn
* The relationship dynamics were great to read and I loved seeing it play out on page
* As the book went on, the pacing was good and the writing kept me engaged
* The characters were great
The drawback for me was the pacing at the beginning of the book; it was just so slow and a bit info-dumpy (is that even a word!), it just made it a bit of a slog to get through, I'm glad I persevered but im not sure it was all necessary.
Overall this is a good read and readers should definitely stick with it to get through to the latter part of the book
Given that this is the first book in the series, it had a lot of background information to cover that made the plot a little slower at times; but it overall kept me on the edge of my seat and especially after the ending had me gasping; I can't wait for future books you'll definitely see me picking up the next book.
Dishonestly Yours by Krista and Becca Ritchie is the first book in the Webs We Weave Series. This is Phoebe and Rocky‘s story.
Phoebe and Rocky are childhood friends and she is also best friend‘s with Rocky‘s sister Hailey. They grew up together in a very unconventional way as their families are con artists. This was something I’ve never read before, and it was very intriguing. But this dishonest life can get tiring very fast, and Phoebe and Hailey make plans to settle down in a small New England town to live an honest life. Rocky hears of their plan and accompanies them, but his intentions aren’t as honest.
The characters are very morally gray and unhinged at times and that was so refreshing. The series title is very telling, and they weave a web of lies and secrets and it was very entertaining to follow. I really liked Phoebe for her dedication and totally admire her blue hair, but she has a long path ahead of improving her life. Rocky is very unpredictable, and he has a lot to him that you don’t get to see and I can’t wait to uncover more about him.
Phoebe and Rocky‘s relationship is very messy and all over the place at times, but that was very fitting to their story. They have a lot of work to do to create a stable relationship and this book is just the start and I can’t wait to see more of them.
Overall, Dishonestly Yours is something completely different from Krista and Becca Ritchie and I really enjoyed it. 4 stars.

Wow I’m truly speechless after finishing this book. Krista & Becca Richie have done it again I’m yet again obsessed with another one of their series. This book is addictive and really reminds me on the series investing anna because of the type of con artists they are. Phoebe the mfc is giving the best main character energy and rocky the mmc is giving rich, bad boy, protective vibes. One thing Krista & Becca Richie do better that anyone is write the most heartbreaking trauma for their characters and these characters had such a specific type of trauma that started when they were so young and I can’t wait to see how that deal with that and overcome what has happed to them. All the siblings in this book are just so cute and I really want a book for everyone. There’s so many ways that this series can go and I’m slightly terrified. I literally couldn’t sit down when reading the end of this book because of plot twists and things that are revealed. I need the next book like yesterday because I’ve never read a cliffhanger like this and I know I’ll be thinking about this book non stop. I 100% recommend reading this book it’s so fast paced but also amazing written and I can see the depth of the characters getting better and better and the series goes on.
first of all... Krista and Becca Ritchie are one of my favorite writers ever, I will undoubtedly read whatever they write and they did not dissapoint with this new serie as well. the angst, character arc, found family and everything was just basically so beautifully written.
“You never went to law school and you still believe you’re the judge of everything”
Lol, that line had me laughing out loud 🤣
This book was so different from the Addicted book that I’ve read, but I did really like the angst and tension that this one had. The story follows two con artists, Hailey and Phoebe, who decide to leave the world of conning and move to Victoria in Connecticut. Sounds like a plan, but then there’s Rocky, Hailey’s sister, joining them in Victoria. Oh, and there’s Jake. You’ll see a lot from Jake as well.
I liked the story, but it took me some time to get into it. I did like the storyline though, and there were some nice twists and turns as well. Mind you, this book ends in a cliffhanger. Usually not a huge problem for me if I can start book 2 right away, but that one’s not out yet, so you’ll have to wait!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own 🫶🏼
3.5 ☆
Krista and Becca's books are always entertaining and very easy to read! This one was the same, although I think that since it was the first book they took a lot more time to introduce the characters and the background and therefore it was less "juicy" but I can't wait to read the next one!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC.

Dishonestly Yours" is the first volume of the new romance series "Webs We Weave" by Krista and Becca Ritchie.
Once again, we find ourselves in front of a romance featuring two childhood friends as protagonists. In fact, Phoebe and Rocky have known each other forever and have always had feelings for each other, yet they have been forced to stifle their feelings. This volume presents both their povs, and I immediately became fond of both characters.
Phoebe is a strong, brave and outspoken girl, she loves her family and would do anything for them. Rocky is confident and passionate but unlike Phoebe he despises his parents, although he has a wonderful relationship with his siblings.
The two families have worked together for a long time, so the Graves and the Tinrock grew up together, creating an unbreakable bond. Krista and Becca Ritchie are the queens of the found family trope and they did not disappoint me.
The affection that binds the characters of this series is already evident, and the way they care for each other is really moving. The secondary characters have had little space, but I’m sure that going forward they will be able to conquer me too.
I really liked Phoebe and Rocky together, they have a sweet relationship and I also found valid the motivations that pushed them to avoid a relationship for years. Surely, I would have preferred more scenes between them. A few more flashbacks to when they were younger would not have hurt. However, I'll wait for the next volumes to get completely lost in their story. ♥️.
As for the plot in general I must say that I found really interesting all the parts dedicated to the Graves and Tinrock's scams. They added a touch of action to the book that I really appreciated. The last chapters kept me in suspense, and I didn’t expect the final plot twist.
The ending was absolutely illegal and now I will look forward to the second volume.
