Such a fun, addictive start to a new adventure.

Phoebe and her best friend's, Hailey, families have been on the run their whole lives, but after a high-stakes con job goes south, the two decide to run away and start over in a small Connecticut town. The first complication in their plan arises when Rocky, Hailey's brother, insists on joining them, hell-bent on proving that living an honest life is not in their DNA.

The story might have a slow build up, but once it gets going it simply does not slow down for a second. The overall plot is interesting and so captivating and it truly keeps you hooked all the way through. It sets up the second book so nicely, and I'm actually so excited for it, I don't know how I'm supposed to wait.

The characters are all so interesting and so different, and I feel the book does a great job at introducing them well enough that you feel like you know them, but you can't shake that feeling there's still so much to uncover about each of them. The dynamics are so intriguing as well, you can see these people all care so deeply about each other and would do just about anything to make sure they're all safe, and I genuinely cannot wait to see them more developed as the series continues.

Phoebe and Hailey's friendship was particularly heartwarming to me; it was clear from the very first second they would jump through fire for the other without even batting an eye. I wish we could see more of Hailey's thoughts, because I feel like she's such a fascinating character who has so much more to herself, and I want to see it all.

I also really loved Phoebe and Rocky's relationship and the way it developed. There is such a level of care behind the intricacies of their bond, and it's very clear from the start there is a lot of history there, even when you don't have the full picture yet. They have so much love for each other, there's such a strong push and pull between them as they try to stay away, yet can't really get too far from each other for some reason or the other. The angst, the pining, the banter... it's all top tier for me.

As for the side characters, I really did love all of their siblings, on both sides. They are all so different and I am so excited to find out more about each of them. Many dynamics have yet to be explored and that really makes me look forward to the rest of the series, because the seed is there right in front of you, and you're just waiting until it blooms. And, especially after that ending, I can't wait to see how things are gonna unravel between all of them.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. It's such a good start for this new series, just so perfectly crafted. It leaves you wanting more on so many levels, and I can't wait to see where the story goes. That last 10% went absolutely crazy, it had me rushing through those last few pages because I simply had to know what was gonna happen.

To its core, this is a Krista & Becca Ritchie book at its best, but there is such a nice balance between characters & plot, putting this right in the middle where both elements are crucial to move the story forward. There is something so comforting and familiar in the writing, while still remaining fresh and new and exciting. I'm sure if you liked the Addicted Series, you won't be disappointed by this one either.

Huge thanks to Pan Macmillan & NetGalley for the e-ARC! All opinions are my own!

Krista and Becca are the queens of romance!!!
Their new book was an absolute roller coaster, I loved the intricate plot involving con artist families and the dual timelines showing past cons. Its an amazing romance with an equally amazing plot, that ending left my jaw on the floor! Waiting for the next book is torture. Also I loved that they went with a grumpy vs grumpy romance, that was so fun to read, and its my new favourite romance trope :)

Phoebe Graves and Rocky Tinrock have been many things to each other. Lovers, siblings, enemies, only it has all been fake because Phoebe and Rocky are con artists. What is very real however, is the tension between them but conning is keeping them apart. Coming from two families of grifters, conning has been all they’ve ever known, until Hailey, Rocky’s sister and Phoebe’s best friend, decides to put an end to it all and live an honest life. Will Phoebe and Hailey manage to stay away from conning? And will something real finally bloom between Rocky and Phoebe?

Krista & Becca Ritchie have done it again, written an angsty, unique and gripping romance! The plot was interesting and the angst made me want to keep reading. The characters were intense, full of depth and all-consuming. If you’ve read the Addicted series, you know the authors’ writing style and how real their characters feel and this one is no exception. Krista & Becca Ritchie manage to write characters you feel for deeply and that grow close to your heart. Phoebe and Rocky reminded me of Lily and Loren with the toxicity and complications of their relationship but also their undeniable, intense and honest love and support for each other. I did find the book to be a little long and slow-paced at times but towards the end, the plot really had me hooked and I will 100% pick up the next book in the series!

If you’ve liked the Addicted Series, I am almost certain you’ll enjoy this one! I feel like another core six is on its way!! I also have a feeling that the books will only get better as the series continues, similar to how it was with their previous series.

(You might want to check CW with this one!)

I liked the book, at first, it was kind of slow and it was hard for me to get into this new universe with new characters, but the last chapters made it worth it. The ending was great, the cliffhanger left me expectant for the next book and well, I've grown fond of this new core six. The plot revolves around two best friends, Phoebe and Hailey, daughters of con-artists, who seek to restart their lives in a small town in Connecticut. Which won't be easy when Rocky (Hailey's brother) intersects them but then tags along, thinking it's all part of an experiment and that they will soon be back to normal.

I must admit that KBR's books have some kind of magic because I always end up liking them, the books are really engrossing and page-turner. I think one of the things they excel at is creating an outstanding found family in their books. It was a nice addition, the back and forth of the narrative between the present and the past, as it gives us more insight into the characters, their backgrounds, and flashbacks of their past jobs, although some were a bit pointless as they just didn't add much to the plot.

It was refreshing to read from Phoebe and Rocky's points of view. I was intrigued by their relationship. Both tormented by their lives, stubborn but capable of doing the impossible for those they love. They have complicated feelings for each other which can be noticed in their interactions; their banter and chemistry were pretty explosive. There were moments that it was dragged too much whether to be together or not, which was a bit tedious at times.

Something that did bother me is the fact that Phoebe was objectified too much. She's been through a lot, and she's trying to find herself, but it was disheartening how even her mother put her in unpleasant situations and treated her like a pawn. I hope we can see her growth as a character and not everything is based on her appearance because she is more than that. She is strong, resilient, hard-working, and passionate. She kinda reminds me to Lily.

Rocky is a pretty fascinating character which reminds me quite a bit of Loren. Sassy, hothead but very protective. I wondered if the second book will have Hailey's pov. I find her an interesting and loving character, I would like to know what is going on in her head, not for nothing is she called the mastermind of the group.

This is a swooning romance that contains some secrets, manipulation, angsty moments, drama and a sweet bond between the main characters that you will grown to love.

book: Dishonestly Yours
author: Krista & Becca Ritchie

i haven’t read all of the Addicted series yet, but i will say that already, i much prefer addicted to this one 😬

personally, i just felt that nothing really happened until around 20% in, it just felt very slow and i was getting a little bored at times… the ending was great and really helped set up the next book, and i will definitely read the next one because i’m invested in what happens next. i just didn’t *love* it, which is a shame because i love krista and becca ritchie’s writing and was super excited to get to this!

saying that, Addicted to You isnt the strongest addicted book that i have read, so maybe it’s just the KBR first book curse 🤷🏻‍♀️

(Thank you so much to pan macmillan for the EARC! 🫶🏻)

“Dishonestly Yours” is the first installment of “Webs We Weave”, a romance series written by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie and currently in progress.

Two con families. Two best friends who grew up in a world of scams, theft, manipulation and seduction. A job gone terribly wrong. The sudden and instinctive decision to abandon their life of crime and start anew.  A small but quaint college town as the base of a new beginning. Unexpected problems that try to get in their way. An effervescent, light and enthralling prose. A fast, brisk and exciting pace. An engaging, fun and sizzling story. A lovely, well-described setting. Two morally gray, complex, and troubled protagonists portrayed in an incredible way. A group of secondary characters well distinguishable and analyzed. A wonderful found family. A deep swooning romance full of tension, sweetness and angst.

These are just some of the elements that make up “Dishonesthly Yours”, a novel that absorbed me completely! From the very first pages I was captivated by the narration, unable to tear myself away from the pages, curious to continue and know! I found myself repeatedly laughing, smiling, getting angry, suffering, and swooning, without any moments of boredom or heaviness. I loved the choice to alternate between past and present, showing the events that led to the current situation!

Phoebe and Rocky, protagonists with their respective first person povs, won me over! They are two morally gray characters, extremely complex and tormented, portrayed in a splendid way. I loved their interactions, between amusing banter, tense moments and very sweet scenes. They have explosive chemistry, to say the least, and I swooned so much for them! I also loved the secondary characters and the wonderful bond between all of them!

All in all, I loved this book and can't wait to read the sequel! I need to know!

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first read by Krista & Becca Ritchie and I really enjoyed it. The book follow are group of young adults who have been raised by con-artist family. Phoebe and Hailey are looking to escape this life and start a new, honest life in a small town. However Haileys brother Rocky quickly catches up with them and tags along. We quickly discover that there has been some strong history between Phoebe and Rocky but due to their difficult family dynamics have avoided facing their feelings for each other. I really enjoyed this book, I found it easy to read and it was very entertaining. There was a good introduction to the family/friends dynamic in this group and I'm looking forward to reading more in the future books in this series to find out more about them.

3.5 rating.

I really did like this book but I struggled with the slow burn of it. I loved both characters the chemistry was certainly there. I would honestly like to reread this book again as I feel like I’m in a slump at the moment. It was a great book though and I would recommend

This was my first krista & because Ritchie book, and I am very intrigued! I wasn’t expecting a cliff hanger, and I will definitely be continuing!

As a huge fan of the addicted series (not so much the Like Us serious though), I was very excited for a new series by the Ritchie Sisters. The Like Us series definitely ran its course and I am not even excited for the Cobalt empire, because the authors dragged things out way too much in the former books. So a fresh series truly excited me and the blurb sounded very interesting.

However, I was already very skeptical at the beginning. We are told that these two girls are from Con-Artist families and they are super good at lying and thieving their ways through life, but somehow they acted completely childish and dumb.
I had to take a break multiple times while reading this book, because the plot was so ridiculous and unbelievable. The flashbacks also felt unnecessary, because we are told so many times that they are con-artists and so good about it, but the flashbacks made me question their brilliant talents anyways.

It was already at the beginning, when they introduced themselves to their new landlord, that I was cringing so hard, because Phoebe can’t lie at all. These scenes felt so ridiculous, because their behavior was the complete opposite of a "good con-artist". The Ritchie Twins need to stop telling the readers things and then having the characters act completely different.

I really disliked the romance between Rocky and Phoebe. They had no chemistry whatsoever, and the plot felt both bizarre and extremely predictable at times. The main characters were very annoying, especially Phoebe. I just couldn’t understand the back and forth between her and Rocky. It was dragged out way too much. I just didn’t care for them and their interactions felt very cringey. However, I ended up liking the side characters a lot more.

I understand it was the start of the series, but this book just didn’t manage to grip me. The pacing felt slow, and most of the plot points were uninteresting or repetitive. The only engaging moment happened in the last chapter, but then it abruptly ended on a cliffhanger, which felt more frustrating than intriguing. I guess I have lost my love for the Twins writing, which is a shame because the Core 6 are some of my favorite book characters ever!

The Graves and Tinrock families live life from one con to the next. Phoebe Graves has grown up in a world where stealing and seducing are as natural as breathing.

When a job goes horribly wrong, she and her best friend, Hailey Tinrock, decide to leave their life of crime behind. They head to a small college town in Connecticut to start anew. But Hailey’s older brother, Rocky, catches wind of their plans and refuses to let them do this alone.
Will Phoebe and Rocky's messy relationship and past let them cut ties to start again?

- Found family
- Slow burn
- Best friends brother
- Morally grey characters
- Con artists
- If he can't have her, no one can
- Grumpy X Grumpier
- Touch her, you die
- Dual POV

This is the first book I’ve read from these authors but their previous books are on my TBR. This is also the first book I’ve read which has more than one author. I wasn’t sure how I would find the writing style but I really enjoyed this book. This book is a very very slow burn in terms of romance but the story does keep you hooked. There is very little romance until the end of the book.
The plot of the book is very new for me but something I love in movies and tv shows, because of this I wasn’t sure how I would get along with it, but I loved it. It’s a topic I will definitely be looking to read about again and feel it adds some excitement to the story. You know a story has got you thinking about it all the time when you end up having a dream about theft.
This story featured some flashbacks of jobs the characters have done previously and I feel these help show how the characters have become who they are and why they’re like they are. I really enjoyed the found family element of this between the two families and I would love nothing more than to have a friendship like Phoebe and Hailey have. Bonus points for Phoebe having the same name as me.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and see what happens next, you’ll be left wanting more!!

Okay, I'm intrigued!

This was a very interesting premise and the storyline kept me hooked for sure. I loved the family dynamics and I loved the tension between Phoebe and Rocky even more.

It ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I wasn't and now I'm annoyed that I have to wait for the next one!

Dishonestly yours follows Phoebe and Hailey who run away to a new town to start a new life, away from the scams and tricks they've grown up with. Coming from two families who are experts in the long cons, its interesting to find out more about their dynamics with their families and the types of scams they were involved in. We get to meet their siblings as well and while they have been taught to lie and scheme, you can sense the trust between them as they navigate this new world together. The love interest Rocky was your typical touch her and you'll die - the perfect book boyfriend for anyone out there looking for another character to obsess with. I loved their tension throughout the book and learning about their relationship and how they worked as a team through the scams. I loved how loyal they were to each other even though they both had this tough exterior and I will say I never expected the twist at the end! If you loved the addicted series and are on the fence about this book, I would recommend just diving straight into it. It features the same level of drama and tension you would expect from a Krista and Becca book but it definitely holds its own against the addicted series. Don't expect for it to be more of the same because they have definitely delivered. The only reason why it wasn't a 5 stars for me was because I felt like they had tried to introduce so many characters in the beginning and at times I would forget who was who. All in all, it's a solid start to a new series and the ending will definitely leave you wanting more.

Thank you Netgalley, Pan Macmillan and Krista and Becca Ritchie for the arc, all opinion are my own.

I wanted to enjoy this book, there was so much potential in a story about con artists scamming their way through life and falling in love, but this was poorly done, and my enjoyment was short-lived.

Rocky and Pheobe have known each other all their lives. Their mothers are best friends and confidence women who raised them and their siblings into two con-artist families that swindle marks wherever they go, yet now Pheobe and her best friend, Rocky’s little sister, Hailey want out. They run away with the dream of living a moral and honest life, but Rocky isn’t going to let them go alone.

What could have been a thrilling and exciting ride was in reality a disappointing read where the plot dragged, and nothing truly happened except the tension between Rocky and Pheobe building from what could have been great angst well into annoying. For me, a slow-burn girlie, to say that is shocking.

I’m also honestly surprised by this book, not in a good way. Considering that the Ritchie duo have written two other series about eight books each, the writing on this one was bad. There is a lot of editing that needs to happen on the writing alone.

I won’t be picking up the next book, and Dishonestly Yours has mostly turned me off reading any of the authors’ other works.

Thank you Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC of this book in exchange of my honest review ❣️

I was a little sceptical about this book bc I always feel when authors perfect a style of books and decide to range from that it doesn’t always end well, it wasn’t the case I was so positively surprised!! It’s very different from any book I’ve read and it left me hocked from the very first page. One thing KBR do right is their found family and in this book, even with very dysfunctional dynamics, THEY. DID. IT.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the series because there was so much potential in this one 🥹❣️We need books for every single characters bc I’m sensing we will be addicted ( iykyk 🤭 )

The ending??? What do you mean the book ends like that??? I was actually shocked there wasn’t anymore chapters 😂

Thank you so much for this E-ARC

The story centers on two con artist families: the Graves and the Tinrock. Our main character, Phoebe Graves, along with her best friend Hailey Tinrock, decides it's time for a fresh start after a job goes wrong. They move to Vittoria, Connecticut, aiming to leave scams and secrets behind.

Hailey's older brother, Rocky, gets wind of their new situation. Rocky and Phoebe have always had a complicated relationship, full of mutual attraction but strained by family pressures.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were great, the setting was lovely, and the plot twists kept me hooked. Krista & Becca's writing always nails the found family theme, and the sibling bonds in this story were especially touching.

I loved the tropes of this book a lot! If you’re looking for morally grey, best friend‘s brother, small town and grumpy MCs that pretend they have been married this will be your thing! I liked the romance part a lot and got through the book rather quick. The only downside was that it took me a long time to built a genuine connection to the characters.

The book was a delightful one. The writing was amazing and wonderful as always ❤️ love the way the characters are penned and drafted in this plot. I had set an expectation and the authors met it. I was reading slump yet this book kept me hooked till the very end of the plot thus it defines how much I enjoyed reading this.

Synopsis & my opinion:
This book follows Phoebe and Rocky, children of two con families that work together. Hailey (Rocky's sister and Phoebe's best friend) convinces Phoebe it's time they end their con life and start an honest one in a small but wealthy coastal town. Of course, this stunt won't go well with their parent and Rocky knows it, so he comes to the same small town to have an eye on his sister (and subsequently her best friend). I was very excited about this book because I am in love with the Addicted series by the authors, unfortunately, this book didn't work for me as well. In the Addicted series, I fell in love with each and every character of the book, which didn't happen in Dishonestly Yours. I did care more about Phoebe and her insecurities about being the seductress in their con group, but I felt absolutely nothing for Rocky, even though we had his POV. He is a natural protector, this I'll give him. The romance in general was a lot of tell and no see. We are told that Phoebe and Rocky have been into each other for years but never acted on it because of their families, but I personally see no chemistry there. We are led to believe there was one job that turned their relationship around and when the details of that job were revealed it was very underwhelming for me, I was expecting something more substantial. The plot in general was very slow-paced and almost nothing was happening, just life in a small town. So it's an extremely introductory book but I believe the next book can be way more fast-paced once we establish the characters and the ambiance. You can argue the Addicted series is the same, but in that series, I cared about characters so I was up to reading about almost anything they were up to. In this book, neither the plot nor the character caught my attention. To be sincere even the final plot twist didn't engage me, but I'll still probably read the next installment in the series to solidify my opinion on the series, I also do believe that as of now I like Hailey more than Phoebe and Rocky.
