Happy release day to Crossroads (Haven River Ranch book 1) by @devneyperry💜

Crossroads is a second chance, childhood friends to lovers romance that takes place at a ranch in Montana. Devney writes her small town romances in a way that makes me feel like I am part of the fictional world, and this one felt no different even though it was the first in a completely new series.

West and Indya captured my heart right away. Their story is told in dual timelines and their chemistry in both the past and present had me rooting for them. This book was fun, angsty and sexy.

I truly didn’t think it was possible to become more obsessed with Devney Perry books than I already am but I have a feeling this series will be her best yet and will wreck me every step of the way. After rereading twice I decided it is in my top 5 Devney books🤭

The audiobook is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais - I was in heaven the entire time😍

I have not felt this way about a Devney book (and a Devney audiobook specifically) since listening to Indigo Ridge and Juniper Hill which are two of my all time favorites. Alls that to say I absolutely LOVED this audiobook. The story itself was fantastic (I am a sucker for childhood friends to lovers to strangers to lovers) but the audio just brought it to life. I am a huge fan of everything Samantha Brentmoor does and she absolutely killed it in this audio

Give me all Devney Evey day. Everything she writes is pure gold and becomes my next favorite book. The narrators were fantastic choices to bring the characters to life. I love this new world and can’t wait for more.

Another amazing release by Devney Perry!! It seriously gave me all the feels!! My heart!!! I was hurting, sad, swooned, laughed, frustrated. The heartache and the grief got me sooo good. I legit ugly cried. 😅

The chemistry and tension between Indya and West was beautifully built. I was rooting for them from the first page, but man, I totally felt West's pain when Indya bought the ranch. Indya's family vacationed in Montana every summer because that's where her father loves it best, and he was battling with cancer. That's where she met West every summer. That friendship turned into something more, but they never acted upon it. When Indya finally made up her mind, it was already too late. Years later, they met again and there was pain, heartache, and anger. But the love they felt for each other have always been there.

It sort of gave me Wild Highway and Garnet Flat vibes a bit if you read other books by Devney.

Let's just say I found myself crying and needing a moment.

What can I say other than, grab the tissues. I did not expect to find myself crying at the end. Although I had a guess throughout the book, it hit me harder than expected. This was such a well-written enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance, but it’s so much more. There is a lot of depth, with some unexpected surprises. I loved the way the unresolved feelings caused a lot of angst, but their connection made it difficult to stay away from each other.

Indya and West met when they were kids and Indya’s family spent the week at West’s family’s ranch. Every summer, Indya and her family returned and a friendship developed into more. Through flashbacks, we revisit their relationship. They had a deep connection but the timing never worked. The ranch remained a special place for Indya. After West’s father makes a bad financial decision, she buys the ranch, much to West and the employee’s dismay.

Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais do a fantastic job narrating the audiobook and immersing me in the story. I found myself starting the audiobook and the next thing I knew I was finished. I couldn’t stop listening.

"Crossroads" by Devney Perry is the first book in the Haven River Ranch series. It showcased a second-chance romance set in a quaint town. The protagonists, once childhood friends and sporadic lovers, find their lives intertwined again when they must collaborate to rescue a ranch cherished by both. It's a story of first love, nostalgic childhood memories, loss, healing, and new beginnings.

Indya and West's acquaintance began in childhood. He, a rancher's son, and she, vacationing with her parents at the ranch guesthouse each summer, formed a bond that deepened with every yearly visit. Despite their limited interaction, a profound relationship blossomed. As the years passed, farewells grew more difficult, until poor decisions and a failure to communicate caused a prolonged separation. However, Indya's eventual return sets the stage for unforeseen developments.

"Crossroads" exemplifies why I adore Devney Perry's small-town romances. She skillfully crafts a story that captivates and invests readers in the characters' lives. Indya and West's story was particularly engrossing. The tale evokes a spectrum of emotions. Particularly through West's internal conflict over perceived betrayal by his father, compounded by his feelings for Indya. Moreover, the story addresses the themes of loss and grief, eliciting an emotional response as readers resonate with Indya's experiences. The story depicted Indya as a resilient and self-reliant businesswoman, revealing her sensitive side in her interactions with West.

The supporting cast enriches the story, featuring one character who is particularly intriguing, prompting a desire to delve further into the Haven Ranch world. Devney Perry's latest work will surely appeal to fans of second-chance romances set against the backdrop of small-town charm.

Having listened to the audiobook, narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais, I found it to be a delightful new experience. I believe they both excelled in bringing the story and its characters to life.

This book proves why Devney Perry & second chance romances will always go hand in hand.

from childhood friends to young love and then spending years apart before reuniting on not so friendly terms, west & indya have lots of history between them. indya spent many of her summer vacations at west’s family ranch in montana. she vows not to return, until one day years later, she finally does. but this time, she’s not a guest on the ranch, she’s the new owner.

this book has the small town montana backdrop we know and love with a truly perfectly executed dual timeline that lets their love story unfold in the past and again in the present. it’s got heartache and depth and a hot cowboy and a woman who knows what she wants and it’s one of devney’s best!!!

Samantha Brentmoor narrated Indya so beautifully, even the flashback chapters. She captured every emotion so well and it was a treat to listen to. Connor Crais is always incredible, and he was perfectly cast for West.

I want to move to Montana. Every book I by Devney Perry just makes it more apparent. She just nails the dreamy, swoony cowboy type and I love it 🤠 the second chance romance between insta and west was amazing. I loved the dual POV and the flashbacks between present day and when they first met each other as kids. Gosh you just wanted them to be together from their first interaction. It gave me sweet home Alabama vibes and I just loved every second of it.

Another enchanting new Devney Montana world, and whole new cast of characters that have already captured my heart. Crossroads is all we’ve come to love about Denvey Perry- small town charm, heartwarming moments, hypnotic chemistry, and deftly crafted story telling. It’s sweet and soothing while also being passionate and consuming- what a wondrous and magical escape!

Crossroads takes us to the Haven River Ranch world, here with a second chance romance between childhood vacation-only sweethearts, now estranged but still full of feelings, misunderstandings, and so much longing. Rancher West Haven hasn’t forgotten Indya, the beautiful guest that stole his heart each summer, and now she’s back, the newly minted owner of his family business, and new boss. The professional situation and West’s family drama creates all kinds of tensions, but add in their romantic history, all of their unresolved feelings, and all of the angst between them? It’s just deliciously complicated and so full of push-pull. I devoured this!

Both characters are likable but a little lost in their own ways. Indya is both stoic and strong, but she’s also got an aching vulnerability and an open chasm in her heart that make her emotionally gentle and almost raw at times. West, on the other hand, has calcified his heartache with both his family and Indya into a rugged detachment. Self-possessed, opinionated, and fierce…but Indya jolts him in the best way possible, and brings out his caring possessiveness that I adored. Their chemistry is both explosive and gentle, complicated yet easy, and I loved seeing them finally get on the same page and unleash their heart. I'm normally not a fan of second chances where unexpressed feelings/misunderstandings result in separation, but here I think the nature of their romance (vacation lovers) really sets this up to be a more believable lack of communication- not to mention, their real lives have their own issues. And the grand gestures? I melt.

The setting is magical, the secondary characters charming, and the romance is delectable. But I also loved the individual journeys, the way Devney weaves romances with a story about generational healing, grief, and restoration. This book is told in both past and present timelines, and here it works beautifully because it helps us really understand the depth and history between these two. And the ALC was just gorgeously done! The emotional layers, the passion, the gusto of both Samantha and Connor’s performances just swallowed me whole. And I cannot wait for more from this world!

truly one of my new favorite devney perry books!!! this had everything you love about devney’s books but there was just something about this one that felt more elevated and refreshing. all of her books make me long for a place i’ve never been to but Crossroads took it the next level.

i loved the flashbacks and dual timeline where we saw our love interests growing up from childhood friends to lovers and i absolutely adored the narration of these parts. just so sweet and perfect.

this book had amazing tension, a little mystery, and laced with sorrow throughout it was just perfect.

what you’ll get it: childhood friends to lovers, cowboy romance, small town, second chance, right person wrong time and forced proximity, grief.

Wow. Wow wow wow wow! I demolished this book and loved it so much!!

This was exactly how I like to read second chance romances; two characters finding their way back to one another. This was done so perfectly. I just loved West and Indya’s childhood love and confidence in one another.

Indya is one of my favorite FMC’s that I have read in a while. She was so strong after loss and pain and I loved that she didn’t put up with any s***! Her connection to Montana was so heartwarming and I enjoyed reading about her yearly trips there.

So I don’t usually like flash back chapters because they are intended to show loss or pain. While this was partially true in this book, I found them more to be about relationship growth and I loved that so much.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (this was some of the best I have read in a while, very emotionally driven)

There is something uniquely special about the start of a new series. As the author introduces us to the setting, the families, the community - everything begins to come alive in a very magical way. But book one in a series also has to do all the heavy lifting. While obviously not fantasy, romance series require some amount of world building. As a result, the pace is usually slower as we learn all we need to in preparation for the books to come. While this was not necessarily my favorite Denver Perry book, it is a very solid series debut.

I enjoyed reading about Haven River Ranch and the characters that call it home, particularly Indya and West (ps I’m obsessed with this spelling and name combo). As we learn about their turbulent young love story, particularly through a series of flashbacks, we simultaneously experience a reawakening of that romance.

I always like the way in which Perry develops her characters; they are flawed, realistic and entirely relatable. These two seemed completely unmatched and yet I cannot imagine a more fitting partner for each of them. By the time the good ole HEA rolls around, the emotional investment was present and accounted for.

4.5! I really enjoyed this one! I love Devney’s Montana romances. Second chance romances are my favorite. West and Indy’s story. They have secretly loved each other since they were kids but it just never lined up. Swoon worthy. The narrator’s were exactly how I would have pictured their voices to be.

Crossroads is the first book of the Haven River Ranch series of interconnected standalones. This was my first book by this author and I devoured it in one sitting! I can’t wait to read more by them! I loved how this book went back and forth from past to present so we could learn more of West and Indy’s childhood relationship. You could tell how much they meant to each other and how special the ranch was to both of them. The angst and tension between Indy and West was so great and I was here for it!

I’m not gonna lie, there were some emotional topics discussed and had me crying my eyes out towards the end. I was so connected to these characters and felt all of their emotions. I think listening to the audio while following along with the book also helped me connect more. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais both did an excellent job of portraying Indy and West and bringing them to life for me.

Crossroads by Devney Perry is the first audiobook in the Haven River Ranch small-town romance series. Narrated by Samantha Brentmoor & Connor Crais, I loved this second chance romance, filled with loss, childhood memories, first kisses all set on a ranch in Montana. Come see why I loved this one!

Perry has been on my list of authors I’d like to try after reading raving reviews from several fellow book bloggers. I am so glad I picked up Cross Roads. I loved this story from the ranch and cabins to the story that brought these two back together.

I can see why my friends love this author. She knows how to tug at your heartstrings and make you laugh in the next sentence. This is a second chance romance that never really happened the first time around. Instead, it shared the story of how they met as children. He was the rancher’s son and she was a regular summer guest.

The set up was great from the heated first meet to the seeing them work together as the author took us back through the years and brought us forward. The ranch, particularly the lodge and cabins, are in trouble, and Indy intends to save it. West Haven, feels betrayed by his father, and doesn’t know what to do with his feelings for Indy.

If you love a romance with all the feels and a powerful story tied to it, you’ll love CrossRoads. Samantha Brentmoor did a fantastic job voicing Indy. Indy is a strong, business smart gal who has a vulnerable side when it comes to West. I’ve only listened to Connor Crais once before and, to be honest, wasn’t impressed, but his narration for West was spectacular. He was perfectly suited for this strong, complex man.

While this story offers an HEA and left me satisfied, Perry also introduced secondary characters, like West’s brother who has me eager to return to Haven River Ranch.

Loved the story. Devney Perry is one of the authors that made me fall in love with Montana without having been in the US.
.
This was a great read. Cowboy books are the best. Spice level 3/5 🌶️

I do have to say that the audiobook was OK. But when we had a chapter from the pov of West, the actor also did the voice of India when she was speaking and vice versa. I found this weird as they had 2 actors, one male and one female. It would have been great if they both talked in all chapters.

Crossroads is book one in the Haven River Ranch series with Indya Keller and West Haven. It's a small town, childhood friends to lovers to enemies, steamy, second chance romance.

As a child, Indya visited the ranch in Montana every summer with her parents. Now, she is back--not as a guest, but as the owner. West and his brother were not aware that their father was selling the ranch, so West's reunion with Indya did not start out too well.

This is told in both Indya and West's POVs with dual timelines that show how West and Indya came to meet and their time together when she was at the ranch with her parents. I thought the backstory for them was sweet. There is more than their romance, though. The story also deals with loss and grief and is very emotional for Indya.

I listened as well as read this book and loved the ALC. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais are just perfect in their narration. They definitely added to my enjoyment.

Thank you to Brilliance Publishing, Montlake, NetGalley and the author for an advance listener and advance readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this small town second chance romance! I read this in one day because I couldn’t put it down. This is also an enemies to lovers because our FMC is taking over our mmc’s family ranch which he is not happy about. Devney did an excellent job of building tension between these two and I looked forward to all of the flash back chapters to when they were kids. I’ll definitely read any other books in this series!
