This is the third book in the Pleasures series by Evie Hunter. I did not read the other books but didn’t feel like I was at a disadvantage because the author did a great job filling in the blanks while making you interested in reading the other books anyway. This book is about Museum Curator Sinead O’Sullivan who previously put herself through college by being the much sought after burlesque dancer Lottie LeBlanc. Things go awry when Sinead is caught on the museum’s security camera stealing a $50 million jewel. Lucky for her, she has a rich uncle who posted her bail as well as assigning security expert Niall Moore to look after her until trial.

The major plot twist comes when Sinead immediately figures out who framed her and insists on clearing her name with or without Niall’s help. To make this even more of a challenge, Sinead and Niall have a very strong animal attraction that intensifies as things start to point toward certain Dominant and Submissive tendencies, if you no what I mean. There aren’t many words to describe what happens when the two of them get down and dirty. It’s nothing short of X-rated in all the right ways. They literally scorch the pages. Their escapades are epic and worthy of several cold showers. In addition, the non-bedroom action was also very entertaining. I was very interested in finding out who really stole the jewel and more about Sinead’s messed up childhood. Niall had some exciting fight scenes and his character turned out to be very noble once Sinead got past his black ops hardened exterior.

I really enjoyed this book. It was the perfect balance of erotica and adventure. The BDSM was on full display but it was done in a fairly tasteful manner that made it a little less taboo.. Sinead’s character was well written and also unexpected. The writing had a lot of depth and I felt like we really got to know a lot about the main characters and their emotional journeys. I would be interested in reading the other books in the series.
