This book gave me serious Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones vibes. A barbarian kidnaps princess who is sweet and naïve. I loved the entire concept of the book. The romance is intense with the “you do what I say, when I say” vibes but with the omega’s desire to obey against their own will rules. I can’t wait for book 2. 4 out of 5 stars.

Be careful what you wish for! Naya has had some traumatic events that left her doubting herself. She believes that she will not be a good ruler unless she has her true mate by her side. Her true mate just so happens to abducts and treats her horribly. Akora has his own trauma and his backstory eventually gets revealed. He wants to take over her empire and kill her people and she is trying to find a way to save it. Throw in that they are true mates and the steamy scenes get spicy while the tension between the two are off the charts. This is dark, and oh so good. The cliffhanger almost did me in. Waiting on the next one to see what happens next!
