This book was definitely a page turner for me. The relationship between friends and family members is sensitively explored. Definitely a book that I would recommend.

This was my first Caitlin Weaver book and wow - I’m super impressed! I was hooked from the start and didn’t want to put it down.

Best friends and neighbors, Lorrie and Eden have always thought how fun it would be if their children - who have grown up together - would one day start dating. Now that their kids are about to graduate from high school, that wishful thinking has become a reality.

Everything is perfect until one day when Eden‘s daughter makes a terrible accusation against Lorrie’s son. It takes a toll on both families and tough decisions need to be made.

This book is extremely impactful and thought provoking. It is filled with heartbreak and emotion. Told in multiple POV’s - Weaver does an excellent job of really making you feel for these characters.

Thank you to the Publisher for the chance to read this book. All opinions expressed are voluntary and my own thoughts and views. I normally don't care for books bouncing from character to character, but in this book it was needed. Lorrie, Eden, Knox, Summer and Archie all had so much to add to the story. I felt sorry for little Chloe. I became so engrossed in this book. It has to be a great book for me to stay up all night reading!

Best friends…kids the same age…how many times have we joked about our kids marrying each other and how amazing that would be? Probably ALOT! This novel intrigued me from the beginning and honestly I couldn’t put it down. Author Caitlin Weaver did such an amazing job with a sensitive topic and the reality is earth shattering!

“ Such a Good Family” sets itself apart from the rest in the way that it broaches dark secrets of seemingly the happiest of families. It brings to the forefront what is often hidden or silenced. An accusation that could potentially destroy many is tethered by fear of the past and the future.

Readers like you and I have difficulty sometimes reading something that’s challenging to accept or so heart wrenching that we steer away from it. There’s something about this novel that grips you from the beginning. Is it that we are rooting for one family or the other ? Or is it that this could potentially happen to our own family or someone else’s?

I believe as a reader, you will delve into the families of Knox and Summer, two high school kids who grew up together and as their interest in each other takes on a new role you”ll sympathize with the reality of their unknown and unexpected path. Two families and a community brought to the forefront of our judgement and our own personal opinions.

I highly recommend “Such a Good Family” written by Author Caitlin Weaver. It’s a MUST read!
Thank you @stormpublishing @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was definitely page turning, though I wouldn't compare it to Celeste Ng, Jodi Picoult, or Liane Moriarty. The writing was good, but not as smart and compelling as the writing of the authors to whom it was compared. The disruption in the friendships and families was believable, but there were many times when the reactions and just general attitudes of the characters were not realistic.

I gave this book 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4. I think this book was well written, but there were some pretty heavy topics covered. Some people may have a hard time with these topics if they are not prepared.

Overall, there were times where it was hard to keep track of what was happening in the book. I think it would have been a bit easier if there weren't so many POV's. The characters were, for the most part, easy to relate to. There was also a vast variety of characters and story lines. The only thing this book was missing was major twists and turns. It was pretty easy to figure out what was going to happen at the end of the book.

I am looking forward to more books by this author!

Best friends of 15 years, Lorrie and Eden are excited when their kids, Knox and Summer, start dating after years of dreaming of them being married one day. Knox comes home late one night angry with scratches on his chest, Lorrie starts to worry. Rightfully so, because not long after that night their whole world shatters. Everything Lorrie knew about her family is a lie. Her husband somehow has a hot shot lawyer on speed dial, she feels like she never knew her oldest son at all, and her other two kids are left to their own devices. Can Lorrie keep her family and friendships from falling apart? And at what lengths would she go to make sure that doesn’t happen?

Wow! This had me hooked! 🤩 This wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill thriller. This made you think. 🙇🏻‍♀️ If an unspeakable thing happened between your and your best friend’s child, would you still be able to keep them in your life? The multiple POVs made the story so gripping and gave you a look into each characters minds and how all of this could have happened. 😳

There were times the emotions of the characters in this book got me. I just wanted to give Summer a hug! 🥺 This can be a heavy topic so check the triggers before reading.

I would suggest this to anyone looking for a twisty summer read! 👏🏻

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Caitlin Weaver for the gifted copy! 🩷

This was a good book but the content at times was hard to take. I personally have experienced stuff from this book and that made me more sensitive to the content. The beginning was a little cringy and the drunk moms stuff was not really up my alley. Overall though it was a pretty good book!

This book was a 2.5 for me, rounded up as it was well written. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the characters, probably because there were far too many different pov's. It got confusing as they all sounded the same. I was really put off by the giggly/drunk relationship between the two moms at the beginning. It was very cringe, especially when they were lying on the bed together. I had to check whether it was written by a man at that point. The storyline was more like a newspaper article. It had no twists or interesting scenarios other than the headline, which made it drag a lot for me. I wouldn't class this as a thriller as it's too slow paced. I'd put it on my store's family drama shelves.
However, it was well written so I'm sure it will do well and the cover is on point. Thanks so much for the arc.

This was a beautifully written debut book that touched on some heavy topics but was an unputdownable and gripping read.

Lorrie and Eden are best friends plus neighbours and their kids basically grew up together. Lorrie is excited to find out that her son, Knox, is dating her best friend’s daughter, Summer.

That is until Summer ends up in the hospital after a sexual assurance and names Knox as the assailant. This changes everything as both mothers try to protect their own kid.

The story is told from multiple POVs and is a thought-provoking book. Caitlin did a great job of exploring such a difficult subject of sexual assault and its impact on the victim, assailant, and their families as well as how the society responds to such a situation.

It was a great page-turner and made me question how far people can go to protect those they love. I would recommend this book if you are a fan of Liane Moriarty, Jodi Picoult and Celeste Ng.

This book gives you plenty to think about. With a title 'Such a Good Family' , you wonder just what is going to be uncovered. Two mums have children due to start college and their whole worlds are turned upside down in an evening. It's told from several characters points of view , and more is uncovered as you read each chapter. It was a page turner as you wonder just how this situation in going to unfold and how everyone will be affected and start to deal with their personal nightmares. I will definitely look out for more books by this author.

A great debut that explores the complex and emotional topic of sexual assault and complicates it with family and friendships. Summer and Knox have grown up together with their mother's as best friends who couldn't be happier when they start dating. Until one night when Summer ends up in the hospital after a brutal assault and names Knox as her assailant. The two families are at odds as they support their children and everyone wants to uncover the truth. A well written plot with complex characters that make you question how you would handle being on each side of the story.

Wow! I could not put this one down—so intense!

Lorrie and Eden are best friends and moms to Knox and Summer, respectively. Since their kids were tiny they have done everything together, from sleepovers to book clubs they’ve raised their kids together. So of course both are happy when their kids—now seniors in high school—start dating. Happy for a while at least. A week before graduation, all hell breaks loose when an accusation is made. Lorrie and Eden rush to protect their own child and as the week progresses things only get worse until the final boom on day of graduation.

This book was incredibly thought provoking and I picture it being a book-club favorite for moms raising kids of all ages. It sparks so many necessary questions and forces readers to look at more than just parenting but how society responds to situations.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of Such a Good Family. I enjoyed being challenged and will remember this one for a while to come!

This thriller will hold its own. Very impressed with the multiple POV's from the main characters. The complexity of the family's life that cannot be seen is so real. I will be following Caitlin Weaver's writing career from here on out. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this books journey.

A compelling and emotional read, this is a book that is hard to put down.
Told from the POV of all the main characters it cleverly shows the complex nature of the situation they find themselves in. The way the author shares the characters thoughts and feelings really brings this book alive.
Well worth reading.
