I really loved this book! This book follows Gus and Teddy's story - characters we meet in the first book, so I would highly recommend reading the series in order!

Gus is Teddy's best friend's older brother and they hate each other. So when Gus is struggling to manage his work responsibilities and taking care of his daughter full time, he is very reluctant to accept Teddy's help with babysitting over the summer. But he accepts and they have to live under the same roof a few days a week for the whole summer - what could go wrong? Or rather, what could go right? Because apparently the line between love and hate is very fine!

I really loved Gus and Teddy, together and as individual characters. Gus was so thoughtful and kind and such a great dad (normally, not something I care about, ew children, but it stuck out to me in this)! Teddy is fierce and loyal, she felt like a real person and even had cool hobbies! I loved seeing the side characters again from other books as well, and I'm glad they didn't overtake the story.

There were a few things that I thought needed a little bit of work. Firstly, whilst I feel like the relationship was really well developed (and was actually love, not lust, unlike a very popular nanny romance I know... I'm looking at you Heartless) there could have been a couple more scenes between Teddy and Gus showing their feelings developing. I feel like a little bit of it happened off page, and it would've been nice to see. There are a couple other nit-picky things, like I hate the use of the c-word, especially during smut, but clearly Lyla Sage doesn't have the same qualms (although it's only used a couple of times), and similarly, I really didn't like the pet name 'Teddy baby' - a bit icky.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this! It made me laugh, tear up, swoon! I think this is her best book yet! And the epilogue has me chomping at the bit for Wild and Wrangled

BOOK REVIEW: Lost and Lassoed by @authorlylasage @quercusbooks

4 Stars

I loved reading the first two books in this series and so I was SO excited to read this third installment and it didn't let me down.

Lost and Lassoed is about Cowboy/Rancher Gus and clothing designer Teddy. It has SO many tropes which I adore and so I REALLY loved it. They include best friends brother, grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and babysitter/nanny. The story is pretty simple and I loved that there wasn't a third act break up but I wish there had been a little more depth in the story. However I still utterly loved reading this book and it got me through a major reading slump.

The lead characters are probably my favourites of this series of books so far. Teddy is an absolute hoot. She is not afraid to speak her mind, can be a bit crass and is a confident, loud woman. However she is also someone that loves her people deeply and will do anything for them. She is feeling a little lost in life and usually covers up her vulnerability with jokes but learns not to with the love interest. Said love interest is Gus, a rancher who is a brilliant Dad (coparent) to a six year old girl. Gus is a little grumpy and feels the weight on his shoulders as he too loves deeply and never wants to let anyone down. I loved Gus and his growth in opening up through this book.
The romance was so well done and I loved the cute moments just as much as the well written smut!

Overall, this is a fantastic fun addition to the series which I highly recommend you read in order! I cannot wait for the next book as the ending set it up SO well and I am EXCITED!

Lost and lassoed is the 3rd book in this series and I enjoyed it. If you like Elsie silver’s books then you will enjoy this one. It’s cute, country and funny. Easy romcom read.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. 5 stars and 4 chili peppers for spice. Gus and Teddy are everything! This book has all my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and single dad. I also love that if you have read the first two books you already got a clear picture of Gus and Teddy’s loathing for each other, so this book didn’t have to take a lot of time describing their dynamic. I also love that Gus is really a closet softie at heart. Totally loved this book!

I don't know how each book in this series gets better every time but Lyla has hit it out of the park yet again!
This book made me laugh, well up with tears and had such heartwarming moments that it's hard not to love it.
For now, Gus and Teddy are my favourite couple but knowing what's in store for Dusty and Cam... It might not be for long

Thank you for the ARC, I can't wait to read more 🥰

I have been salivating for this book ever since Done and Dusted so I was so excited to see how Teddy and Gus would play out!

I love that Lyla doesn’t put in 3rd act miscommunication tropes and that all her MMC’s actually communicate how they are feeling and don’t play games.

Gus was the sexy grumpy single dad cowboy and Teddy was the fiery sassy redhead who also happens to be his little sisters best friend. The tension has been there throughout the series with the little breadcrumbs we got of them in the first two books.

I love a nanny and single dad trope so I loved that forced proximity / roommates aspect to this story as it always delivers some sexy but also sweet moments of connection.

The way Gus learned to open up more and Teddy realised she was deserving of that love was so sweet.

I am so ready for the next in the series as it’s always fun to be in Rebel Blue!

Cowboy / sisters best friend ✔️
Single dad / nanny trope ✔️
Forced proximity / roommates ✔️
No miscommunication ✔️
Spice 🌶️🌶️

We’re so back!! This was the antidote I needed to my slump with book 2. Small town, single dad cowboy, dislike to lovers perfection. I think this makes the most sense as the follow up to Emmy’s book, but I also like that we ultimately got to sit with these characters for a bit longer as their story came together. Side note- my favourite cover so far.

I love this series of books. There are fun, short and cute. Since book one I´ve been waiting for this one, and have an arc of this was amazing. I don't want to talk so much about the sinopsis because for me it contains so much informacion that is nor relevant, If you like the other two books in the series, you are gone love so much this one. Highly recommend.

The story follows a young woman who, after a series of life challenges, finds herself in the middle of nowhere, literally lost in the wide open spaces of ranch country. Enter the cowboy hero, a rugged, capable, and emotionally complex rancher who is dealing with his own set of struggles. Their paths cross in a way that feels both serendipitous and inevitable, leading to a slow-burn romance that keeps the reader invested until the very end.

The characters are well-developed and relatable, with just enough flaws to make them human, but plenty of charm to keep readers rooting for them. The protagonist’s journey of self-discovery is particularly compelling, as she learns to trust again and opens herself up to love after experiencing loss. The chemistry between the main characters is palpable, with moments of tension that build up to a satisfying and heartwarming conclusion.

Perk of being a librarian: getting to read the 3rd book in a series that has me in a chokehold before it’s even published! Lost and Lassoed will be released Nov 5, 2024.

I thought nothing could top Done and Dusted but holy moly, Gus and Teddy have run away with my heart! I adored every second of this enemies to lovers romance, from the witty banter to the heartwarming moments. Sage perfectly balances the topics of love, family, and friendship in such a thoughtful way, with the spice as the cherry on top. ❤️‍🔥 Do yourself a favor and ask your local librarian to order this book and the rest of the Rebel Blue Ranch series for the collection!

Though not my favorite in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, I really enjoyed Lost and Lassoed. Both Teddy and Gus were great, complex characters. I really felt for Teddy and her feeling that her friendship with Emmy had changed. Gus and Teddy both annoyed me at times, but I loved watching their relationship grow and change throughout the book. Overall, I would give this book 4 stars, and I can’t wait to read more by Lyla Sage.

3.5⭐️

Mi problema fue que tenía mis expectativas por las nubes y no las cumplió, no es malo, pero no fue lo que esperaba. Me gusto y estuvo entretenido

Intentaré no dar spoilers:

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I adore this series. The love between the families and friends is beautiful. It shows the ups and downs of friendships and relationships changing. They're such a fun girl gang. The way this book was a love letter to incredible dads made me tear up. The dedication to Lyla's dad at the end tipped me over the edge. Actually, that's a lie I definitely cried earlier at some of the Hank and Teddy scenes. Their relationship is just so beautiful.

This book was everything I hoped for and more. Gus & Teddy are the perfect enemies to lovers. Their acidic banter and love for riling each other up is hilarious. I loved that it was a slower burn of enemies to friends to lovers but they never lost the ability to wind each other up. The perfect level of sweet and spicy. It was fun to finally find out why they fight so much as well. I was also a huge fan of that last bar scene and how Gus accepts Teddy for who she is without it affecting his masculinity.

I wanted to give both Teddy and Gus a massive hug for the pressure they put on themselves but it was so cute seeing them support and fight for each other. Gus taking care of Teddy was swoon worthy.

Riley is obviously the star of the show. She's adorable and so freaking funny.

I can't wait for Dusty & Cam's book but I'll be sad to say bye to Meadowlark.

Firstly I am beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to read this book before release. With that in mind this review will be as spoiler free as possible.

Lost and lassoed was the book I was most excited about. Seeing the relationship between both Teddy and Gus throughout the first two books created a need to see these characters in the spotlight. My goodness this book was everything I wanted for these characters.

Lyla had a great ability to transport you to the places within the book and that was no different in this one. My absolute favourite scene is the mechanical bull scene. Matched with a killer song that I had to play while reading, I was there.

There is so much about this book that fills my heart with joy. The strong family bond and community feel will always be my favourite thing about this series. Throughout the book the relationships between the dads in this series and their children was celebrated in a beautiful way.

I loved this book so much and continue to adore this series and being at rebel blue with the Ryder family. I can’t wait to read the final book Wild and Wrangled.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this item! I've enjoyed this series so far, and this was definitely my favorite of the three. The pairing felt natural and the interactions organic - it's tightly written and I'll recommend for other readers.

This was delightful, a great read and although it was my least favourite in the series so far, I definitely enjoyed it a lot.

It was written very simply, but still well enough to have an emotional impact. I loved all the characters and the setting, I was so happy to finally read Gus and Teddy's story, and I was a big fan of Teddy and Emmy's friendship in this book.

It was maybe a little too similar to Heartless by Elsie Silver for my liking though.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series, Rebel Blue Ranch has completely captured my heart.

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for a honest review.

This is the best book in this series by FAR and that says a-lot because the first two books are phenomenal! This is a between Teddy and Gus and this will fill your want of a country enemies to lovers. I was sobbing at part and laughing at others and that was because of their character dynamic and the characters themselves. If you are an oldest sibling you are in for a wild ride you are going to connect to and love.

After enjoying the first two books, I was really looking forward to Teddy and Gus’ story. Enemies to lovers? Count me in!

Sadly this fell a bit flat for me. There was very little time as enemies and instead it felt like they were quick to fall.

I did like the way Teddy navigated through her friendship struggles because friendships do change as life happens and it can be hard!

Despite giving it 3.5⭐️, I’m still eager to read the next book!

Thank you netgalley and Hachette Australia & New Zealand for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an eARC of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I have been waiting for Teddy and Gus's book since I read Done and Dusted. The way they trade insults with each other just reeks of repressed sexual tension. I loved that their snarky natures didn't disappear as they started a relationship. I love the relationship between Teddy and Riley also, its adorable and just warms my heart to read it. There were some parts in the book that were a little cringy but not enough to put me off from the book. The characters in this series are just wonderful and they are what keeps me coming back for each book. Lyla Sage knows how to hook a reader, entertain them throughout the book and then leave them wanting more with those sneak peeks into the next book!!! I'm now impatiently waiting for Cam and Dusty's book Wild and Wrangled. I did not expect this series to be an instant favorite when I first picked up Done and Dusted but I'm already excited for my next re-read of this series (after I collect all of the books of course!).
