This is my first time reading Lyla Sage’s books and I’m happy to say I’ll most definitely be returning. This was such a beautiful, fun read. The banter and angst was off the charts. Sage could not have pulled off the enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity tropes any better. I am obsessed with all the characters in this universe and their small quaint town, I loved Teddy’s confident larger-than-life personality and Gus’ layered emotional depth. Their personalities bounced off one another’s perfectly. Usually, I’m not a massive fan of children written into plots, but Riley’s character was to die for. She was simultaneously hilarious and witty but was illustrated like a real kid. I am obsessed with the entire setting of this series and will be moving to Wyoming as soon as possible. Highly recommend!
This is a great addition to this series which I'm assuming is to be continued if the epilogue is anything to go by!!
The characters really make this book and I especially loved the character of Teddy (Theodora). She's feisty and charming but vulnerable and relatable. A nice counter balance to Gus (August) who is calm and collected but who also loves deeply. Arty and wild Teddy becoming a live in babysitter for Gus's daughter and the inevitable close quarters builds the tension in the relationship well. This book does have some real heartfelt moments, challenging themes and is incredibly emotional at times which makes the light hearted moments all the more enjoyable.
This book is a real mix of tropes - age-gap, single daddy, best friend's brother, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, forced proximity - but I enjoyed the combination. I thought that the enemies bit was a tad under played and the reason for the 'enemies' was potentially a bit underwhelming but I still enjoyed it thanks to the characters.
I thought that the pacing was good in this one, pretty standard layout for a romance novel, so hits all the right spots. I enjoyed being back in the Meadowlark world as well and seeing familiar faces. If you enjoy cowboys and romance this one is a must read!
I loved this book. It svery similar to the previous ones in this series, but you can read it as a stand alone. Cute love story. I loved all the characters and I can't wait to read the next one!
Thank you for opportunity to read this eARC through NetGalley.
Rebel Blue Ranch by Lyla Sage
I’m officially in my cowboy romance era and I never realised how much I enjoy a small town romance.
I finished reading Done and Dusted and as much as I loved Emmy and Brooks, I was obsessed with Gus and Teddy and was so excited when I got approved to read Lost and Lassoed.
This was such a fun book, Teddy and Gus’s chemistry was on fire, it was building up from the first book. I love their little jabs and the banter throughout was so good, it surpassed my expectations! Gus and Teddy are extremely likeable and it was refreshing to read about people that weren’t problematic or walking red flags!
Thanks NetGalley and @quercusbooks for providing me with a digital arc.
I was so excited for Gus and Teddys story and it did not disappoint. I loved every second of it.
I’m a sucker for a grumpy MMC and Gus delivered just that.
I absolutely LOVED Teddy. She had such a big heart and her relationship with her father literally made me cry. It was refreshing to read about a healthy relationship with a parent because most time in the books I’ve read, the parents are not nice people.
I loved seeing Gus and Teddy banter and slowly growing closer. I really enjoyed seeing the pace at his their love developed.
So far every book in this series has been a hit!
Love love love, easily one of my favorite books of the year if not my FAVORITE book of the year.
All the relationships in this book felt so natural and real, made me thankful for the relationships in my own life.
The love story progressed so beautifully and naturally. The tension was beautiful and the PAYOFF. UGHHHHH.
Teddy Andersen is finding a new rhythm as her best friend got engaged. She's feeling behind in a race that she didn't want, but also didn't not want. She was a leader, a free spirit, an artist and all those roles are changing.
Gus Ryder is the responsible brother, and single parent. He's spreading himself thin to take care of everyone. And a family intervention ensures that he suddenly has a lot more Teddy in his life and house and she is called into take care of his daughter.
Why I started this book: Requested the ARC after reading Done and Dusted.
Why I finished it: This is my favorite so far in the series. Sage has created a wonderful cast of support that sustains the main couple and encourages the reader to continue the series. And the hook for the next book is a real kicker.
ARC 5/5 ⭐️ I love this cowboy enemies-to-lovers romance, it was so much fun. Teddy and August's story was so good, their hate squabbling is iconic.
I loved to see the whole family again, and I can't wait for the rest of the last story, with Cam.
Thank you, NetGalley, Quercus Books, and Lyla Sage, for sending this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.
I adore this series and the third book was no different. Teddy’s character is definitely one of my favourites and I’m so glad she got her happy ending.
It was the perfect mix of love, friendship, heartbreak and spice and I devoured it so quickly. I would highly recommend the Rebel Blue Ranch series to anyone.

I absolutely adored this! Finally getting Gus and Teddy's story was such a treat after two books worth of build up and did not disappoint!
Okay, I say this every time a Rebel Blue book comes out but… this is my fav Rebel Blue yet. BUT I think this genuinely is because Gus and Teddy are two of my fav characters in the series.
It was probably because of that that I had the most fear going into this book for how this relationship would pan out. I just loved both characters so much individually - Gus’s single dadness and his protectiveness of his family, and Teddy’s love for Emmy and her carer role for her father.
Which is why I was so relieved that all those things were developed even more in this book AND played into the relationship that unfolded.
I loved the relationship we saw develop with Riley and Teddy, and just how both Teddy and Gus were the kinds of people that gave so much of themselves up for the ones they love that it united them.
I know Teddy is an only child but she EMANATED eldest daughter vibes and I was ROOTING for her so hard.
ARGH I LOVE LOVE.
My one tiny gripe is that I was expecting the thing that happened in the past to which they were referring to constantly was a bit… bigger. And more… dramatic? I guess? I also think it didn’t quite live up to the enemies to lovers trope but it’s always hard to do that in a modern-set romance bc the stakes are just not there!
Overall though, another win for cowboy loving girlies everywhere. 🤠
I loved this book so much. I knew from the first time I saw Teddy and Gus throwing insults at each other in Done and Dusted they belonged together. This book had me smiling and kicking my feet at every turn. I especially loved the jam out in the Andersen garage and the mechanical bull scenes. I love Lyla sages writing and it’s always a comfort when I’m transported back to medowlark.
Massive thank you to NetGalley and for Quercus Books for this arc 🖤
Thank you Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me an advanced copy to review!
Parts of this I absolutely loved, but also the more I think about it, a few parts of it fell flat for me. I love Teddy and Gus as characters- in fact, I think they might be the most complex couple so far, both together and individually- which is why I feel as if some of the story beats were bypassed a little too quickly. I thought the strongest part of the book was definitely how Teddy relates to her father. There's a beautiful author's note in the back that talks about how that's the beating heart of the novel, and I would agree that totally shines through. My favorite parts were definitely when they were digging into that dynamic. But I feel like Teddy herself didn't get the same curtesy. I thought her personal arc was set up so well, and then it feels like it's dropped and then resolved immediately towards the end. I wish we had been able to see Teddy grow in confidence in certain areas, and try new things on page. I also felt like there were a few pieces missing from Gus's side as well- I wish we had dug into how he felt about his mother and their family dynamic. With him being the oldest and also a father, it just felt like there were a few missed opportunities to really get into how Gus sees the world and how he approaches relationships. Because of this, there is virtually no third act conflict at all, which actually frustrated me quite a bit. They don't even really talk about what made their relationship so tense in the first place and why they didn't work out the first time, they just simply change their minds about each other and that's pretty much that. Despite all this, Rebel Blue is a really lovely place to spend some time. This town and its people are very sweet, and even though the main couple was a little half baked, it still serves some incredibly beautiful moments. It's really clear to me that Lyla Sage loves the genre she writes in, and I think that might be half of what makes a good romance novel. It was exciting to see the first chapter of Wild and Wrangled at the end- I think it might be my favorite premise for Rebel Blue yet, and so I'm looking forward to that one a lot!
"Teddy Baby" (swoooooooooon)
Lyla Sage has done it again with Lost and Lassoed. We are back at Rebel Blue Ranch with Gus and his new babysitter, Teddy.
Lyla always brings such a cosy, sweet, quick read, and this was no different. The dynamic between Gus and Teddy was so good! I cared for them, believed their dislike for each other, and then fell for them looking after each other and falling in love!
I was keen to know about Teddy and Gus from the very first book. There was definitely some tension happening that had me curious and it was entertaining to finally get their backstory. I loved this! The writing flowed nicely and kept me turning pages non-stop. There were some important topics covered, there were laughs and emotional moments, all well balanced. And the way it all ties together at the end was perfect for these two. I honestly had such a blast reading this one! Pulled me out of a slump and got me excited to read again.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this arc.
Another great Rebel Blue Ranch installment! Lost and Lassoed follows Teddy and Gus, who despise each other, but are forced to spend the summer together. Due to Gus' rising workload, he needs help taking care of his daughter, Riley. Teddy isn't exactly his first choice for the job, but she's his only option.
It was great to see Teddy and Gus get to actually know each other better and to grow closer. I loved the tender moments between them. And I loved all of the scenes with Riley, they were so sweet!
I absolutely loved Teddy too! She's fierce and loyal. Sadly, I didn't like Gus that much. I felt he was quite immature at times and kind of acting like a man-child (which I hate lol). Luckily, Teddy always called him out on childish behavior, so it wasn't that bad.
Overall, this book is a lovely cowboy romance and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, heartwarming read.
Wow wow wow
Gus and Teddy were like the perfect enemies to lovers couple!! I loved Riley and her relationship with Teddy but I also loved the side we got to see between Teddy and Hank! Absolutely loved this book and could not put this down
100% a 5 star read! My favourite so far out of the blue rebel ranch series
Thankyou for the early read :)
Wow. Just wow. This book was just the perfect small town romance. I absolutely adored this book. I'll be honest with you guys, i did not enjoy Done and Dusted like AT ALL but i persevered and it damn well paid off. Swift and Saddled and lost and Lassoed are definitely in my top 5 cowboy romances! I enjoyed this so so much and i cannot wait to see what else Lyla has in store for us!
5 ⭐️
Thank you to Netgalley, Quercus Books and Lyla Sage for the opportunity to read this book before release date in exchange for an honest review.
The highly anticipated 3rd book in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series.
I’ve been waiting for this book since I read the first one and it did not disappoint.
I adore Teddy and Gus and this was by far one of the greatest enemies to lovers romance I’ve ever read.
Amazing story, also lovely to see a bit more of Riley.
She thrives in chaos. He prefers routine. The only thing they have in common? How much they hate each other.
Teddy Andersen doesn't have a plan. She's never needed one. She's more of a go with the flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesn't seem to be going her way this time.
Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He's always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he slips up, and has to admit that he can't manage everything on his own. He needs help.
His little sister's best friend, the woman he can't stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddy's the only option he's got.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether or not to act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?
